History

Naxus Engineering has for a long time supplied sirens and alarms throughout New Jeromia. In the late 80s, as tensions between Nickodia and New Jeromia rose, there was a need for a reliable system to alert the public of an attack. Naxus Engineering, founded in 1952, was proud to supply the nation with a network of air raid sirens, ready to sound if missiles were launched. Even as threats have diminished, Naxus Engineering and New Jeromia still maintain the siren system, and supplements it with phone, television, radio, and indoor alarm alerting methods.

This system gave Naxus Engineering international popularity, with other countries to follow with similar systems.

Our Approach

When you choose us as your supplier, you won’t just have devices installed across your area, you will be a part of the process. Our representatives will schedule a meeting after planning out locations for each device, using the most sophisticated geographical information softwares available. We will then take a look at other notification methods, such as phone, radio, and TV alerts to see if they are necessary. We will install our activation software on a central computer in your area from which you can activate your notification system.

Sirens

Sirens provide a loud warning to those who are outdoors. These are a valuable tool to get people to find information about an emergency. The disadvantage is that they most likely will not wake people up, so they should be used in a layered system. Naxus Engineering offers solutions for both conventional and voice-capable siren systems.

Solara

The Solara model is an entry-level omnidirectional siren, putting out 116dB @100ft. This siren puts out the same amount of sound in all directions, making it an effective siren for high-density areas. It can produce 3 standard signals, which can be upgraded to 6 if necessary.

The 539+1 and 529T are our most efficient models. The 539+1 can put out 131dB @100ft and can produce 3 standard signals, which can be upgraded to 6. The 529T can put out 9 different signals. These specifications at such a low price make this siren very efficient.

eTwister

Our eTwister siren is a low-cost voice-capable siren. Putting out 127dB @100ft, it is also very efficient. The siren can produce 13 different signals, and also has voice messaging capability, which can use both prerecorded voice and live PA announcements.

eTyphoon

The eTyphoon is a voice-capable siren using our patented 800 watt speakers. This siren is our most effective voice-capable model, putting out 130dB of voice and tones @100ft. It can produce 13 signals and voice announcements as well. This siren’s voice is extremely clear, with an error rate of only 2%.

Velocity C

Our Velocity C series is a omnidirectional modular voice-capable siren. We offer 5 models, from 1 to 5 cells, each containing a single 800 watt speaker. Decibel output ranges from 115dB @100ft to 130db. The siren, like other electronic models, can produce 13 standard signals and has voice messaging capabilities. This siren covers all directions simultaneously, but requires more cells to cover the same area. This siren’s voice has an error rate of only 2%.

Emergency Broadcasting

Emergency broadcasting alerts can be used to inform the public better than sirens are able to. Emergency alerts can consist of TV/Radio alerts, phone alerts, email alerts, and more. The disadvantages to emergency alerts is that they will not work if a device is turned off, and depending on the type, will not work if a device is silenced.

Indoor Alarms

Indoor Alarms can be used in public and private buildings to alert those indoors of emergencies. These devices are the only ones which can reliably wake people up, and can, depending on specifications, broadcast voice messages. Naxus Engineering will even install our software onto existing fire alarm systems to reduce customer expenses.

Dear Naxus Engineering,

As head of the Council of the States, it is my job to communicate effectively with the member-states of our Confederation the means in which their central government can adequately provide for our citizens safety and well being. Around a hundred years ago we began a long process of renewing and rebuilding infrastructure after a collapse of an old government due to a world war. One of those systems was our alert and response systems. Anagonia had a modernized siren system and, eventually, alert system that much of the world enjoys today. However, over these decades, the systems in place - especially in rural areas - has become disused and in a state of disrepair. The central government simply cannot effectively send out the necessary resources to replace and renew these systems as we had hoped.

Allow me to elaborate a bit on our predicament. The central government of the Confederate States is an agreed-upon entity that is funded and maintained by its member-states and citizens. We provide the national face for a nation that is very diverse and very independent. Through this funding we work with each state, which is a sovereign entity unto itself, to modernize and maintain national highway and other systems of infrastructure necessary for the safety of all citizens. Recently, funding for these projects has come into question through various challenges in our House of Representatives and Grand Congress. As a national department overseeing the safety of all Anagonian citizens, however, I am obliged to seek alternatives during this trying time as our national goes about its democratic process and decision making. I have decided that, for the time being, I will seek a privatized solution to a national dilemma.

