[R] Possible trolling/trollbaiting in the GA

Postby Auralia » Wed Apr 01, 2020 12:30 pm

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=482785

I think it's pretty clear that the above proposal (and frankly this one from a while back too) is not being made in good faith, for the reasons I describe here. Both were clearly drafted to elicit a particular reaction from a group of people that the proposers evidently hold in contempt.

While both are probably legal under GA rules, I thought they might violate one of the OSRS rules, such as the "trollbaiting" rule, and wanted to bring them to moderation's attention.

Even if they don't violate the rules, I think moderation and/or admin should carefully consider the impact that this kind of behaviour has on GA gameplay.

I'm not ruling on a proposal titled "Abortionplexes for All" on April Fool's day.

If it's still around and being seriously pursued in a few days, we can take a look into your report.

I do not believe the date of submission is relevant in this case.

IA has argued that it is not a joke proposal for the purposes of GA rules. Two members of GenSec have ruled it legal.

I do. As I said, ask again in a few days if it's still being pursued.

Any chance we could get a ruling on *my* proposal? It is not active, but I have not abandoned it.

The proposal is still in the queue three days later.

Is any action going to be taken on this?

I'm confused what action you would like to be taken? The April Fools version had been replaced by a normal proposal sometime in early April, right?

The "April Fools" version of the first proposal stayed in the queue for days after April 1st, indicating that it was not a joke proposal. In any event, the submission of joke proposals is illegal.

I would like the mods to clarify whether either proposal linked -- at the time when the report was made -- violates the trolling or trollbaiting rule.

There is always some leniency for levity around April Fools - that's why the SC saw the dubious "Condemn This Game" - which went and passed.

Neither of the proposals linked look illegal.
