We do have a (very) similar holiday called that's officially named Gratitude Day, though many Andocarians call it Thanksgiving. It is celebrated on the third Thursday in November. It was chosen that day because people didn't want to have the holiday right before Black Friday. In Gratitude Day people give the opportunity to express thankfulness for the things/people they have in their life. They do the same kind of things Mainland North Americans do in Thanksgiving, that is, have large family dinners.

What's a thanksgiving?

Is that the Canadian and American holiday in which you eat unwholesome food in large quantities with people you don't like?

The Order of Disorder does not celebrate 'thanksgiving' in the traditional sense. However, they do have something similar: Abundance Festivals. At pseudo-randomized times, The Disorder launches an Abundance Festival, to celebrate their high standards of living & general success as a chaos-loving society. In addition to spectacular feasts, they also have friendly competitions & parades with spaceships. In lieu of 'fireworks', they point some nightmarishly & excessively powerful weapons at useless asteroids, and explode them into vapor.

These events are held on a randomized basis, because The Disorder embraces and exalts chaos. Every galactic year (291.2 days), the Disorder holds between 1 and 4 of these abundance festivals. Each abundance festival lasts 1 galactic day (54.6 hours).

We do not celebrate "Thanksgiving" in Balgariia, but we have some kind of "counterpart" in our culture,Sirni zagovezni (also called Sirnitsi and Sirni pokladi). It takes place seven weeks before Easter. The celebration takes place on Sunday, as that was the day of Christ's resurrection. Believers go to (Orthodox) Church early in the morning. Traditionally, the children ask for forgiveness from their parents, just as the parents ask the same of their grandparents. The youngest people ask for forgiveness from the oldest, then the elders ask for forgiveness from those who are younger. According to tradition, participants wear masks and celebrate the carnival at home. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness (the coming of spring).

Thanksgiving? I'm not too sure how your country would celebrate an event with such name, but we have a similar event, that is if my assumption on what the event means with the name alone is correct.

It's called memorial day, and is celebrated every year on the day of the tribe's unification, that being december 11th. On the day, we thank the generosity of our previous generations in shaping our nation to how it is today. You see, twenty years ago, the Elyrion people were split into numerous tribes, but it was a time of peace and cooperation between the tribes. Eventually, everyone agreed to form a united Elyrion tribe, now the united kingdom.

Without this event, we'd all still be tribals, too weak to ever civilise. We celebrate this achievement with an open festival in my own palace, with a giant feast and traditional Elyrion music.
Now, this isn't as important as the celebrations we hold for our gods and goddesses, as without them, us, everyone and the universe as a whole would've never existed. Still, December 11th is a grand day.
Thanks for asking. I'm always happy to see other nations take an interest in our fantastic cultures

There is a similar thanksgiving tradition on Michaelmas Day, the first day of the year, used to give thanks to the preceding year's harvest. It is marked with a morning service of Mattins followed by Prime and Michaelmas Day mass just before noon. Immediately thereafter, there is a parade through the streets of the parish or town. The parade usually features civic and military participants, as well as farmers and the like with floats with harvest vegetables, bread, cakes and crops and the like. This is followed by a harvest or Michaelmas dinner for one's workers serving foods such as bread, carrots, honeycomb and the local type of Michaelmas cake, usually with the last blackberries of the season. There are also other local traditions, such as various sports and games. In the evening, after Vespers, there will usually be a smaller supper with dancing and singing.

As Michaelmas Day is also a term day and the start of the civil, legal, academic and ecclesiastical year, there are also other traditions, such as the collection of rent, the signing of contracts, a ceremonial court sittings to officially begin the term.

Thanksgiving?!

What a waste of work time! Thanksgiving lasted an hour in The British Royalist Union, due to the Union being a capitalist nation. And studies, that found thanksgiving to be a waste of productivity in the workforce. During the 1 hour of thanksgiving, the Automobile Manufacturing Industry hit an all time low.

