Lower WA House Idea

Postby The New Cordian Empire » Tue Aug 04, 2020 10:18 pm

Random Idea: What if, instead of the current approvals system, a WA Proposal had to go through a lower (or higher) house consisting of all WA Delegates. The voting would act much like the vote does now, except each delegate would only get one vote. It would be interesting, since there would be more action in the WA, more power to small regions, and more politics involved to get proposals passed.

Is this not exactly what the approvals system provides? All evenly weighted votes for any regional delegate

The only alternative within that system would be to allow delegates to also register a negative vote against a proposals - but this would inevitably result in less proposals reaching a public vote and wouldn't achieve the additional activity you seem to be in favour of

The negative vote is what I was thinking, and I was referring to more WA activity as in more effort required to get a proposal through and more debate, which would generate more activity (I think) by nations partaking in those actions. It would also prevent trash proposals from getting through like Condemn Ravana.

This was just a random idea I wanted to throw out there, feel free to trash it as much as you want.

Probably, but if you are so am I, cause I don’t see a difference neither.

I think what OP is trying to say is that under their system the delegates would be able to vote for or against the proposal, instead of only being able to approve as now. Still a pointless idea IMO.

I don't see what advantage over the current system it'd provide; "if it's not broken don't fix it."

Maybe it’s got to do wth having some sort of downwards vote like that of a ‘agihst’ vote in the voting floor. I dunno. It doesn’t really matter le sense considering delegates beasicslly alreayd do that.

I don’t know why I’m defending this, it’s really just me throwing shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks, but did any of you read my response to Numero Capitan?

Yes, I was thinking a negative vote, and no, Mathuvan Union, delegates do not do this already. The idea is to create a lower house in the WA, which gives equal representation to all WA Delegates, thereby increasing the influence of UCRs in the WA.

Edit: Yes, all delegates already get equal representation, but without the ability to vote against. Because of this, crappy proposals with a lot of effort put in can pass with ease. The ability to vote against both increases UCR influence by making it so that a group of them can vote for or against, making a huge affect on a proposal, and makes it so that crappy proposals have a hard time making it through.

The current system is fine, we got delegate approvals to scrub off the crap-level proposals. If it get pass approvals, we should ATLEAST thank them for funding the NS site through stamps. This idea would only discourage them from doing it so big no no from me.
