I like the idea of an American RP, maybe in the 19th century. Did the Muggle (I hate the term No-Maj) Civil War extend to the Wizarding World? Did they know it was going on? I think American wizards pay their house elves.
The villain should be this creepy dark wizard who breeds Lethifolds.

id imagine it would extend to the wizarding world, but the American wizarding academy seems fairly progressive.... perhaps the american south could have another elitest school?

Maybe the American South school would be formed temporarily, when the Civil War started, due to separatism. And in modern times, they'd be clamoring to start it up again. Although it would make sense for Southern Wizarding elitism to be the same as the British model, I have another idea.
Half-blood wizards are basically taboo. Pure-bloods marry each other, and muggle-borns marry each other, but a pure-blood marrying a muggle-born, or anyone marrying a muggle, is seen as "miscegenation". I don't know how these Southern wizards would see muggle-borns, but they probably don't participate in muggle racism.

Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald is actually set in the Interwar period, and I heard the third film (probably coming out 2021?) is going to feature the Second World War as well as the Magical world war between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
So, yes, this would be an interesting scenario. But we already has a set canon lore (Fantastic Beasts), and I think if we want more creative freedom we can set the roleplay in another time period.

The muggle world has changed quite a bit. Eight billion of them walk this earth, and there are cameras and microphones in every tree, valley, and rice paddy on the planet. The world’s various departments and ministries of magic are having to dedicate more and more resources towards putting out fires that might jeopardise the Statute of Secrecy in this information-era society of government surveillance and social media, and in the halls of ancient magical schools, pureblooded 11-year-olds and muggle-born 11-year-olds have a hard time seeing eye to eye, their upbringings just too different. Amidst all this, a rising new radical movement believes that the magical world can only be truly safe from the muggles if the muggles’ economic and technological advance is suppressed once and for all...
Perhaps Grindelwald’s ghost is not so dead as people would like it to be.

I'd like to see an RP set in the far future, say, the 2100s or so. By this time we can say humankind has spread out across the Solar System - perhaps NASA's Artemis program in 2024 propelled a new age of space colonization, moon habitats, orbital stations, etc. Muggle technology has developed into forms even unpredictable to Dumbledore and Voldemort. Holographic screens, voice chats, artificial intelligence and robots (think Muggles can create "living beings" in the way wizardry can't), laser and directed-energy weapons (the Muggle substitute for wands and spells), the development of medical technology that allowed humans' average lifespan to reach over a hundred yearts (without the need of Philosopher's Stone), etc.
The question whether the Wizarding world is still relevant or not, can they compete with the Muggle world, or is it time to drop the Statute of Secrecy completely, it would be quite an interesting read.

Thats a bit too sci fi for the Wizarding World. And with the modern day I don't want it to turn into modern political commentary which i most definitely think it will
Personally I really like the American Civil War idea

I think the Civil War idea is very interesting. I'd like to see how the whole thing plays itself out. Furthermore, I could certainly see some divides for the american wizarding community. One thing would be the rights of muggles and muggle borns. In the Fantastic Beasts series we find out that the americans have a strict ban on this, but I think this could be worked into the lore. Say the north is on the side of a freer wizarding community with rights for muggles, after the victory a sort of southern resurgance like what happened after reconstruction IRL happens, so for a brief period muggles are seen as equal from the 1860s to the 1870s. But then the resurgance of the southern ideals reintroduce laws against muggles in the 1880s. Ofc, given the RP would be a civil war rp, it could still go either way. It'd be interesting to see how the south incorporates magic and stuff as well. For example, what exactly would southern plantation life look like for wizards? How would it effect their outlook on things and such? Overall I think the scenario is very interesting and would serve a great playthrough.

Why would the North advocate for freer Muggle-born rights? They're more industrialized and the Muggle population is greater and also far more ubitquous than the South, which with its agrarian plantation economy has a far greater amount of empty hinterland that the wizards could hide and maintain a relatively large community in peace. Perhaps there would be intermingling between Muggles and Wizards as well - in the case of rural yeoman farmers, escaped slaves, people who lived in the Louisiana swamps, etc. They might be less prejudiced to Muggles than their compatriots in the North.