However, calls were made to the emperor to allow thanksgiving for people not in the Union's private and non-private workforce, these calls, were suppressed and people involved in the calls were publicly flogged.

Traditional Thanksgiving dinner
Thanksgiving is a federal holiday celebrated in Toin since the first half of the 19th century. It is generally considered to be a secular holiday by most, but religious elements exist - many churches hold a thanksgiving service and will usually, as a matter of tradition, provide a Thanksgiving dinner open to all, but often specifically intended for the less than fortunate. The secular elements of the holiday include, at least primarily, a family dinner - usually with an extended family, but not necessarily - and the giving of thanks. In some areas, everyone will share what they are thankful for, which can be anything for any period of time but usually something dear to them, such as a family member, over an extended period of time. A traditional thanksgiving dinner will include at least a turkey, stuffing/dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cranberry sauce, but frequently also includes winter squashes, sweet potatoes (often with brown sugar, molasses, or marshmallows), as well as carrots or parsnips, celery, beets, turnips, radishes, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, or cauliflower. Due to Toin's location in the southern hemisphere, the Thanksgiving holiday is usually associated with the austral summer, and the added difficulty that traditional Thanksgiving foods and decorations are "unseasonable." As a result, there have been many petitions over the years towards Parliament and/or the President to move the Thanksgiving holiday weekend into the spring months (when it would be austral autumn) to fall more in line with the Thanksgiving observances in Canada or the United States.

Employees, in general, are provided with days off. Civil servants, members of the military, doctors, and persons working for the Office of the President, Vice President, or any of the Cabinet secretaries, deputy secretaries, and assistant secretaries, as well as the listed secretaries themselves, are not provided a day off and must continue working their normal schedule due to the nature of their careers. Uniquely, the President and the Vice President celebrate the holiday as any private citizen would, but are often drawn aside to deal with domestic or international issues of immediate importance. Parliament adjourns for the Thanksgiving holiday, but will convene as soon as possible if it's necessary. Federal court justices and state supreme court justices are granted a day off, but courts lower than these continue to operate with a skeleton crew should their services, such as issuing an emergency restraining order, become necessary. In short, the general rule of thumb is institutions whose functionality is essential to the smooth running of society do not provide their employees with a day off, but may run on a skeleton crew if it's feasible.

Thanksgiving is a national and cultural holiday celebrated in the United Empire, Texas, Accra, California, and some parts of the Commonwealth. It is celebrated on the second Monday in October and began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Although Thanksgiving began as a religious festival, it has evolved into a secular cultural holiday. Historically, prayers of thanks and special ceremonies were common amongst most religions after harvests, but the history of the modern British celebration of Thanksgiving is rooted in the English traditions of the Protestant Reformation, as well as sharing aspects of a harvest festival.

The modern British celebration of Thanksgiving is generally accepted to have begun in the 1610s/1620s in the early English colonies along the North American Atlantic coast. The first documented occurrence of a thanksgiving feast and celebration took place in 1621 in the Plymouth colony, part of modern Massachusetts, as a result of a good harvest. However, earlier documented events in New France and Virginia may represent similar feasts of thanks. The date for Thanksgiving was variable up until 1879, although it usually occurred in either late October or early November, and afterward was set at a Thursday in November. Following the First World War and the establishment of Armistice (Remembrance) Day, both holidays were celebrated on the same date until 1931 when the date of Thanksgiving was set to the second Monday in October, in order to better correspond with the traditional harvest festivals.

While the actual Thanksgiving holiday is on a Monday, many British families gather for their Thanksgiving feast on any day during the long weekend. The celebration of Thanksgiving usually involves extended family reunions, parades and sports games, particularly gridiron football, as well as religious services. Traditional food served on Thanksgiving includes roast turkey with stuffing, and pumpkin pie, as well as many other foods and vegetables that are native to the Americas. Although originating in continental North America, the celebration has spread to all parts of the Empire, although its popularity outside the American dominions varies significantly, it is celebrated as a national holiday in every dominion, with its own regional variations.
