But wasn't it something like a company called OMAC or something that bought Jolt and did all this, originally Jolt was fine.

I don't remember for sure, NS2 was around for a really short time so I don't know how it all shook out.

Jolt was definitely an improvement over the predecessor forums from what I can tell but it still had problems...no doubt it didn't help what a monster forum NS was back then. It was a lot more active back then, I swear around the 2008 election there must have been a thousand posters on General alone. Even a run of the mill "Creationism vs. Evolution" or "Does God Exist" thread could get up into the hundreds of pages.

I think our gravitational weight was part of what made things sour with Jolt, and it was the rabble down here in General. No one likes us but we're the most active part.

One of the things I do miss is the multiquote button. If you were skimming through a thread after you've been away you could just click a button that would add posts when you eventually went to post so it made catching up nice and easy.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

We were definitely the Jupiter of the Jolt system. Multiquote would be nice to have for sure, most of the time I just let things drift away if they're not within the last couple of pages.

To be fair, this is hardly rigorous sample selection.

Given the demographic is probably skewed heavily towards 15-25 year olds or British Museum escapees. Unsurprising.

As for me: Actress/Dancer/writer (in no particular order of precedent. I just like my own schedule and being my own boss). Might actually use my degree at some point for Forensics...though my love for preservation chemicals isn’t particularly high.

I’m sure some of us are.
I’m still dangerously underweight.
