What would your citizens do?

Postby Andocara » Wed Nov 13, 2019 10:37 pm

This is a reboot from an old thread that existed long ago.
What would your country's citizen do in these situations below, if they happen to be nearby or related in some way?
If one or more of these situations do not happen in your country because of laws or any other reasons, just write "N/A."

Code: Select all
An elderly person being unable to afford medication:
A young teenager being unable to afford medication:
A homeless (or poor) person abused by a rich person or several rich people:
A rich person abused by a homeless person or several homeless people:
A homosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences:
A heterosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences:
A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink):
A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child:
An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person:
An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person:
A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person:
A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester:
A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth:
A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s):
A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s):

An elderly person being unable to afford medication: n/a (we have chips that monitor our internal health)
A young teenager being unable to afford medication: n/a
A homeless (or poor) person abused by a rich person or several rich people: "How corrupt have we gotten?"
A rich person abused by a homeless person or several homeless people: "Call the police!"
A homosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: "This is so stupid. I hope these people get charged with a civil offense. This is 2019!" (Civil offense is pretty much the Andocarian equivalent to a hate crime.)
A heterosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: "Now these people have taken it too far!"
A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink): "Poor child. He's just so different from the others.", doesn't bully the child but at the same time isn't friends with them either.
A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child: Thinks "Wow people have no sense of respect. These people have severe issues.", tries to befriend the bullied child and make them happy to make the others look bad.
An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: "Hey just to let you know, what you did was caught on camera and you don't want the A.N.P.D after you. You wouldn't even make it back home before they arrest you!"
An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: *Assumes they did it by accident and tells them that it's their's.
A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: If it were their own child, most would make the child return the stolen item to the owner, and then punish the child when they get home. If it wasn't their child, they'll notify someone else.
A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester: "Welp, it's their choice..."
A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth: "That must have been a hard decision for her to make."
A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s): Gives them a strange look, or/and becomes uncomfortable.
A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s): "Did they know what they were getting themselves into? Just because it's acceptable in Andocara doesn't mean it's acceptable somewhere else."

An elderly person being unable to afford medication: The pharmacist would dispense it free of charge and claim it back from the Lord High Almoner, if the patient is on Poor Alms.
A young teenager being unable to afford medication: The pharmacist would dispense it free of charge and claim it back from the Lord High Almoner, if the patient is on Poor Alms.
A homeless (or poor) person abused by a rich person or several rich people: Someone would call the police or try and break it up.
A rich person abused by a homeless person or several homeless people:Someone would call the police or try and break it up.
A homosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Someone would call the police or try and break it up. Homosexual acts are illegal for men. However, abuse is not tolerated.
A heterosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Someone would call the police or try and break it up.
A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink): Most would probably laugh. Some may try to instruct the bully.
A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child: Most would probably laugh. Some may try to instruct the bully.
An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Chase after the thief; call a policeman or others for assistance.
An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Chase after the thief; call a policeman or others for assistance.
A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Chase after the thief; call a policeman or others for assistance.
A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester: Nothing. Abortions are mostly illegal.
A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth: Nothing. Abortions are mostly illegal.
A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s): People would probably glare at him.
A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s): People mind their own business in that case.

This nation is an exaggerated representation of my personal views in most areas.

An elderly person being unable to afford medication: N/A (universal healthcare)
A young teenager being unable to afford medication: N/A (universal healthcare)
A homeless (or poor) person abused by a rich person or several rich people: Some might step in, but most would call the police.
A rich person abused by a homeless person or several homeless people: Same as above, some step in, most call police.
A homosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: See above.
A heterosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: See above.
A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink): Adults would probably tell off the child who's bullying the child, and say something like "I really like the pink shirt."
A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child: Similar to above.
An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: They would try to resolve it discreetly-- "Hey sir, I think you accidentally grabbed her phone." If this doesn't work, the police would be called. Violence over property isn't worth it.
An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Same as above, but with an even more gentle approach.
A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: As it's a child, the police wouldn't be called. The person would be more clear in telling the child off, and probably look for a parent or guardian to speak with.
A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester: Citizens protest and raise hell until the abortion can occur.
A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth: Same as above. If time sensitive, the government may dispatch a team to help the woman locate a safe facility to terminate the pregnancy.
A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s): Depends on the degree of rudeness, most offenses would probably just be tolerated. Major offenses would be kindly reminded of etiquette.
A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s): Members of our nation would probably call them out (discreetly) if minor, or apologize on their behalf if major. Citizens are concerned with maintaining our good image around the world.

