To be clear you should be very happy that it's NOT first past the post because if it was 36% of the vote would give the DFP a VERY commanding majority in the Assembly lol.

Talk to us. We can be more reasonable than you think. The DFP has expressed willingness to work with other parties to form a ruling coalition. We have to remember that while our parties and players have competing visions for Dreyan we all still need Dreyan to succeed and that it is very possible for ALL of us to lose this game if we do not cooperate.

NS Nation Name: Marzarbul
Character Name: Theodor Danh
Character Gender: M
Character Age: 58
Character Position: Vice Admiral (OF-8) of Dreadnought Task Force 4 (DTF-4)
Appearance:

Starship: Dreyan Imperial Ship (DIS) Auriga (DR-4 Cepheus Class); Flagship of DTF-4
Main Strengths: Resourceful, Brave, Independent
Main Weaknesses: Impatient, Judgemental, Overconfident
Biography:
Pre-Military Background 2451-2469
Born in the year 2451 to modest agrarian workers in the western regions of Dreyan, his humble beginnings would impact him greatly during his career in military service. The only child of Charles and Elaheh Dahn, young Theodor would work alongside his parents in harvesting/cultivating whatever plants the landholder of their region decided. By converting an old combustion vehicle into a seed drill he was able to increase planting speed that allowed his family to outpace their fellow workers. This resourcefulness and focus on overcoming obstacles would greatly increase his families monetary fortunes and would attract the attention of the local landholder; Mr. Zhao. In the East, due to the overcrowding and general competition among those in the region, such patronages are vital for any to escape the fields of the East. Young Theodor then graduated from his primary education at the top of his class in 2469 and with patronage from his landholder would attend Zoran Imperial War College.

The focus of Zoran Imperial War College was more well rounded versus the naval or other specialized war colleges. With the belief that a jack of all trade would be able to operate more effectively in interplanetary warfare. While he excelled in tactical theory and its practical applications he struggled heavily with strategic and operational doctrines. His instructors would remark on his ability to deftly maneuver into perfect killing blows in simulated single ship actions. However, he would be decimated when it came to commanding overall campaigns. So much so that when it came time for him to lead a simulated campaign bets were made as to how many would survive. Such deficits would continue to plague and hinder his advancement in later years of his career. Additionally his lack of proper upbringing in the more affluent social circles most in the academy were raised in also hindered his ability to network. Most of his colleagues/friends at this time tended to be from either his home region in the East or the North. Such preference would result in him tending to prefer to surround himself with such individuals later on.

Like everyone that joined the Dreyan military he would enlist into its armed forces before eventually being raised to the rank of officer; the opinion being that by promoting from within the ranks the quality of the officer pool would be greatly enhanced. Though those that attended military academies tended to have much shorter time requirements before being advanced and were promoted to the lowest NCO ranking. Strangely though, he requested to enlist as a ground pounder vice a naval posting. It is remarked that this decision would allow for him to become more familiar with ground based operations than most Fleet Admirals.

Dreyan Imperial Army (DIA) 2469-2473

Fire Team Pinnacle, his fire team as a newly minted NCO he would do a tour of garrison duty out in the Keraian Belt. While mostly peaceful during his one year deployment his team would be one of the many involved in the Keraian Miners Revolt of 2471. A bloody affair where several Dreyan garrisons were either overrun or attacked by radical Keraian separatist groups. His fire team was recognized for holding off over 200 rioters from damaging a mine whose minerals are critical in the Hydrostrassian fuel process. After the suppression of the revolt all garrison forces involved were quickly relieved and sent back home. All those involved in the supression were later awarded the Keraian Combat Action Ribbon though this drew controversy as reports circulated the revolt had been instigated by one of the Dreyan garrisons and many Keraian colonists that had no involvement with the revolts but were considered to be "troublemakers" disappeared in the following months. Theodor would then finish out his stint in the army and apply for his commission in the Navy in 2473.

Dreyan Imperial Navy (DIN) 2469-2501

DIS Yaoguai (DD-32 Werewolf Class) 2469-2473 (Assistant Weapons Officer) Advanced from OF-1 to OF-2
During this time only major event of consequence was a minor skirmish with pirates in Keraian Asteroid Belt.

DIS Osprey (DD-11 Osprey Class) 2473-2481 (Weapons Officer) Advanced from OF-2 to OF-3
DIS Osprey was one of the many vessels involved in the attempted recapture and capitulation of the Keraian Asteroid Belt War led under a task force commanded by Lower Admiral (OF-7) Eric de Zoran-Valois. The task force was unwisely split and defeated in detail in various suprise attacks across the Belt. Osprey would be crippled in space by a repurposed cargo ship that rammed into its starboard side. Its suicidal charge would have been worse if not Theodor had not acted on his own initiative and shot into the approaching vessel; altering its trajectory enough that it was not a direct collision. Theodor would be one of the few lucky ones to reach an escape pod. Himself and what remained of the crew would be captured by the victorious Keraian forces and held in one of the few POW camps of the war. At the camp he was not treated "kindly" due to the discovery of his role in the 71' Revolt. Thankfully his captivity would be short as the Empire would accept de facto Republican rule of the Belt.

