Beçonailles
Thanks to an initiative by the new Reçuecian Ministry of Sport, founded only a year ago, the Championnats Nationaux de Reçueçn de Tennis, held annually in the beautiful city of Beçonailles, will for the first time accept foreign players in competition this year. The tournament, held on clay courts, includes both a singles and a doubles competition, but makes no distinction based on gender or other criteria. Les Championnats, usually simply referred to as 'Beçonailles,' after the city where they are held, takes place each summer and historically strong performance here has been a prerequisite for any Reçuecian player to claim their dominance. Beçonailles' heritage goes back many years and comes with many quirky traditions, but this year for the first time, changes are being made.
The opening up of this "National Championship" to foreigners is thanks to the direct involvement of the brand new Reçuecian Ministry of Sport. The very first minister in this new position, in fact, worked in Beçonailles previous to his new position, and so is very happy to see what was already the nation's premier tennis tournament become hopefully even bigger.
So, some tennis players in your nation have been champing at the bit for a chance to show their stuff in a tournament format? Here's what you need to know...
This is essentially a domestic competition which I am opening up for outside participation, which can be seen in some of the factors. I plan to hold it regularly (every time I scorinate my domestic football league) and if it is successful, keep rankings so that participation is a little more rewarding in the long-term. The domestic origins of this tournament have a lot of impact on its format; specifically, I am aiming to keep it pretty small. Since it is originally a Reçuecian tournament, although my players will not be receiving any sort of home advantage in scorinating, I will be rounding out numbers myself if necessary by including more of my own entries.
Entry guidelines: Every nation is allowed up to four singles entries and two doubles entries. (The singles entries and doubles entries do not need to be the same players.) Similar to the olympics, each nation can distribute skill values among their entries. You have 50 points to assign per entry, up to 300 points between 6 entries. Each entry must be given a skill value between 25 and 100.
Please include a trigram with your entry.
Miscellaneous: The tournament will be a single-elimination tournament, and I am aiming for 64 IC contestants for the singles tournament (32 doubles). I will be using xkoranate, and assigning cumulative rp bonus to those who post rps in this thread. Ranks based on performance in this tournament wlil be used for the next edition. IC, the tournament is on a clay court.
The ranking system for future editions is mostly laid out but I won't bother with it here.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and submit your entries here!
Edit: I'll drop in an application form here since that might make things easier for people. Just take out everything in brackets and replace it.
