The Latest Data Dump is Empty

Both the data dump here: https://www.nationstates.net/pages/regions.xml.gz and in the archives: https://www.nationstates.net/archive/regions/2020-08-06-regions-xml.gz are devoid of any actual information.

Instead they are about ~97kb, and simply contain the following text when unzipped:

I have no explanation for what you are experiencing. The data is on the server, and when I download it I get a normal file filled with information. Had you gotten a 0-sized file I could have guessed you downloaded it as the file was being created. But this output makes no sense to me.

It appears to be fixed now, as the downloaded data dump is displaying all the data normally. However, before the major of August 6th, the dump was in this state, and numerous other people were experiencing the issues that it caused (such as Spyglass not working correctly).

Regardless, the issue seems to be fine now, so there's probably nothing left to address. :P

Ooh interesting. I think I know what did it, and if I'm right it's my fault. I'll make sure not to leave such a file sitting around in future!

The same issue described in the OP happened to me after the last major update (2020-09-05). Not sure whether anyone else experienced this.

I know that the dumps are fine now. My server downloads them as soon as the "Last-Modified" HTTP header of this file changes, which is a few seconds after the major update ends.