DIS Cepheus (DR-1 Cepheus Class) Appointed to Admiral's Staff 2481-2489 Advanced from OF-3 to OF-5
After his capture by Republican forces, young Thedor was seen by many in command as being the black sheep of the Navy. Many being of the opinion they would have never surrendered to such scum. Though those same men tended be those whose tour of duty never had them set foot near the Belt. Vice Admiral Hayao was not one of those men and saw potential in the young officer.

    NS Nation Name: Voxija
    Character Name: Rachel Guberstein
    Character Gender: female
    Character Age: 32
Character Position: Captain of the Worth the Risk
    Appearance:
Image

    Starship: the Worth the Risk
Main Strengths: A good leader, rather intelligent, quick on her feet, physically strong, and has great people skills.
Main Weaknesses: politically apathetic, prone to fits of temper, a pessimistic outlook, cowardice, and a certain amorality to her character.

Biography: Rachel was born in the seaside village of Garnatiaze, in the south. She was terrible at school, because the lessons bored her. Rachel dreamed of discovering other planets and settling them and naming them after herself, instead of becoming a doctor or a lawyer like her parents wanted her to be.

Rachel amazed her parents by being accepted into a prestigious university in Asthonia. Her teachers hated her, but the other students idolized Rachel for her antics. After two years, Rachel Guberstein applied for a civilian training program for astronauts.

Rachel Guberstein excelled in that, and eventually became a crew member on the Search for Glory. During her tenure there, Rachel noticed a number of errors the captain was making, errors which culminated in the Disaster of 2495. Rachel fixed the problem that caused the disaster and was commended. After her return to Dreyan, Rachel was giving the command of the Worth the Risk, a civilian science vessel meant to explore nearby star systems.

Crew: Rachel has mostly hired criminals who had chosen being part of a starship crew rather than go to prison, so many of them are a little rough around the edges.

First Mate Harald Ranuffsen: a former bank robber who is good with his hands. The only person Rachel really trusts, and they might have some sort of relationship. Harald does some odd jobs around the ship sometimes, but that job mostly goes to the person below.

Engineer Dirm Saagan: a charming former petty thief (and possibly other crimes...) who flirts with Rachel as a joke. Dirm likes making jokes and throwing his weight around, and has been threatened with spacing before. He might know the Worth the Risk better than Rachel Guberstein herself.

Science Officer Lois Vanova: quite possibly the only sane person on this ship. Argues with Rachel a lot, sometimes causing incidents that last for days. Mostly resides in the ship's science lab, where Lois sleeps when she does high-intensive experiments and analysis of samples.

Medical Officer Klaus Reicher: was disgraced at his university for... unlawful experiments. Even Rachel doesn't want to know everything. However, Klaus is an effective doctor who serves the Worth the Risk well.

And others.

So, my last post includes some actions from Voxija that she had hinted at in PM and the most passive response from Nazeroth I could come up with because he did not answer my Telegram nor did I see him in the Discord the last week (I hope it still leaves him options open to come up with another stance should he still be with us and be willing to answer).

Yeah, it does.

Indeed. Do note that your two parties have a total of 245 seats (you need 251 for majority), so you will be a minority government. Independent MPs will give vote of confidence, but apart from that you will need negotiations with either them or one of the other parties (SoC or DFP) to pass legislation.

One of you should probably announce officially the formation of the government between your two parties. Once that is done, I will be creating an Assembly thread.

I kind of thought the entire point of independent MP's was they didn't do this? Here's my issue:

We've reached out the PLP and ProP multiple times offering to work with them. No matter how generous we offer to be, they refuse to even entertain a coalition government with us. Voxija won't even return TG's (not sure what's up with that).

If they don't want to work with us that's up to them, but by allowing them to effectively form a coalition with independent candidates you're completely abandoning the entire point of parliamentary democracy which is that sometimes you have to compromise. Based on how everything the PLP and ProP have done have 100% panned out for them, everything they propose is suddenly popular, etc. while EEEEVERYTHING the DFP has done has either backfired or been totally ignored by you I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that everything they want to pass will be able to attract 6 independent MP's.

Also you originally said that if we couldn't get a majority government there would be a runoff election (my understanding being that the lowest vote-getting party, in this case the SoC, would be eliminated). But now you're changing that?

You basically have a far left party and a FAR FAR left party that somehow managed to get nearly half the votes (?????) and now they get to just do whatever they want despite not having a majority? Really?
