Alright boys and girls, Steve here with another write on my predictions for the upcoming 2030 FLOX Omega Division season. As we know the off season has been packed with some huge news and huge pay days as the Xannerian teams have participated in Open Season for transfers and free agents. Most notably Receun National Team member Hippolyte Lavigne transfer to the Hawthorne Kickers. So how do I think the 20 teams in the FLOX Omega Division will finish? Here we go!

20th - ISC Catalan City

Comments: Alright the big stories here? Well they did win the Beta Division, with a final surege over the last ten weeks. But can they hang with the big boys? They have talent such as Native Jox Alirome, the first native of either Augonny or Catalan to become a captain of a team. ISC did bring in Gorkhan Farsjo of the SRS as a Midfielder, to supplant Alirome. Unfortunately even with them claiming a stake in the foreign talent goldrush, I just don't see them climbing into permanent Omega Division status

Comments: Ah, the Immortal little Brother, always up in arms over Bearden and their shenanigans, West Hills I think is gonna slip even more this year. Using a reliance on the rare attacking midfielder, that can help them, but more hurt has been brought on by intercepted passes from the midfield as the team lead the league in turovers on passes. Look out for Rex Coyle though, if he gets the ball he's dangerous, just getting him the ball will be the issue. Jurg Haahr of Cosumar is also going to compete for best defender in the FLOX.

Comments: Nick Nimbo's talents are being waisted. I'll come out and say that up front. Nimbo is the starting Keeper for Starcom and granted that hasn't always been the best gig (see the CEXXV), he's been a consistent rock for the Dolphins. But the rest of the team I can't say much about. They finished rock bottom in scoring last year and Nimbo single handedly kept them afloat that year. I could see him doing that again, but if he doesn't get more offensive support he's probably going to request a transfer. Though the team did go out and get a young player named "Bumi" from the unproven but talent rich nation of Quincy. We can also hope them becoming the first team to sign a Xannerian Female player will also give them good karma as they did sign University of Tacoma star Ava Summersteen to a deal.

17th East Rowe

I still think they'll just do more of the same and barely stay afloat. They did go out and sign Parvizdzhon Borrowfield from Iskandervale

Comments: So you think having your rival get demoted might make you guys a more valuable pick right? Well poor AC is barely a step ahead of the MetroStars. With the inevitable Injuries and age catching up to the once gloriuos power of Xannerian football, you'd think a team that has been loaded with money would make a splash. But there in lies the problem, they tried to make a spash, but they went in the wrong direction in doing so. They went after several foreign players but only returned Diedrich Frostmarris an aging Nepharite defender and Markus Purver of the ex-Polynesian squad Honalulu King's in Starcom. The problem being many players no very little about FLOX so, being an uncertain quantity, there's some trepidation amongst foreigners, even one's with money like AC. Maybe next year will see the team rebound but this will definitely be an off year for the Lavs'

In doing so they got two proven commodities in young Appalachian defender RUss Oakwood a surefire tackler and bruser who made the Appy U21's last year and Bryce Knight, last years Wysterian player of the year. Coming in is midfielder Revan Moor, a siginifcant signing do to Moor being a Satyr, the first non-human to play in the Omega Division. Hopefully they can make it as they are in the 10-20 range and thats a tough, tooth and nail fight to play in.

13th Hawthorne United

They made some moves that could get them there but was it enough? Sigmund Howson is on a one year "show me what ya got" contract and local college stars Vang Wa and Colt Henderson were signed to much praise from the fans who watched them play at UDH. Gareth Ironside could also break into the Starcom National Team depending on this season, so we'll follow him in that category. Also look for Kalle Hatteunen to break out.

12th Mainland FC

Otherwise this team is fairly midpack and it will be interesting to see how the Gould Straight Derby goes this year with Islandside lagging behind more.

THat is the big question here as this team is fully loaded but are they going to be more of a danger to the league or themselves.

How did we get here?

The FLOX season is over and as I write the most of the IFCF stuff is just getting underway. What we got with this season of FLOX was a wonderful season full of storylines, surprises, and old friends returning to the top. So with out further ado, I will be posting a short bit about each team and a synopsis about there season, teams are gonna be in bold.

Well we're gonna start the report from the top and talk Galaxy SC. When FLOX first announced they would partake in the UACL it looked with about one month to go that our first reprsentitive would be the Hawthorne based Galaxy Sporting Club. But as we all know, they fell apart in the last month to an extent of comical proportions. But now three years later they beat the odds and made the newly rebranded IFCF Champions league. Right now as of this writing they have tied New Bremen FC 2-2 in a late game shootout in the first stage of the IFCF Champions league. The Galaxy brigade was lead by a Richard Presintino, a NT Star in the making, and his accomplish, the A Mushroom Kingdom striker "Pete" a promising Koopaling striker.

An even bigger shock might be second place Rome Beach. Long the second of two fiddles in the teams name sake city, the Tigers made it out of relegation season before last on GD, but with smart acquisitions of surprising talent such as Mareth Erseburg and Naranbaatarjiin Aztai at striker and a defense lead by the brutal duo of Kasumi Maki and Pitran Durano and Goalie Pacqui Johnson kept Rome Beach in games with spectacular ball handling skills and great defense.

Pearlham SC showed that last years disaster was directly tied to the loss of Mark Hailey as this years version showed off great defense with a division low 62 goals conceded. a stout defense with a old-school international star in Othello Murcutt of Brenecia. The venerable 36 year old Murcutt lead a defense that allowed only 62 goals and now naturalized, Qusmi, goalkeeper Jralv-Vlont Abe was able to swat almost everything away at will.

