Silvedania, the majestic nation.
NS Stats are mostly accurate except for a few things, like this nation is capitalist and the death penalty isn't in effect

News:All trade with Crabaiaia and Pikala has stopped as diplomats meet in Trenaka. Silvedanians are confused by Quentin Tarantulatino's new film, Seasonal Snackbox(This is a Bojack Horseman reference.) Weird song goes viral for making no sense.

So the current plan is to get a thread up tonight with a planned draw either Friday or Saturday with a start date sometime next week. As of Sarzonia’s withdrawal we have 49 and I’ve had multiple offers for puppet withdrawals and additions so I will either run with 48 or 54 likely. But I’ll cross that bridge closer. Ie entrants are closed, unless we get 4 more entrants (including Drawk at this point) preferably 4 new entrants not puppets etc. thanks

Host Announcement. This is your 25 hour warning for the Group Draw.

I will also be culling Quintessence of Dust (per Request), Drawkland and Crystal Empire from the sign-ups and move forward with a 48 team tournament. 8 Groups of 6. There has not been much sign-up interest since my last post to fill to 56.

Thanks. I will edit in the Pots soonish.

I have a question for Taeshan, I'm actually confused.

You posted a list of arena for the knockouts. Group stage is home and away, I believe group stage games are played in each other nations? And the list of arena you provided is only for the playoffs?

By the way someone should change *open* in the thread title to *closed*.

I guess this is a bit late but can you explain what this "double elimination" is actually going to look like? Is there a RL example we can refer to?

As an avid watcher of the Overwatch League, I think I can help you here.

While this is a smaller bracket, I hope this helps paint the picture of what double-elimination is referring to here. :)

Yeah sorry this was a total brain fart on my end that was fixed within an hour of it, I was just in the mindset of getting stuff ready and let that slip through. Those arenas will be used for my home group games and the knockouts.

Essentially it will run very similar to the World Bowl that happened before the most recent one. Winners will advance in a normal bracket with losers advancing to a losers bracket and each round will add a new “loser” to the losers bracket. I Personally wanted to add some “flavor” and I liked the idea from Dels tournament so ran with it.

As this is a ranked round of sixteen and not a predetermined Group a1 vs group b2 it will work so that the 1 vs 16 winner will play the 8 vs 9 winner and the losers will also play each other. Then the losers on the losers bracket will be knocked out and the winners on the losers bracket will advance to play the quarterfinal losers from the winners bracket and so on. It’s a little complicated but can be seen somewhat in real life in the Little league World Series and is sort of a repechage where the best loser can make the final instead of the bronze final.

FYI if the losers bracket winner beats the winners bracket winner there is a second game as it’s a true double elimination, I.e. double loss bracket.

Does that help?
