Shrug. I don’t like either. But Trump is a unique disaster. I’m not voting for Biden. But the country would be better off if he won.

Unless the Democrats get a senate majority. Leftists will vote for liberals down ballot too. Schumer thanks you for your votes.

Democrats getting a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate is pretty unfathomable at this point.

You need a supermajority to get any legislation through. The Democrats can get a majority easily based on polling. A supermajority is about as likely as Hillary Clinton becoming president in 2020.

Never said I'm voting for Biden, so thanks for shoving words in my mouth.

Besides, guns are illegal in my state anyway, so who sits in the White House literally does not matter to me. I'd still have to lobby local government to repeal the ban; calling that an uphill battle would be a massive understatement.

No state makes all guns illegal, even if the keep you from getting the good ones (but gives them to private security and the police).
What state is that? But I fail to see how voting for a federal “assault weapons” ban makes lifting the state weapons ban (supported by the candidates on the left side of the aisle) any easier.

The Democratic Party is hostile to private (well except for the rich and private security firms) gun ownership. Either pick guns OR the Democrats. Pick one and only one. Not both.

Actually you do not. The filibuster can be ironically overturned with a simple majority vote, and already has been in many cases. It is not a law. Just an increasingly dead tradition.

It doesn't make it "easier," but it doesn't make it harder either. The feds can't ban private ownership of firearms, they can only ban new production and interstate travel.

The filibuster is a loose tradition, nothing more. Several times a simple majority has simply said fuck the filibuster to get something passed. Which they can do. 51 senators can say no filibuster if they want.

Worst case scenario we get the FAWB back which does nothing to prevent private ownership of guns soooooooo

What state is this? But sure Democratic dominated states suck on gun rights. Yet large the left reliable sides with the “liberals” on the gun issue. You might not vote for the gun grabbers but enough of your comrades will so that you still loose your right to self defense.

The GOP seriously sucks balls, but I cannot vote for gun grabbers.

FAWB is old news. The new plan is to put AR's on the NFA and up the fee costs. Guns for the rich, not the poor, so sayeth the liberals.

If you must know, I live in New Jersey.

And, once again, what the feds do really has no influence over gun laws here. Our laws banning guns were challenged, but the challenge was among the big list of 2A cases thrown out by SCOTUS this week.

The FAWB makes sure you cannot buy more of the best guns, only the police and private security can. It does restrict private ownership, while not banning it entirely it still puts you at a disadvantage.

I feel you, although even in New Jersey you can probably buy a bolt rifle.
But yeah, SCOTUS needs to stop refusing to hear gun cases.
Point is the more Democrats win, the fear gun rights you have.

Sure you might not be a one issue voter, but that is a simple fact. The Democratic platform is very much “guns for the rich, not the poor”.

At least the leader of the Democrats doesn't want to destroy America, though.

What we really need is a SCOTUS that actually respects the U.S. Constitution and the rights listed therein. Haven't had one of those in a very long time though.

Again it matters not. As long as leftists vote for liberals, they still enable the liberals. And many will vote for the liberals. And the liberals win. And then fewer police, for gun rights, but never fear the big private security companies and rich will still have all the guns they want.
