Quoting and snipping a post just to say "I have you on ignore and so I won't reply to you" seems kind of out there.

How would you know why they were apparently ignoring your posts, given you quoted them and logically would have been waiting for an answer? If they went into every thread you posted in saying "By the way I foe'd you and are ignoring you" it would be a different story -- it seems to be saving you the trouble of expecting a reply in this case.
