Don’t worry, Wightbonequilo. My intention was always for this to be a one-off, keeping with single-character numerals for all the previous IACs. If I’d been unsuccessful on this occasion and tried again next time, it would’ve been IA11, but IAX just seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since the principle behind my proposed system looks to have wide backing, I’m going to commit to it with one change to the KPB scaling: scaling KPBs down to 21 points max (the same as three straight perfect IACs would award) instead of dividing KPBs in half. Havynwilde, Kohnhead, Schottia, Sharktail, Sylestone and Tequilo—who have not appeared in any of the last three IACs—will be seeded according to their scaled KPBs.
I’ve made this change in response to ESF and VilTur’s valid criticism that the scaling I originally used created a glass ceiling for non-WCC teams and would make it incredibly difficult to virtually impossible for them to compete. The revised scaling tilts the balance firmly in favour of IAC results and—unlike any of the regionals’ rankings—eliminates any gap between the max rating WCC and non-WCC nations can achieve; in fact, when calculating what the rankings would hypothetically look like all the way back to IAC-4 (the first for which three cycles of IAC competition were available), only once would the top rank be held by virtue of KPB in the case of Schottia pre-IAC 5.
This was a difficult decision to make and I’d like to offer a sincere apology to the nations who were bumped down as a result. I want to emphasise that this new system is strictly provisional; its permanent adoption or the adoption of a different system entirely should and will be up to the Indies at-large.
I’ll edit the OP to reflect Juvencus’s entry and the seeding, with the group draw coming tomorrow.
