Allow us to set national personal and surnames

To help with roleplay, it would be good if there was a feature which allowed us to enter a list of personal and surnames which are appropriate for our nation. So, if you wanted to roleplay a new Roman republic, you could have first names like Gaius, Lucius, Publius etc and surnames like Julius or Octavius and the game could randomly select a combination of these when presenting you with events.

A good point was raised by an issue editor in that thread that adding new macros and custom fields requires them to go through 1200+ issues and add the new macro. That’s a big task!

This proposal would modify the behavior of the existing @@RANDOMNAME@@ macro rather than adding a new macro, so that's not the issue.

The issue is that nobody except you would ever see the names you enter. The main purpose of customizable fields is to personalize how your nation looks to other players.

Not the point. The names produced by @@RANDOMNAME@@ are only seen by you, the player behind your nation. Trott's saying that the customizable fields are mainly meant to personalize how your nation appears to other players.
