Dear Family, Friends, Countrymen and Visitors from Abroad,
We joyously invite you to our family's annual August Garden Party at Het Oranjerie Paleis, a few miles outside of Oldenzijl aan Zee in Horrndorp, Rivienland, on Saturday, the 8th of August, 2020. It will be a whole-afternoon affair, starting at 11am and finishing at 5pm. Formal Wear is requested, but national dress and uniform are also allowed. Children are allowed and must be supervised.
Throughout the day there shall be various activities, since the Paleis is located on the sea: dancing, swimming, yachting, and more. Food and drink, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic, will be served all day. Since we are expecting a large attendance, including several VIPs, private security will be in attendance, and no personal bodyguards will be needed. Guests may either arrive by boat, and park at the docks, or by car.
As we begin to close out another wonderful summer, we hope to spend the last days of summer with you.

Greetings! As I have not had a chance to RP with Rivienland in awhile, I decided why not now! This will be my first RP, and, with that in mind, I thought a low-key, high society party might be fun. Just some guests, a lot of wine and a lot of food. Since this is high society, please keep the guests to either politicians/gov. officials, socialites, the wealthy, etc. Otherwise, do as you please! Make friends, enemies or any plot you wish. Just, as it will say in the rules, no killing please. Since this is all new, I might need to limit applications just so you know.
On another note, I have revised Rivienland almost three times since my last RP, so if we have had any interactions please reach out and ask before bringing them up. In most cases, I am sure we can slightly edit the past to fit the modern Rivienland. With that, Rivienland has gone from an isolated, old tech country, to a modern constitutional monarchy with some flair.
As mentioned, the party IC begins on Aug 8th, but depending on the amount of apps, will begin OOC either on the 14th or 15th. Reach out if you have any questions or feedback. Hope everyone can join!
The Setting
For a brief overview of Het Oranjerie Paleis, it was a seaside palace built during the 18th century by the De Vos Family, founders of Vos Trade Company. Per the name, the estate was widely known for the construction of several, ornate orangeries which held an expansive collection of various fruit trees imported from across the world. Originally built in the Rivienlander Baroque architectural style, the estate suffered a catastrophic fire in 1901 which saw most of the main palace destroyed. Changing owners and bought by the Immerzeel Family in 1902, the family sought to rebuild the palace, but with a Renaissance Revival architectural style in mind. Finished in 1909, it is still considered one of the most beautiful palaces in the region.
For the August Garden Party, several sections of the estate will be open to visitors:
The Main Garden: This shall been where most of the guests will reside, and where the dancing will take place. The Oldenzijl aan Zee Symfonieorkest (Oldenzijl aan Zee Symphony Orchestra) shall be playing all day the classics of Rivienland, and may take additional requests from guests. Otherwise, the scene shall be decorated by cocktail tables, various flower bouquets and the original 18th century fountain.
The Fruit Orchard: Due to the summer climate, the various fruit trees have been placed out in the Orchard area for viewing, or, if one wished, to eat. With over a hundred trees, anyone would be overwhelmed with the beauty and aroma of the area.
The Docks: This is where some guests may arrive, and where several small yachts and rowing boats are kept for the festivities.
The Great Room: Being the largest room of the palace, this is where others can withdrawal to if the summer sun is affecting them. Spacious but cozy, the room has various couches and seats for those looking for rest or privacy.
