No offense to Zelphos, but the same happened during the last RP in 2017. The OP just disappeared after a short period of time.

It's the curse of this RP!

The original one as well. It's unfortunate. If we don't hear from Zelphos soon we might have to consider if we want to move ahead with the RP or abandon it.

Interesting, very interesting. Possibly quite a bit of overlap in Sylas and Talia's thinking and somewhat less so in Sylas's and Corineus's.

Too much loyalty at the Imperial Court.

If Brandon doesn't show soon, maybe he's had an 'accident'? Some unknown assassin?

If something should happen that Dayfith felt he should upset the succession, I don't believe that a marriage would dilute his position.

It might. Obviously a person's position can be improved or diminished by the marriage they enter into. If Dayfith where to marry Lady Siwan that would signal a commitment to Ye-Ayn and a move away from the imperial crown. A marriage with Cordelia Corino, one of Sylas's daughters, or another Vixis dynasty princess on the other hand might signal the opposite and strengthen Dayfith's position in Windstard.

That doesn't solve the absence of our OP though.

We could democratically elect a seasoned RPer to be the new OP in Zelphos' absence.

Let's suppose that Dayfith gets married. It doesn't change his position in the succession, only in perception.

What Quendi said is true, though Sylas was also thinking long-term. He'd prefer that Dayfith's children only have a claim via himself, which would 'dilute' any chance of a dangerous cadet dynasty emerging in the 'short-term' in his mind.

Basically, Brandon does not have a DIRECT heir. IF succession were to happen, it would depend on the law. WITHOUT succession through a female line, Sylas is 1st and then his children (which are not part of the character application). With succession through the female line, it's Talia's boys and then Dayfith, to my understanding.

If people are up for continuing the RP that's probably the best course of action.

Perception is reality. Especially if there isn't a formal law of succession.

No Dayfith would still be behind Sylas and his offspring at least if we ignore the illegitimacy. Even if female line inheritance is permitted it would presumably only be in the absence of a more senior male heir. Sylas then would come before his sister and her sons.

But again most pre-modern monarchies did not have written constitutions and so they didn't have a clear succession law they could just consult to figure out who should be emperor, Vexia presumably wouldn't either.

Okay.
I think this is done.
Maybe if someone wants to start from the beginning
I'll be back.
So long, Zelphos!
