The Collection Collection v2

Postby Giovanniland » Tue Apr 28, 2020 5:50 pm

The Collection Collection v2

Hello all! I am Giovanniland, a card collector, and I recently found the older version of this thread, by Ponderosa, which hadn't been updated for some time. So I offered to continue this amazing project, keeping the original collections and updating them along with adding even more. Here it is: The Collection Collection v2!

DISCLAIMER: All credit goes to Ponderosa for creating the original thread and allowing me to use the previous code and format. This thread was created with their permission to keep this project updated with the newest collections.

Examples of collections that will mostly not be featured here (unless you've gathered more than anyone else):
• My Legendaries/Epics/etc
• My Region-Mates

Examples of collections that will definitely not be featured here:
• My Friends
• My Favorites
• I'm selling these cards, come make a deal

These are perfectly fine collections. But they tend to have a personal, utilitarian purpose. The Collection Collection aims to host general-interest collections only.

For collections with Season 1 and 2 versions, I'll add submissions for the first 3 categories (Rank-Based, Volume and Nation-States Collections). For the other categories, if you own both of them and wish to have both featured, you can simply add the cards to the same collection.

Rank-based Collections: Legendary, Epic, Ultra-Rare, Rare, Uncommon, Common: these are the six card classifications. Sometimes, you may wish to scroll through the entire list of cards, looking for one to catch your eye. These collections strive to make that possible.

Season 1
Every Legendary Card by Koem Kab
Getting all of the 184 legendary cards from Season 1 requires a boatload of cash, an eagle eye on your bids, and most of all, a fleet of farm puppets to finance the collection. This feat has also been achieved by Luna Amore, Mikeswill, Vilita, The Tampa Bay Rays, Elegarth, Ballotonia, and The Northern Light.
Wop's Epic Collection by Wopruthien
A complete collection of all 1,832 season 1 Epic cards: an epic feat indeed! It is also currently the largest completed collection ever.
Pretty in Purple: Every UR by Karen Matheson (puppet of Refuge Isle)
Refuge is pretty close to the 5,498 Ultra-Rare cards she needs for a complete set, with 4,650 already collected.
House of Blues by Mara Jade-Skywalker
With a progress of nearly 80%, this collection holds nearly 10,000 of all 12,828 Season 1 Rare cards.

Season 2
Complete Season 2 Legendary Collection by Feu de Glace
There are less Legendary cards here compared to Season 1, but nevertheless it's an extremely hard challenge to gather them all! This was the first collection to be complete, but other collectors such as The Northern Light, Mikeswill, Noah's Second Country, Ballotonia, and Koem Kab have also completed it.
Season 2 Epics by Mediobogdum II (puppet of Mediobogdum)
An epic collection, just like the rarity of its cards! It has over 1,600 of all 1,681 Season 2 Epics, a progress of more than 95%.
Power to the Purple: Every UR II by An Actual Hurricane (puppet of Refuge Isle)
Refuge's long awaited sequel to Pretty in Purple is very close to completion, being only six cards away to collect all Season 2 Ultra-Rare cards!
Season 2 Rares by S2 Rares Collector (puppet of Noahs Second Country)
With over 11,000 cards, Noah is close to complete the goal of collecting all 11,770 Season 2 Rare cards.

Both Seasons
All Legendary Cards by The Northern Light
Gathering all Legendary cards from one season is hard enough, now imagine two! You can find all Legendaries from both seasons in this collection.
Every Common Card by 9003
9003 is the nation with the most cards in the world, and they have over 100,000 common cards in the collection! However, they're far from holding all common cards from both seasons, a collection that if complete, would add up to over 200,000 cards.

Volume Collections: These collections are recognized for the impressive feat of quantity on top of quantity. In order to make it into this group, you need an extremely large collection united by a single, identical property.
All is default by BuccaRuu
An enormous collection of more than 14,000 default flags! As you might have thought already, the Australian Aboriginal flag is by far the most commonly used in the game.
Giovanniland Galore by Giovanniland
The largest collection of a single card, with 160 copies and growing! Other successful self-collectors can be viewed here.
I AM THE EX-NATION EXTRAORDINAIRE!!! by Destructive Government Economic System
Most nations here have vanished by now, but are registered as cards. This collection houses over 19,000 cards from ex-nations, some of them being the only copy ever found!
Misplaced Aki: The Most Ostentatious Collection by Luna Amore
Composed of many copies of Misplaced States and Aki Zeta, this collection has hit the highest value ever: a whopping 197,803.00 market value in 10th June of 2020. Even if the value falls, it will stay as a relic of the owner's reign as #1 by deck value.
No Badges by I Hate Badges (puppet of Morover)
Here are cards without even one badge - no founders, no easter eggs, not even issue stat badges! Surprisingly, there are over 10,000 nations without badges on total, and this collection has over 500 of those.
Second Best Card Collection by Second Best Card Archive (puppet of Noahs Second Country)
Nearing 1,500 cards, this collection contains any card with a reference to the number 2 in their nation name.
The West Pacific S2 by Giovanniland
Within hundreds of regional collections, this is by far the largest one! It has over 6,700 of all 6,839 cards from the West Pacific. You can also see other regional collections here.
We Even Have DEATed Ex-Nations! by Destructive Government Economic System
A hundred cards of ex-nations that, for one reason or another, are never coming back from what they did.

