Someone probably already mentioned that you leave out a lot of important details from your heavily bias op - a lot of that was made up to justify repression since the CPUSA were rather active in funding the Civil Rights Movement (and its involvement lasted a LOT later than you give it credit for with organizing, training, and working with several prominent leaders) and advocating for other social movements like that - with regional branches being responsible for a lot as well, such as pushing Hawai'i away from its rather oligarchic rulership that it had been under after the US-backed coup that led it becoming a territory.

It should also be mentioned that you seemingly didn't even do your proper research as the CPUSA was already, as has probably been mentioned, outlawed as part of the 'Communist Control Act' - which was a broad-sweeping act that hit a lot of left-wing organizations. The act was, in fact, never repealed though its effectively unenforced. Hell, the 'Communist Manifesto' was even banned. I think the implications of your sig sum it up perfectly (Neither China is anything other than an authoritarian occupying force, and HK wants a lot more than just being part of another government that will use them) - its just gaslighty nonsense.


I think a lot of it is way too much to get to in these forums though, which I really shouldn't even be posting on given that this is blatant trolling.

I was seriously questioning his motive for an OP demanding a mostly irrelevant political party that has committed no recent crime and is filled with undercover FBI operatives be banned and its members arrested, as a review of the thread will show. As such I could not help but feel that it was little more than some insincere performance art and stated as such. He seems to be trying to censor criticism by abusing the trollnaming rule. I didn't go "He's a troll" and leave the thread just like that.

You may not agree with that motivation, and you're free to suspect it's not my true motivation, but that hardly justifies outright accusing me of being a troll regardless of how you phrase it.

As to your other reports, we are not going to offer a blanket expansion of trollnaming based on every case of eye-rolling snark. If you think someone is trolling you via snark, then by all means report that on that basis; we're certainly very willing to consider those on a case by case basis. But trollnaming will continue to refer narrowly and specifically to one-word or short one-sentence dismissals of a post that use the word 'troll', or close variant thereof.

I'm sorry, but not responding to reports is ignoring it. Imagine if someone reported a crime to a police officer and they ignored it because they didn't think it was illegal.

Except he quite literally admitted to troll-naming twice. Both in the original discussion thread - which I had linked in the OP - and again here, in this very report thread; the only post he made here, admitting to & defending his troll-naming in both cases because of my account's name which has the word "Troll" in it, which is actually referencing an inside meme.

So what you're essentially saying is so long as we word it cleverly and use enough words it's okay to troll-name? I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. I don't like being called a troll and I think it's in bad form to ignore it just because it's phrased a certain way.

We leave it open to give other mods a chance to have a different opinion. Despite the rumors, we are NOT a hivemind. Some of us have independent thoughts on occasion.

I read every post in this forum, but I only respond if I think the report breaks a rule or requires acknowledgement. If no mod thinks it's actionable, yes, it drifts off the page looking ignored. That doesn't mean it wasn't seen, but it does mean it's generally not actionable.