An elderly person being unable to afford medication: Selling either their children or grandchildren into slavery to afford their heart medication
A young teenager being unable to afford medication: Selling their younger sibling's kidney to their local pharmacy so they can afford oxycontin
A homeless (or poor) person abused by a rich person or several rich people: Depends on the area, if it was N. Old Yahaba, then the surrounding robot crowd would gang up on the rich person and his security detail, always resulting in a police response, meanwhile if it was in Mori, the rich civilians would gang up on the homeless man for making their neighborhood dirty
A rich person abused by a homeless person or several homeless people: The rich person would come back to the area of the attack and use "reasonable" force (usually an AK-47) to gun down the said homeless man
A homosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Slavery
A heterosexual person abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Also slavery
A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink): Depending on if the child was a rich kid, then the bullies would end up either dead in a ditch or continue their harassment of the lad
A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child: Look above
An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Since the Non-Aggression Principle was violated, the thief in question has no legal right to live if the victim deems it so with their AA-12
An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: Look above
A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another person: They'd be sold into slavery to teach them a lesson
A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester: N/A
A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth: N/A
A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s): We don't do anything besides tolerate them... Nah just kidding, we kidnap them in their sleep and sell them to jihadists
A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s): Depending on the country, we try to get them out as quickly as possible since other countries are obviously better than others.

[Questions have been modified slightly to avoid cross-species confusion]

An elderly dog being unable to afford medication: N/A (Socialized Healthcare)

A young teenager being unable to afford medication: N/A (Same as Above)

A homeless (or poor) dog abused by a rich dog or several rich dogs: Most dogs would probably call them out on it, and some probably would intervene to try and stop it. If they were particularly famous, they would probably be filmed doing it and then end up posted around on numerous social media sites and, perhaps, even end up on the news.

A rich dog abused by a homeless person or several homeless dogs: Dogs would still probably intervene, though, if the rich dog was not the most well liked, many would probably just let the the abuse happen, of even encourage it. Though if it did start to get too violent, dogs would still intervene.

A homosexual dog abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Not usually a problem though in the rare instances it has happened, many did quickly intervene

A heterosexual dog abused by others because of their sexual preferences: Even less likely to be a problem, so its hard to say what would happen.

A child bullied by other children in school grounds for a particular reason (e.g. wearing pink): In most schoolyards, bullying is a problem, and many kids would just let the bullying happen.

A child bullied by others for no particular reason, or because it seemed fun to pick on the child: Same as above, as far as kids are considered, the reason is irrelevant.

An adult steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another dog: If any dog saw that, they would probably report it to the police. The more heroic ones would probably even intervene to stop the thief

An elderly steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another dog: They would probably still report it, and some would still intervene, though they would be less physical in there intervention then if they were a regular adult.

A child steals the wallet, smartphone, or any property of value (or contains something value) of another dog: They would probably try and tell the Parents, rather then the police, though if they couldn't find the parents (or the child didn't have any) they would probably report it to the police. I don't think many would try and intervene.

A pregnant woman denied abortion before the second trimester: Illegal. Any dog can seek an Abortion at any point in there pregnancy if they so choose.

A pregnant woman denied abortion during or after the second trimester, or when the woman is very close to giving birth: Same as above.

A foreign tourist/couple visits your country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in your country's culture(s): Most would probably ignore them. Tourists will be Tourists

A tourist/couple from your country visits another country and acts rudely or does something that is considered rude in that country's culture(s): Most would still probably ignore them, and perhaps even try to avoid being seen with them, to avoid the humiliation by association.
