With many Supreme Court cases pending and the confirmation of Harrison Reid as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Hopal. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Harrison Reid has called for a session of the Supreme Court to discuss and rule and the pending cases, which have been sitting around for weeks now. Chief Justice Reid is currently the only Justice on the Supreme Court and he alone will make the decisions. He is only the third justice to sit on the court, and this is the first time the Supreme Court has come into session.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Harrison Reid enters the chamber, he sits on a high platform and bangs his gavel against his desk. "The Court shall come to order. Today we hear the trial of the murder of Woody Doles, a transgender woman found beat to death, beside the home of Mark Haggard. Mark Haggard has been accused of first degree murder in the death of Woody Doles. Mr. Haggard, how do you plead?"
"Not Criminally Responsible."

The lawyer for the defence rises. "Your Honour, Mr. Haggard, was in a state of shock, he was not in his normal mental state of mind, and was shocked when he heard the voice of Woody Doles. He was surprised that she had a man's voice, as he didn't want to be in a relationship with a transgender woman. To testify on this, here is psychologist Paul Benson." Mr. Benson comes to the stand "I will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Your Honour, here is a photo of the human brain from a CT scan, in its normal state. Here is another CT Scan, when the mind is in shock, do you see the difference, now here's another one when the mind is in deep shock. Parts of the brain shut down with this much shock, and the brain is in paralysis, and can't fully function properly, this was the state of mind Mr. Haggard was in."

The lawyer for the prosecution rises "That is not correct, our own psychologist Dr. Heather Morin has another explanation, that counters the defence."
Dr. Morin goes to the stand "I will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. What Mr. Benson says is wrong, that CT scan is from a study for people, with brain disease. The fact is Mr. Haggard doesn't have brain disease, and knows better that to murder someone. But I would advise the court that if anyone has murdered someone, even with a disease, they need to be restrained either in an acylium, prison, or rehabilitation centre. Looking through Mr. Haggard's medical history he does not have any major brain flaws, and so is liable for his own actions."

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Harrison Reid speaks "I have ordered Minister of Health Robert Hildegard to testify, on deep brain shock, which will determine my final decision." Minister of Health Robert Hildegard walks to the stand. "I will tell the truth the whole and nothing but the truth. The truth of the matter is, the both sides have lied in their testimonies. I have spoken to the best and brightest of Hopalian psychologists and psychologists from around the world, and the consensus among them is that, there is no such thing as shock that hinders your brain's ability to function, and to discern from right and wrong, and even if it did, your whole body would be paralyzed."

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Harrison Reid walks to his seat and bangs his gavel. "Order, I would like to inform you, that the court has come to a decision. From the testimonies, and evidence provided here, and the evidence provided from neutral party, the court has decided that Mark Haggard is guilty in the murder of Woody Doles. He pleaded not criminally responsible, admitting that he killed Ms. Doles, but saying he wasn't responsible for her death. Based on the facts at this trial, the court has concluded the he was responsible for her death. The court has agreed that Mr. Haggard shall sentenced to life in prison for 3 counts of 1st degree murder, with chance of parole after 25 years."

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Harrison Reid enters the chamber, he walks up to his seat and bangs his gavel. "The Court shall come to order. The case before us involves the military, enlisting all orphans once they have come to age, as decreed by the Prime Minister. Langley Orphanage has challenged this decree saying that it should be illegal, and that it violates Hopalian values, and has brought this case before the Supreme Court."

The lawyer for Langley Orphanage speaks "Your Honour, this decree should never have happened, in the first place the Prime Minister has no authority to decree something as large, and influential as this without the approval of parliament. The country was not at war when this happened, and this decree was planned to be permanent, and thus a law, issuing this as a decree was a way by the Prime Minister to bypass parliament, and the democratic institutions. This decree also goes against human rights, civil right, and liberties. Hopalians have a right to be free, and not be forced to die, and by choosing only a select group of people to enforce, it goes against the basis upon which Hopal was founded, equality. There is also proof that enlisted orphans were treated worse than their peers as the next few witnesses will show."

Private Winnie Vinner comes to the stand "I will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Your Honour, as a mandatory enlisted orphan, I have experienced first hand, the injustice that this decree has invoked. When I came to training camp, I was treated not as a fellow soldier, but as a servant. People thought that since I was enlisted, I didn't have what it took to be a soldier, and that I was only enlisted to do their work. I was forced to do all the chores, and handle all of the dirty work, while I was insulted by the training officer. Whether intentionally or not this decree has made traumatic experiences, and servants out of orphans, and it is forcing these people to do so."
