Making new accounts and botting

Postby BOMBEN INC » Sun Sep 27, 2020 4:22 am

I know it's kinda dumb to talk about this but I hate people making new accounts or even botting to get nukes and nuke other factions so they could be first. It couldve been better if the event had a restriction that new accounts couldn't take part of this event. It's insane how people think that abusing the system would make them demigods. This is my opinion, I might totally missunderstand this stuff.

There is already a restriction on new nations joining the even.

I can tell you that despite the CAPTCHA and the 12 million minimum population limit, some nations have been able to recruit over 100 of their puppets into a faction (source).

Some card farming nations are now over a year old and can easily be recruited into a faction.

Therefore, increasing the minimum population or age will have little to no effect.

Why not use the same system as the World Assembly? You can participate with only one nation. At most, you can use another account of yours if the first country is destroyed.

I think there are no issues with players joining multiple factions at the same time: it only becomes a serious problem when one nation has basically stuffed hundreds of their own puppets into one faction to either brute force their way to victory, or inflate the membership count.

Unfortunately, I have to tell to you that the Horsemen of the Apocalypse faction has quite a lot of examples (source), with some managing to get more than 200 into one faction. I think that may be an explanation as to why small factions have been struggling recently.

Yeah, I saw that several regions have loads of puppets to use, although judging by the posts before N-day, it probably was to be expected. I personally use only my main in Horsemen, and while I have puppets, I probably couldn't be bothered to use them to the same capacity. Playing with only one is a bit sluggish, but as per that meme, "it ain't much, but it's honest work".

There are many people with quite old puppets -- many hundreds or more of them -- joining factions. The puppets include longstanding R/D and card puppets as well as those created for previous N/Z-days. Perhaps the biggest example is Horsemen, but ATOMIC, AA, Potato and others also have their share. Of course, this is also exacerbated by the availability of easy puppet management tools for N-day, used in various factions.

Really the only way to prevent the use of puppets would be to restrict the events to only WA nations, but that would instead give an advantage to the GCRs and large regions rather than those with many puppets.

The problem is how to go about it without allowing too many puppets, or preventing non-WA players from joining.

I am recommending that players should be limited to around one to five nations per faction at any time, regardless of WA membership: destroyed nations should not count towards the limit.

For N-Day5, there needs to be an inquiry as to how the captcha check fell apart so quickly. I thought the challenges were supposed to be extremely intense after 100 nations.

The captcha checks have been very intense. The Horsemen are, however, also very intense.

The current situation is showing that we only have so many fingers, though :P

Dont care buddy, you cant just change the META to your liking.
Playing with lots of puppets are way more painful than you can ever imagine especially taking 500 of them into the N-DAY

Not everyone has the ability to recruit that many puppets into a single faction. Unlike trading cards, this has a massive knock-on effect on the balance of the mini-game.

No. Some players specifically choose to play without WA functions. To do that, ypu are heavily restricting entire sections of the NS Community.

Hello there, welcome to my thoughts.
I also control puppets in Thaecia and Forest, so you may know me by those puppets.
Yes, my nation does represent a good chunk of my views, deal with it.
I still like K-Pop, no, I am not one of those very annoying stans. Anyways, please watch Day6.
Soups are among my favourite kinds of food.
Am too lazy to deal with a bunch of canon stuff, expect them to be completed never.
Civ 6's Frontier Pass seems very exciting, maybe we'll finally get a Filipino civ?

I understand your point, but while a limit on how many puppets of a single nation can be in N-Day would be a huge pain for puppetmasters, it would make for a more balanced experience.
Strategy shouldn't be brute force. It should be a mental challenge.

A bit off-topic, but what is the reason you use over 5000 puppets? That seems a bit overkill for anything.