NationStates Collections: These collections fit into a finite category related to the NationStates universe. It is possible to collect all these cards, but trying to actually join any of these categories? Good luck with that.
Class Cards by The Unified Missourtama States
We'll never get to talk with them, but you can surely collect them! Over 1,200 cards from school nations.
Endcaps: Last Cards of Seasons 1 & 2 by Steampunk Ariel (puppet of Luna Amore)
This collection has each season's last card. New Sequoia and Greatian, both rare cards from CTE nations, are the last for season 1 and season 2, respectively.
GCR Delegates by ROM
A list of politicos and warriors, the powerful nations have earned or took the delegacy of the Game-Created Regions!
GCR Founders by Warzone Codger
Aren't GCRs founderless, you would say? This collection takes advantage of the fact that, while it wasn't possible to change the region in your Season 2 card, there was a 5-day timespan to change your national motto, badges, and some other features.
NS World Cup Winners by Recuecn
The top athletes of the NS sports world, these nations have the honorable distinction of having won the NS World Cup!
The Sports Collection by Drawkland
Another NS Sports collection, but this time, any notable player with significant contributions is listed here.
Top 50 Challenge Ladder by Noahs Second Country
These nations are the best at the Challenge mini-game, added for the 10th NS anniversary.
Top 100 Population by Ballotonia
At the time of the card release, these were the 100 most populous nations in NationStates.
Commended: Season 1 and Season 2 by Samudera and Ballotonia
Here you can find cards of every nation that has been commended by the World Assembly!
Condemned: Season 1 and Season 2 by Samudera and Ballotonia
Much smaller this time, these collections contain all notorious nations have done bad enough deeds to achieve a condemnation.

Massive collections of Delegates, nations that are strong enough to lead a region.
Firsts: Season 1 and Season 2 by Samudera and Pangurstan
An exclusive group of nations who have the highest stat in any World Census category, within both seasons!
GA Authors: Season 1 and Season 2 by Auralia and Ballotonia
Here are the complete collections of every nation who has contributed a resolution to the General Assembly.
Game Volunteers: Season 1 and Season 2 by Ballotonia
Ballotonia has assembled a full list of the admins, moderators, mentors and editors that keep this site running.
Issue Authors: Season 1 and Season 2 by Ballotonia
Think of the issues your nation receives daily. Here are complete collections of all nations that have written at least one issue for NationStates! Another collection by Jutsa also includes co-authors.
SC Authors: Season 1 and Season 2 by Ballotonia
This time we look into the other chamber of the World Assembly! Here are all nations who have written a Security Council resolution.
UN Authors: Season 1 and Season 2 by Ballotonia
Last but not least, you can see all cards of long-time nations who wrote resolutions to the predecessor of the World Assembly in these two collections.

Theme Packs: This category is for collections built around a common theme. Buying up all the dogs you can find? That's a theme pack.
Note: as of 23rd June of 2020, this is now divided into subcategories to become more organized.

Arthouse
Abandon All Hope by Conqueror Worm

The heArtful Collection by Devil Heart
It's hard to get a grip on this collection. You know there's something that ties them together, but there's always an exception when you try to pin down a rule. The curator describes the collection as cards that are mostly hand-drawn, surreal, popping, or with arty abstracts. Furthermore, the author has also made a The heArtful Collection gallery S1, where all flags for these cards can be appreciated in full, without the card overlay.

Plain Color Flags by Ancot
You can find the old Libyan flag here several times over, as well as lots of other exciting, colorful banners!
Second Best Spaces by Noahs Fifth Country (puppet of Noahs Second Country)

Thanks for doing this Gio!

I'd like to mention the Second Best Card Collection here as well since it is nearing 1500 cards of various classifications of the number 2.