Delano City SC, one of the great consistent teams in Xanneria has had its share of fun int he spotlight and their 4th place finish was lead by star defender Clayton Farmer of the Appalachian National Team, and all-rookie in GK Rick Honeycutt, an XCAA veteran and star at the University of Delano.

Just missing the IFCF qualifications this year were the United Marietta FC Gorillas. I think the ruling theme of this team will be "What if Zach Quinn wasn't hurt for a large portion of the season". Collins missed out on a month and a half and it showed as Eddy Peralta for as good as he is, could not carry the load alone for UMFC and so they could only pull into 5th place at the end.

6th place Northshore FC was a pleasant surprise! lead by Cooter Harris in Goal and a strike force lead by Brian Figgins and Mitchell Benson, made for a potent duo who helped their team to exceed most of our expectations. With a young corp at the disposal, they are also looking to the international scene with Caner Turan of Timuria in their sights for a transfer.

A team that didn't meet their own expectations is Ferryman's 11. The Rome Beach based team wasn't awful but when your rival in-city goes from barely missing elimination to passing you up. Between that and Mehmet Karaman busting big time, means there will be changes to the Ferryman. New coach Lee Rothguild will put in a more traditional international 3-4-3 system. We'll see how those changes effect the Ferryman next year.

Another team going through some significant changes in the regime are East End FC. After a surprise run through the Challengers Cup did wonders from the team in terms of fan pride and a boost in energy, but it wore the EEFC team down in the long run and now legendary coach and NT Coach Amos Alton retired, it's a rebuilding period for the boys in McAnally. The brightside is that veteran Vilitan striker Wizstana Iretziia did well even in his advanced age of 36. Many in the league honestly thing that 'Wiz' could play deep into his 40s.

Another team that won't have much to talk about this season is Bearden FC. They've been quiet the last few years when all other teams have been talking and it will be interesting to see how the team moves on this offseason with other teams more and more trying to become international players.

Given that most experts, two years running, thought they'd finish bottom five, ISC Catalan City has proven themselves among the fans and writers alike after another solid finish. lead by a native son (literally) in captain Jox Alirome, a member of the Catalinic tribe, the Islanders have shown themselves as having one of the better midfields in Xanneria as Gorkhan Farsjo and Bryan Dandridge make up a solid mid field core along with follow Squorn player Moray Banerman on defence.


Remember three years ago when Austin City was good? Yeah those days may be numbered if rapid changes aren't made soon. It's been weird for the Limitless. Devon'elle Laymore has always been a fantastic player and Bustip Newman has been an excellent partner at Striker, but the issue has been a slightly subpar passing corp in the midfield. Drew Zonta and Lumina Davis need to step up their passing game in order for Austin City to step up to the next level. If the team can show any form of consistency passing then we could see the Limitless back in the top 5.

Islandside FC was the winner of the overall Velstin Point derby, behind Bumi of the no defunct nation of Quincy and Ava Summerstein, the Islandside Dolphins looked good, but occasional drops to teams below their ranking hurt the Dophins as the could only muster up a mild 12th place.

Rival Mainland FC didn't do much better. even with Peter Branson being one of the stars from the territories and arguably their best player, Mainland couldn't get ahead of rival Islandside. Look out for Mainland in the future though, they are usually aggressive in finding foreign players so they will attack at the transfer window.

Hawthorne Kickers, boy what your season could have been..... The Rocco Burns expirement failed miserably, and when he finally got injured it only further sped downhill for the kids in red. Hippolyte Lavigne might be one of the best internationals in Xannerian football but even his league leading goal count, couldn't overcome the injuries that plagued the keeping sport and lead to an immensely high 84 goals allowed! There is hope with the Kickers though, early transfer reports are that they are pursuing a goal keeper in either Gentza Bedigax or Kulap Erer.

Hawthorne United wasn't much better than Kickers. Simgmund Howson looked great in goal for the United, but man there was little help from anyone else as a pitiful 70 goals were scored in 38 games by a tepid front four. It looks as if there will be some significant changes to the Supernovas in the year or so to come.

I know I said that the Kickers had problems rebounding from injuries, but man I think Capital FC had it worse. Star Strikers Bubba, Reuben De Meester, and Henry Clay-Thorton had 5 games together on the front lines of Capital FC football. if that doesn't say anything about this team I don't know what does. Especially sad is that Richard Hartwell, a Flavovespian NT member was playing lights out for Cap FC and has nothing to really show for it.

Dursten Easterners know the Capital FC teams pain. Laurens Desainctvictori may not be a household name yet in Xanneria but that might have more to do with there long and complex last name than there skill, they did amazing work and have the looks of a top flight goal keeper for much of the future. The rest of the team on the other hand struggled and left poor Laurens for more than naught.

Now we get into the two teams that will not be in the Omega division next season.

Alexandria City is a much better club than they let off as, but with the team in a free fall and them still retaining manager Stu Bucholtz you know that something will have to break at the top for AC to get any form of results.

Now we must talk about the Waddell Northerners. This team struggled mightily. And by stating that I think I'm in contention for "understatement of the year". No team was even close to the level of awful defense the Northerners showed and you see the effects of this in the behavior of the two Betta League promotion teams. Shoerterville AC and Sporting New Arch, two teams that come from similar backgrounds to Waddell. Unlike the Northerners they attempted to improve and both went after free agents and transfer with more gusto than Waddell. Will SAC and SNA go anywhere next season? That is to be seen, but it will be interesting to see how the continued growth of Xannerian football parlays into international competition and the upcoming qualifiers for the world cup.
