News:All trade with Crabaiaia and Pikala has stopped as diplomats meet in Trenaka. Silvedanians are confused by Quentin Tarantulatino's new film, Seasonal Snackbox(This is a Bojack Horseman reference.) Weird song goes viral for making no sense.

In most years it's dangerous and because so many people are out of work and angry as hell about everything else (and with the political situation this year), I expect some bullshit.

...for Halloween? You don't think people would rather save their energy and Molotovs for Election Night in a few days?

While we go trick-or-treating, we're all going to be too busy enjoying the holidays with our families to focus on the money fights at the heart of politics, or how much is in our houses and lives, for a moment. Indeed, many of us will not be home at all to think about these things. The money squabbles over politics, it occurred to me, is really about everyone trying to fill the holes and voids in their happiness and give themselves more activities, sadly often at the expense of others.
But if something as simple as a holiday, a day's change in normal living habits, is capable of breaking even bitter foes away from the worldly concerns and overriding the normal acquisitive thirst in man that's been driving our battles, seeing that even my opponents celebrate Halloween and other holidays, perhaps there's greater questions about political psychology, and man's capability for peace or war, that we have been missing, as children go from house to welcoming house, and the intrigue and pleasure of costumery consumes our whole night's enjoyments.
Curious how the psychology and attentions of humans can change toward different objects of desire and time-spending, isn't it? We may know, in the backs of our minds, that the political knives will come out again eventually as we return to our normal lives and habits, and all the politics and power battles needed to feed those habits, tomorrow, but I can't help but wonder whether a longer change could be effected.
NS, what do you think? A truce to refocus our attention and happiness-seeking strategies, to take our hopes for raising our daily cheer out of our normal thirsts and immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Halloween and trick-or-treating, at least for today?
