OOC: In real life, social democracy is somewhat of a mix of both. Social democrats advocate for greater state intervention economically in order to reduce economic inequality. However, they still support a capitalist model, albeit one that is heavily regulated with a strong welfare state. It is most common in Europe, where there are multiple social democratic parties, from SPD in Germany to S/SAP in Sweden. It is sometimes called the "Nordic Model" as well due to social democracy being most popular in Scandinavia.

Democratic socialism leans more on the socialism end, compared to social democracy that leans more on the capitalist end. Democratic socialists wish to attain socialism and end capitalism through gradual, democratic means, rather than violent, revolutionary ones. Some well known socialist leaders include François Mitterand, Mikhail Gorbachev, Salvador Allende, and Jeremy Corbyn.
