Does your nation back up the currency with a precious metal? If so, what's the exchange rate? If not, does your precious metals have a certain value?

In AAL, we use fiat currency, but gold is worth 550 dollars per ounce.

[Violetism]

Our national currency is the violettor, and it is backed by the power and authority of the Great Goddess Violet. The Order of Violet, the Great Goddess Violet's representatives in the world of mortals, creates the currency in Her name. Each unit of the currency represents a unit of Her power, and because Her power is infinite, the currency is theoretically infinite as well. The Order maintains strict minimum wages and maximum prices across the nation through a centrally planned economy. Issues of inflation do not occur because the very idea of applying inflation to violettors is blasphemous. Anyone who would claim that the individual value of a violettor has decreased due to inflation would be committing blasphemy because such a statement would also imply that the power of the Great Goddess Violet has decreased, since violettors are units of Her power. Likewise, violating the minimum wage or maximum price laws would also be blasphemous, because these rules were set by the Order in the name of the Great Goddess to ensure the prosperity of Her nation.

Due to this method of managing our currency, no foreign nations wish to trade with us in it. Therefore, we use the standard NationStates dollar or other popular currencies when dealing in international trade. However, there is no conversion rate between violettors and any other currency.

Fiat currency, and 1 NA pound is equal roughly to 1 USD/NSD.

[Viridest]

Viridest uses Fiat currency, which is backed by the Federal Bank. 1 Virid (VD) is equal to 1 New Zealand Dollar (NZD).

Valentian Credit, backed by the Valentian Monetary Authority itself. For all intents and purposes, it's backed by a small amount of diamonds embedded throughout the notes, though this does not mean that the people can blend and melt the notes down to get the diamond bits; it's illegal, of course!

[Gandoor]

The gdyn is a fiat currency and has not been backed by any commodity since our nation left the gold standard in the early 20th century. The current exchange rate between the gdyn and the US$ is 1 GDY = US$2.03.

[Lillorainen]

Officially, the Lillorainian Mark (LLM) is a fiat currency, deriving its value from the general trust of the Lillorainian people into it, as well as some foreign national banks using it as a reserve currency. Yet, the Lillorainian National Bank also keeps relying on material values in addition to back the LLM, by keeping gold reserves. In 2019, the LNB held a reserve amount of 4479.22 metric tons of gold, tendency rising.
As of March 29, 2020, the price of one ounce of gold amounts to 1,350.45 LLM (1,627.05 USD).

[Zhouran]

The Zhouranese Yuan is strongly backed by reserves that mainly consists of gold, platinum and palladium. Zhouran is highly rich in minerals and has massive reserves of gold, platinum and palladium. In fact, Zhouran has the world's largest reserves of each of the three aforementioned precious materials.

One litre of 99.9% pure platinum from the Supreme Bank of Zhouran, sized at around 40x25, manufactured into 1cc cubes to 5 micron accuracy, worth about NS$709,000.00 (ZN¥267,070.52) at March 30, 20XX prices

The kal, the currency of Voxija, is fiat currency, backed only by faith in the government.

[Thermodolia]

The Therma is a fiat currency however the Thermodolian National Bank has substantial reserves of rare metals such as gold, sliver, platinum, palladium and resources such as crude oil, uranium, and copper.

The Tinhamptonian Dollar (1TID = 1GBP) is backed by YOUR faith in the system! Praise be to Steve Douglas the greatest myth in Tinhamptonian history! Or the second-greatest... or the third-greatest... we think.

Caveat: Our one-dollar coin is made out of silver.

[Aikoland]

The Aikolandais franc is a fiat currency and has been since we permanently left the gold standard in 1938.

[Greater Cosmicium]

The Imperial Credit is a fiat currency, but it was backed by an Intergalactic Gold Reserve until the Great Cosmician Rebellion.

In 1072914, its exchange rate was 1 IC to 1.709 USD. In the morning of 18 May 1072917, it was 14,065 IC to 1 USD due to hyperinflation caused by excessive printing of money to cover mounting expenses while revenues collapsed. For this reason, the economy of Greater Cosmicium is expressed in 1072914 C.E. Imperial Credits, not the current inflated Imperial Credits.
