On the cusp of fledgling democracy, the mineral rich, developing nation known to the world as the People's Republic of Korongaland, has been once again plunged into chaos, violence and armed strife. A bloody military coup is set to tear through the country. Half a decade of fragile peace is set to be sacrificed on the altar of greed and ambition.
With warlords ever growing in prominence, the already beleaguered government in collapsing in the spiralling turmoil, and with chaos and discord all around, vast reserves of mineral wealth, the lives of hundreds of foreign nationals, and the very future of the state of Korongaland and all those who call it home are at stake. As the situation deteriorates, it's up to the goverments, soldiers and citizens of the Anteria, to avert the crisis. Only time will tell if they will meet success, or blood soaked misery.
Rules and Regulations
• Ground Level Roleplaying: All participants are to write in third person and from the characters' points of view. Political debates, military operations and espionage are not exceptions to this rule, we view this narrative through the eyes of the individuals written in it.
• Realism: All players are trusted to manage their narrative with appropriate realism, public opinion is rarely swayed overnight, fleets don't sail at warp speed, and even in the internet age, information takes its time to spread from chaotic situations.
• Power Gaming: Like all Anterian roleplays, all players will have free reign to manage their nations' assets. Use this wisely and responsibly: your nation's military is not unbeatable, it does not possess two hundred 5th Generation stealth bombers that can fly tens of thousands of miles without refueling, it cannot buy the world.
• Civility/Sportsmanship: This one should go without saying. Keep any perceived disagreements to the Anteria RMB and this, the Out of Character thread. Ensure any issues/conflicts of interest are resolved before posting in the IC narrative. As Games Master my say is final on disagreements.
• Adult Themes: Be mature about this, it’s a realistic roleplay set in a realistic conflict, violence, graphic themes, bigotry et al may be present in the narrative within reason. If any of this goes too far however, be prepared to receive a warning or kick, we don’t want the thread being closed. On that note there is to be absolutely no scenes of a sexual nature, uncensored cursing (we all know what f**k) implies etc. If any of the above is an issue, please seek out other RPs.
• Spelling & Grammar: Writers are expected to proofread their posts, odd mistakes are unavoidable and are going to happen, but if there are consistent writing issues or miscommunications expect to be called out on it. Take pride in your writing, it’s for the enjoyment of all the other players involved.
• Have Fun: This is the most important rule! Enjoy this, whether it is your first RP or your hundredth. You'll get out of it what you put in. This is intended to be a medium to long term RP so please commit to it and explore the setting.
