You still vote to be disarmed. And thus still end up disarmed.
Never said I'm voting for Biden, so thanks for shoving words in my mouth.
Besides, guns are illegal in my state anyway, so who sits in the White House literally does not matter to me. I'd still have to lobby local government to repeal the ban; calling that an uphill battle would be a massive understatement.

No state makes all guns illegal, even if the keep you from getting the good ones (but gives them to private security and the police).
What state is that? But I fail to see how voting for a federal “assault weapons” ban makes lifting the state weapons ban (supported by the candidates on the left side of the aisle) any easier.
The Democratic Party is hostile to private gun ownership. Either pick guns OR the Democrats. Pick one and only one. Not both.

Unless the Democrats get a senate majority. Leftists will vote for liberals down ballot too. Schumer thanks you for your votes.
You need a supermajority to get any legislation through. The Democrats can get a majority easily based on polling. A supermajority is about as likely as Hillary Clinton becoming president in 2020.

The filibuster is a loose tradition, nothing more. Several times a simple majority has simply said fuck the filibuster to get something passed. Which they can do. 51 senators can say no filibuster if they want.

It doesn't make it "easier," but it doesn't make it harder either. The feds can't ban private ownership of firearms, they can only ban new production and interstate travel.Novus America wrote:The Democratic Party is hostile to private gun ownership. Did you completely miss where I never said I'm voting for Biden?

Worst case scenario we get the FAWB back which does nothing to prevent private ownership of guns soooooooo
But I guess keep fearmongering if you don't care about facts

What state is this? But sure Democratic dominated states suck on gun rights. Yet large the left reliable sides with the “liberals” on the gun issue. You might not vote for the gun grabbers but enough of your comrades will so that you still loose your right to self defense.
The GOP seriously sucks balls, but I cannot vote for gun grabbers.

FAWB is old news. The new plan is to put AR's on the NFA and up the fee costs. Guns for the rich, not the poor, so sayeth the liberals.

If you must know, I live in New Jersey.
And, once again, what the feds do really has no influence over gun laws here. Our laws banning guns were challenged, but the challenge was among the big list of 2A cases thrown out by SCOTUS this week.

Actually you do not. The filibuster can be ironically overturned with a simple majority vote, and already has been in many cases. It is not a law. Just an increasingly dead tradition.

I feel you, although even in New Jersey you can probably buy a bolt rifle.
But yeah, SCOTUS needs to stop refusing to hear gun cases.
Point is the more Democrats win, the fear gun rights you have.
Sure you might not be a one issue voter, but that is a simple fact. The Democratic platform is very much “guns for the rich, not the poor”.
