This isn't help with this nation I'm on, but rather the 30 puppet states I have.

I use a chrome extension called Nationstates++ which I used to hold all of my puppets and never really bothered to write down their passwords, until I recently restarted my Computer for an update and all of my puppets were gone and I can't recover them, since I never bothered even filling in the email in the settings.

According to the Nationstates++ home page the extension stores the names and passwords on your computer:

The Nation Puppet Switcher only stores nations & password information locally in your browser local storage. This information is never transmitted anywhere, and never leaves your computer. In addition, I do not collect or monitor sensitive personal information or other identifying information.

I don't use that extension, but i suggest looking for a file containing this information in your local storage folders...
If you can't find it, maybe someone who knows more about the technical details of NS++ can help you. Or you can always send a telegram/mail to the developper of NS++ (contact details on their homepage).

It's not a gameside issue, it's an extension issue. NS++ has the ability to backup and restore lists of nations. If you don't use that feature, or put a recovery email on your nations, you're going to have unrecoverable failures. That's not a technical problem, that's a user problem.

I use NS++ and I keep my nation list in cloud storage - Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox. Local storage ALWAYS fails eventually. Plan for it.

I was more meaning in terms of possible password recovery, as that seems to be what the OP wants. I'm aware the problem was caused by the extension, or rather the OP's use of it, but resolving the problem of password recovery is a gameside issue rather than a forum issue, which is what I was pointing out.

I understand, but we don't do that. You have two, and only two, proofs of ownership. If you can't remember your password and you don't set a recovery email, you lose your nation. That's a user problem, not a technical problem.

Indeed. I was aware of that, but thought I'd point in the direction of the GHR anyway on the offchance there was anything that could be suggested.
