18th Century RP (RP discussion thread)

Hello and welcome I guess.

Just here to post a little something to gauge an interest in people who may want to do an 18th century RP of sorts. This can be a completely historical RP or something that is a bit more Alt-history but I will see what people will want. If anyone has an OP or CO-OP experience and would like to help out they are more then welcome to help out with this.

But all in all I know this is bare bones right now just wanting to see if people would be interested in something like this and we can discuss ideas.

Well that was what I was trying to gather what sort of scenarios would be interesting to see? maybe something like what if the diseases didn't affect the Natives of the Americas resulting in a strong native peoples. Or even maybe the Ottomans dying in their infancy. Just shouting ideas right now

If you like somewhat more outlandish ideas...

The Han Empire collapsed in the 3rd Century and the Roman Empire mostly collapsed in the 5th. Historically, the Chinese managed to put together their country and have a long series of unified empires, while the Europeans never managed to put Rome back together again.

What if this was the other way around? Justinian successfully restores the Roman Empire to the Rhine, resulting in a Europe of small inwards-looking tributary states orbiting around a vast, wealthy, but stagnant empire, while East Asia never puts itself back together, developing into a dozen little competing feudal states, exploring and colonising the world to lay the seeds of the industrial revolution.

It’s an idea I’ve been trying to develop into an RP or my own, but if someone else feels like saving me the trouble and running the idea that themselves... well, feel free.

That would be interesting to see. It would leave a lot for historical interpretation since if that was to occur the dynamics of people, nations and even religion since I am guessing Islam would probably never have got the traction it had in real life. However we will see because this idea will basically have a huge gap in time since to be around 10+ centuries of history that will need to be discussed.

The franco-Prussian war was in the late 19th century not the 18th do you mean another war?

True, but most of it can be left sparse, and what does need to be present can just be left to the roleplayers to write in their applications. It’s generally customary that a player applying for a nation write the history for that nation.

I know but I think it would leave too much for people to be clear on what sort of world it is if you know what I am saying
