OOC: I'd also like to point out that the NS multiverse has sapient creatures other than humans. There are nations whose citizens are non humans which is a reason defining 'animals' in relation to humans doesn't work in a WA resolution.

Medwedgrad doesn't acknowledge the existence of sapient non-humans, but even if we would acknowledge it, it would not change the main argument for my disagreement with this resolution.

OOC: That's fine. Its your vote, what you do with it is no one's business, and truth be told, the definition could have been easily rectified by simply adding a 'of a non sapient species' after the 'non sapient being'. But just know that this definition can not become a basis for any future redefinition of 'human' due to the way definitions work in WA proposals and even if someone did try to experiment on human fetuses or people in coma, they are gonna have pretty big non-compliance related trouble.

Agualia believes that this is an exceptionally well-written resolution with the aims of improving our world, not only for us but for all beings calling this land home. Agualia would like to thank all nations that participated in the creation of this great resolution.

The hivemind's bipedal, partially see-through plant creature was, in some people's minds an improvement to an innocuous potted plant suddenly unfurling a speaking apparatus from what you had thought to be a flower bud, while others were likely somewhat creeped out, especially as it was even more difficult for them to understand that the creature they saw and heard speak, was not a single individual, but rather the interface to a vast intelligence currently spanning several planets in different universes, aware across all of its bodies, no matter if they were sessile like any other plant, mobile and resembling animals, or strange hybrids of the two, like its current "ambassador".

"The problems with treating all animals as animals, while some are sapient and some aren't, is not as great as you would like us to believe, ambassador," it said. "And whether you believe in other sapients existing or not, we are as real as you. For example, I currently work with and for at least twelve different sapient species, out of whom only five are human, and even they evolved in different universes, so calling them the same species is nonsensical. Additionally, you have to remember that if you would like to classify other sapients as animals instead, what is there to stop them doing the same to you in turn? Fortunately, under the existing resolutions of the World Assembly, you cannot renounce the sapiency of others any more than you can renounce your own sapiency, and so you, and they, are safe and cannot be classified as animals. I was never an animal to begin with, yet I am a sapient and thus afforded all the same protections under WA law as you are. Like I said, it is not as difficult as you make it sound like."
