In recent days, Caelapes, the incumbent, enjoyed a first or second-place in round 1. He has begun to slip, albeit it is still generally presumed he'll get far. However, could his election chances be in jeopardy with this new piece of evidence showing his homophobic and racist sympathies? There is very clear evidence, right here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=60396&p=2629909#p2629909, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=60396&p=2629862#p2629862 and viewtopic.php?f=20&t=60396&p=2629827#p2629827 showing his pejorativity towards the word gay and towards his racist Latinophobic inclinations. Let's break his statements down, and explain why they are racist or homophobic in nature. Let's make two sections:
CAELAPES IS A HOMOPHOBE
Let's move on to the first problematic statement: his use of the word gay as a pejorative. Now this might seem only mild to you, yet it is much worse than you think. The use of the word in that way implies that somehow, to him, it is an insult to be gay. It shows just how much he is casually homophobic, and how little regard he actually has for the rights of LGB people. It also shows a callous inconscentiousness, one that is surely not wanted in a leader...
CAELAPES IS A RACIST
He also made racist comments, assuming people's race via name alone. This seems like an "SJW" concern, but let me assure you it is not. The names themselves were confirmed to be white in origin and the specific people concerned to be white. The specific context under which the remarks were said makes it even more worrying: his assumption that the criminals were Latino in nature suggesting a prejudice, whether conscious or subconscious, against Latino people, in the form of believing in their criminality.
It is obvious, therefore, no matter where you lie on the political spectrum, Caelapes is unfit to be Secretary-General.
