So due to a lack of creative energy I'm unfortunately withdrawing from this edition. I've been experiencing a lack of motivation recently and that's affected my entry writing process and I dont wanna rush an entry I know isn't up to what I'm able to do. Hopefully next edition proves to be something different, but good luck to everyone participating!

I'm withdrawing because I sign up when I have a bunch of motivation then by the time the IC post gets up I've completely burned out

WORLDVISION COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT

WORLDVISION 87 VOTING

The WorldVision Committee has received accusations that Mister X/Missus X has engaged in friend/tactical voting. Upon further investigation of their votes, and by unanimous decision, the Committee believe that the user behind these two nations has voted in a way that does not align with the spirit of the competition.

Therefore, Mister X and Missus X have been disqualified from this competition, and are banned from WorldVision 88 as well.

This is not a decision we have come to lightly, but one that we think reflects the spirit of the rules.

NEW RULE: MAXIMUM VOTING THRESHOLD

We are also announcing, again by unanimous agreement, a new rule change: the maximum votes that a user may give to any one nation has been reduced from 18 to 14. Therefore, if a main nation gives 10 points to nation X, their puppet may now only give 4 points to nation X. The Committee feels that this change will promote a fairer competition.

This rule comes into effect at Worldvision 88.

This is ridiculous.

I don’t have the energy to argue about it, although all I will say for now is it’s not what you think it is.

Moreover, I shouldn’t be the last person to find out about this, and it’s interesting how a detailed portfolio I’d put together in previous editions was ignored over this.

This isn’t going to do anything other than entrench my view that people are conspiring to get me.

So I was busy making my WorldVision Song Contest factbook using Tobu's template to occupy myself as the votes came through (so give that a look and upvote it, love yall xoxo), when I received a DM an @ from Scot

and so from the tone of his message I came here to have a little look and found out that I have indeed won the contest! I was sooooooo nervous about whether the televote would help or hinder me but it seems like it did me some good. Thank you to twenty nations that gave me points for the Jury and whoever gave me +4 points in the televote - I appreciate all the love. When sending this song, after listening to it for the first time I knew I had to send it ASAP (it gave me the same vibes as Dua Lipa's song I sent in WHF50) and scrapped my original idea (which I sent via Estogium) and I was so happy to see all the votes come through supporting it!

ICly (if you read my rp I guess you'd know) it was a young boy who had recently joined the Britonish delegation team for wv87 and squared up to the HoD. The young boy told the HoD that he needed to step up and he had a friend he thought would do well at the contest. I assume that young boy will be getting a promotion somewhere in the BITC music and arts department haha.

Well done to Polk for hosting a fantabulous edition of the worldvision song contest - we absolutely love to see it and well done to those who were happy with their results. Onwards up and upwards, aye? Definitely enjoyed this wv the most in a long time - picking my favourite entries were hard so to win this edition is amazing and it's lucky number 7! yaaaaaay I'm actually so tired guys I cant lie to you lol

Here is the televote breakdown for everyone again here (alt link). Polk's scoreboard didn't have all the post-jury tiebreaks correct so there are a few differences on the ties.

Below you can find the breakdown results of the Jury. Each juror's ranking was compiled together using the exponential weight difference model which is used at the WorldVision Song Contest (ie if you score a first place with a jury, that has a lot of power compared to a mid-rank, low placement)
