35 minutes, presumably, until the funding lapses and the government shuts down. The House passed the bill, but Trump still has to sign the stopgap funding bill. He hasn’t.

The impeachment inquiry definitely makes an agreement hard, but the only thing stopping a government shutdown is Trump signing the bill. Again, he hasn’t.

Trump signing the bill (it’s 11:25 PM in DC of course he won’t be doing so) is the only thing standing between peace and anarchy.

A few friends of mine work at the National parks and I went to work/hang out with them a week back. On the office calendar was just the words shutdown probably on the 21st and a vague question mark on the scheduled for that week.

Government agencies and thus employees will stop being payed and many will not be allowed to go back to work past Thursday midnight until a spending bill is set.

Tomorrow night and no, it's not anarchy. The last time people were told not to come to work, national parks and museums were closed, some other things, but the mail was delivered, the armed forces stayed on the job, etc. You could look this up, you know.
