I think that confuses the issue. There is not to my knowledge a situation where society is willing to talk about a problem but is unwilling to talk about it or hostile to discussion of it as it relates to women. The only times discussion of an issue is permitted to focus on men is when men are being looked at as the problem. I mean I guess there's an assumption that child soldiers are boys but when someone says "yeah like 40% of child soldiers are girls" nobody scoffs and dismisses it like they do when you point out there are about as many men raped in a year as there are women.

Of course it's more efficient - and emotionally logical - to create things like this to tackle issues which only, or mostly, apply to men.

Depends on the members of the council and what they put forth. Neut put together a decent list and that would be hard to be against.

While Farrell announced it was approved, that doesn't mean it's still approved after Trump turns around a couple times. I've been searching for this in the news over the last several days. Nada.

So I can totally see where it was "approved" by Trump, but the advisors are quietly just shoving it under the rug and hoping it goes away. Or the reverse, an advisor approved it and now Trump will forget about it and we'll never see it. Or, Trump approved it today but never approved it tomorrow. Any of those are possible.

It's a shame. My views of Trump and his people; make me think this will not happen as he is more concerned about publicity then actually solving things. Be best after all.

Trump could have been brilliant and put for a Council of Gender issues. Rotate the chief position between the two genders., etc.

There is common ground. For example, mental health is not a gender only thing. This country has always been rather mediocre on that front. How many people would support a leader who had manic depression problems. These people have to live in the proverbial closet. How much crime would be reduced if there was a proper program. Many questions could be evaluated.
