I N T R O D U C T I O N


Hankuk Cheolsan (한쿸 철산) is short for Hankuk Cheoldo Saneob (한쿸 철도 산업) but for International purpose, the company name translated as; Hankuk Railway Industry. Hankuk Cheolsan is a major rolling stock manufacturer based in Daegu. We are formed on may 23, 2017 as a subsidiary of Hankuk State Railway which majority shareholder. Hankuk Cheolsan has a focus on producing electric and high-speed trains. We always innovate in implementing railway technology that is environmentally friendly, safety and oriented towards customer design. Not only is known as a rolling stock manufacturer, we also develop railway systems and participate in railroad development projects. we merely want to evaluate the capabilities of our products clearly.

Hankuk Cheolsan is headquartered in Daegu where we were first established. We always apply the principles taught by our nation's ancestors in work activities. so that it is expected to be an encouragement for all company workers to the spirit to produce rolling stocks that continue to improve from the previous. Hankuk Cheolsan has 2 manufacturing plants located in Kaesong and Daegu. Kaesong plant is more focused on producing signal equipment, electricity and rail lines while Daegu plant produces rolling stocks. Even though it was only established a few years ago, all railway lines in Hankuk were built and maintained periodically by us. We are not only looking for profit, but we are also responsible for improving the railway system to maintain the comfort of passengers while traveling with this transportation.

Signaling
Railway signaling is one of the most vital things in the rail transportation system. How not, the signal is a communication medium between the drivers and the train traffic officers. With adequate train travel signal conditions, we can avoid the risk of accidents maximally. We developed Japanese signaling technology in the electronic signaling system that we designed. Our signaling uses led lights to withstand all seasons. Each signal is also mounted with a speed scanner that will detect the speed of the train to increase the safety of this transportation.

Not to be passed. If it is a permissive signal likes block signal, non-blocking operation is allowed, where train can continue at a maximum speed of 15 kilometres per hour (9.3 mph) after certain determined procedure.

Displayed when the distance to the next signal is unusually short, another train is running in advance of the signal or the safety overlap at the next signal is shorter than normal. The speed limit is typically 25 kilometres per hour (16 mph).
Caution | 노트
Displayed when the next signal displays stop. The speed limit is usually 40–55 kilometres per hour (25–34 mph).
Reduced Speed | 천천히해
Displayed when the next signal displays restricted speed (YY) (or caution (Y), in the case of a short block section or poor siting of the next signal). The speed limit is 50–75 kilometres per hour (31–47 mph).
Clear | 타다
Trains may proceed at line speed. For the lines equipped with high speed signal, the speed limit is 130km/h.

Trains may travel over 130 kilometres per hour (81 mph).

Electricity
Because we are focused on producing and developing electric-powered trains, we therefore also strive to design electricity systems that are efficient and oriented to climate change issues. Train electrical system resources are taken from environmentally friendly power plants, such as hydroelectric power plants, solar power plants, wind power plants, geothermal power plants, as well as nuclear power plants with very low radiation levels. We also prefer to work with electricity companies in your country in providing electricity for the railway system that we have built.

Line & Track
The track is the basic thing in the train transportation system. Although there are signals, stations and electrical systems, but if there are no tracks to run, this transportation system will not run as it should. In Hankuk, the width of a train track is standard. we can also install a maximum track size of 1,900 mm and a minimum of 950 mm.

Safety
Safety is an issue that is often discussed in designing a sustainable transportation system. the safety system that we install on our products and our railway system is called "e-Safety Standard". This safety system will detect earthquake vibrations at a minimum of 5.5 SR automatically. e-Safety Standard (e-ss) equipment will report this information to the control center and train drivers simultaneously. Within seconds the train in progress will be stopped by force by the system installed in the train itself. This safety system only works on affected railway tracks, so that railway tracks that do not receive warnings from e-ss will not be disturbed.