To this end is my message to you. The Council of the States does not have the effective manpower it once it ten years ago. We do, however, have funding. Funding that can be utilized to establish and maintain what I hope could be an effective and long-term government and private industry partnership and keep and maintain our safety and alert systems. It is my hope that if I can get an agreement here, we can save billions that can therefore be placed into other possible government/private industry partnerships with competent industry. My proposal is that my department work closely with your company to effectively replace and renew all systems in our country over the next decade - and provide funding to establish agreements and possible outposts of your company to help maintain these systems for the foreseeable future.

I was extremely excited to hear about your response in our inbox this morning from my secretary. After personally reviewing your reply, I do admit I have a few questions we can indeed go over. I'll try to keep this in order of what you presented in your response, and then I'll present my questions and concerns at the end. I greatly appreciate your company and their willingness to take on this challenge. We at the Council of the States look forward to working closely with Naxus Engineering.

Concerning the sirens, I believe your suggestion of the eTyphoon is an excellent one. Our current siren systems are similar to the eTyphoon by your description, though of lower quality and lower dependability. I believe opting for this route would not only be the most cost-efficient, but also provide our nation with an optimal choice of replacement for our outdated sirens. Additionally, since our citizens are already familiar with this fashion of siren, it would not impact or possibly startle citizens in any way. I appreciate your great consideration in this matter.

The Emergency Broadcast System is something I am willing to work with your company on. By that I mean on the ground representatives as they work closely with our own people during this process. I would like to also extend an offer that we, meaning the Council of the States, set aside a sum of money for the tower workers on your end or - if you choose - workers hired locally. This "accident fund" can be extended to the entire operation as a whole, if necessary, but I understand that tower construction is highly dangerous and I want to ensure we are good hosts if you are using your own workers for this major operation. Considering our goal is to update every tower, either by tearing down and rebuilding the old ones or renewing ones that can be saved, we believe the price is fair and I personally believe my suggestion of allowing us to set aside an "accident fund" would suffice.

The indoor alarms would be tricky unless we allow the freedom for on the ground personnel to assess and judge what is needed and where, e.g. government buildings and emergency shelters. Since this would be the case, we can set aside a hefty sum to cover expenses. I'd consider something in the realm of 1 billion to be able to cover those expenses, but then again it could reach more expensive heights. We are willing to pay out whatever is necessary in that area to ensure that this upgrade process is equally implemented.

Moving on to my questions and concerns. My first question which was not addressed in your response is whether or not your company will be using their own people for this project. Additionally, I also asked in my last correspondence whether or not you would need to set up workshops and businesses in our nation to support this undertaking. These two questions are my primary concern of the moment, and I have no additional questions or concerns.

As of right now, the total I am coming to is D$18.8 Billion, a far cry from reaching our budget of D$1.5 Trillion. Currency transfers aside, I believe we can extend this budget to D$25 Billion safely and provide an addition D$1 Billion for the purposed "accident fun" should it need to be utilized. We can also include any further costs for vehicle rentals, should you decide to rent locally, or transportation costs of your own assets. This was one of the reasons I brought up whether or not you'd be purchasing temporary or permanent property for workshops and businesses in our nation, as I am authorized to provide a more than favorable discount on local taxes and fees. I would enjoy discussing further costs with you as we work towards finalizing this deal.

Just to clarify, we will not be directly replacing all of the devices (unless you request this) as we will completely re-evaluate new locations with our sophisticated geographic information software which was most likely not available when the old devices were installed. This comes with no extra cost to your nation.

With regards to your question about whether we will provide our own people or not, we will, but we do not provide the necessary vehicles for this. From what you said, I assume you have a fleet of vehicles since you had an emergency broadcast network in the past, but we can also work with you and another company to rent vehicles if necessary. We accept your gracious offer of a $1 billion NSD accident fund. It is my hope that, perhaps, we two can meet up at some point to finalize the finer details of our arrangement. If this can be done, please let me know.

In response to your reply, I will keep this brief. I am very pleased to hear the eTyphoon is of such excellent quality and I greatly appreciate the terms of the evaluation. I understand that not all our sirens will need to be replaced, and I am extremely appreciative you took the time to address that. Rest assured that concerning your need for vehicles, we will supply whatever if necessary and ensure you achieve the best possible government discounts on rental vehicles. Your presence alone in these areas will boost business so I am sure the rental companies will be happy to work deals on the matter. I personally find it acceptable that you suggested you would personally assess the buildings, so no worries there. Concerning the businesses, rest assured, wherever you believe it should be built we will provide the best possible terms for your business. You are doing a service not only for our country, but for the safety of our citizens, and if you should hire locally even more so.

We are in the process of finalizing our biggest sale yet, and need to work out the logistics. This will be a huge undertaking, so we aren't able to make any sales for the time being. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we hope that improvements to our company can come with the new money brought in.