Thanks for doing this Gio, this is awesome! I was going to mention my gif collection, but I see it's already up there! I'll let you know when I get both seasons in one collection; I'm only one card away now!

I particularly enjoy Ancot's collection of single-color flags, as well as The Soylent Green Party's "You Suck at Cooking" collection.

A good friend of mine made these collections, which admittedly violate one of the criteria for this list, but I think they're impressive enough to warrant inclusion.

You're welcome! I wish to keep this updated, and I'm glad people like it.

From what I see, you only have a Lazarus collection in your deck, and the OP says no regional collections.

Yes, I replaced some collections because the previous one of that theme wasn't the largest or most complete anymore, and GIFs was one of them. I'll update it when you complete both seasons.
Also, I wasn't expecting you'd link my collections, lol :) I didn't include any of them because 1. no regional collections rule, and 2. it would be biased to include mine but not any other. Of course the size factor highlights them (especially the season 2 version), but it's still a tough decision on whether to add or not, and for now, I'm not adding them unless a lot of people agree that it should be there.

Hi! This is really cool, thanks for reviving it!

Anyway, I’ve actually had my own collection of feline friends going on for a while now: Cats! :3

I can’t compete with Feline Masters, and I’m happy to see Alanis Star in on the game too, but just wanted to say I existed!

Thanks and have a nice day!

I concur - collections of small regions (like mine, lol) aren't worth including, but a collection like yours that's a thousand cards strong, or TNL's version for The North Pacific, has grounds for inclusion.

They are interesting indeed! However, I asked them if it'd be possible to gather all cards in one collection. Like I said in the OP, if anyone can do that instead of having S1 and S2 collections, it would be better.

First of all, I´d like to state, that I´m very glad (and thankful), that the "collection thread" has been continued (especially since my own collection is noticed here  ).
But I couldn´t help, but find some of the noticed collections pretty outdated, as they seem not to have been maintained by their owners for months, thus stagnating; this might be because of the owners running out of space, lost further interest in specific collections, or maybe even decided to stay with "season ones" only. Also some are complete (without any sign for it) or close to this.
Therefore I propose, that these collections should be evaluated by someone (or anyone who likes to announce his own collection) and maybe updated/replaced by bigger/newer ones of the same theme or marked (as some already are) as continued or completed.
I also would like to encourage "theme or other specific collecting players" (and I do know for sure, that there is a whole bunch of them) to announce there collections here (and not to be shy about and wait, if someone else does so), regardless if originally was meant otherwise - because I guess, that otherwise we would miss many interesting and genuine collections (if not someone occasionally stumbles across and find them "showworthy").
And then, I also would like if some of those collectors would renew their postings in the forum and therefore participate more in the open market instead of silently collecting (how should anyone know ?), or relate on private farming or occasional gifts.

Hello! I'm pretty sure I reviewed every collection before posting the thread to update progress. I also removed some that didn't exist anymore, and replaced some who weren't the biggest/most complete in their category anymore. However, if you spot a mistake I left out, feel free to comment here.
I was busy these last days, but I'll double-check soon to see if I missed anything and add the most recent submissions such as yours.
New collections are added by submissions on this thread, but also if I happen to stumble across a collection theme that isn't included yet. If I see a collection that has its theme here already but is bigger than the current one, I'll replace too. I think all of those should stay, even if they're not being updated or are Season 1-only, as long as they're the biggest of that theme. I figure some of these owners don't use the forums a lot, but nevertheless their efforts should be recognized, if they build an unique collection.

Weekly Update!

If you didn't know yet, I'm planning to do a weekly check on all collections, to check if any ceased to exist, and such. Note that I have real life duties so it's not guaranteed, but I'll try to update it as often as possible.
In this update, I revamped the NationStates-themed collection category, adding different seasons to some collections. I also added a few collections that I either randomly found, or were submitted here (the ones below). Note, I'm looking for geographical, real world collections to include, since that category doesn't have that many entries. I'll be searching, but if you know of any large one, feel free to post!

and from the same person a really pretty one https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... card_vault

Added the second one! The first one was too small and ceased to exist, sadly.

I don't know how you'd classify it, but the collections tickles me and could probably be included somewhere. It's a nice curiosity.

I was thinking on whether to include this or not, but I guess it's interesting enough to get a place in the NS-themed collections.

GCR Founders is a novelty, but more substantial collection should be my puppet, Pursuit of Happiness' collection of emotions https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... _happiness

Interesting collection! Not very big but still unique, so I added it.
