My memory isn't perfect, but I seem to recall that mandating elections at all has been considered an ideological ban before?

(OOC: I also remember that with a political representation proposal. However, that was in reference to electing heads of state, not ambassadorial staff. Personally, I don’t see this as an ideological ban. The key element of a non-democratic government is not having the country’s leaders or laws decided by election. Ambassadors don’t directly pass laws or are involved in government.)

Any posts that I make as GenSec will be clearly marked as such and OOC. Conversely, my IC ambassador in the General Assembly is Ambassador Fortier. I’m always happy to discuss ideas about proposals, particularly if grammar or wording are in issue. I am also Executive Deputy Minister for the WA Ministry of TNP.

Read the factbook here for more information; perhaps, I will eventually finish it.

Ambassadors, by representing their government, are however directly involved in setting and influencing government policy.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

I’m not very sure on how WA Resolutions actually impact nations, but this would be a huge change for nations which don’t hold elections. There’s also the possibility that this could be an illegal proposal due to game mechanics. For those reasons I would be against if this came up to a vote.

EDIT: One other thing I forgot to add, I would have the age lower than the mean age since the mean can be old (OOC: The mean age in the irl US is a lot higher than 18, which is the voting age.)

"Opposed. The whole point of the WA is to have an irrelevant place to stick people who can't make in national gover... Hey!"

(OOC: It wouldn’t be illegal for game mechanics, since nothing here affects how the game works, but it would be for ideological ban. In response to comments by GH and Ara, I’ve now changed my mind. Due to how much impact WA ambassadors have on international law and governments, it wouldn’t fit with a dictatorial ideology to have them elected.)
