What have you got so far?
It starts with a quarantine.
Several whole star systems numbering in the hundreds are immediately quarantined on the edge of the Milky Way due to the presence of strange, omnivoracious organisms, that resemble of grey goo. Attempts to contain them using pico-level and femto-level bots have ended in vain, with more of the microscopic bots eaten up by the organisms than the bots could contain. These star-systems have been quarantined by combat vessels forming a massive Dyson sphere encompassing these star systems, shielded with spatio-temporal systems to contain the spread of the mysterious organisms. Research has been started by Logic Engines, Biases as well as neohumans and other constituent races within and outside the quarantined star systems. As seconds pass in realspace, something sinister lurks within these "liquid" organisms....

Interesting concept. How do you think your grey goo problem would tie into this? Are you going with "these grey goo things are related to the invading gribblies in the thread" or are they going to be completely unrelated and your people facing two threats at once?

I'm thinking that the "grey goo" will be related to the invading forces in the thread. I actually assumed that the omnivoracious races in "The Liquid Power" were a form of all consuming nanotech swarm, but from reading the IC thread they seem otherwise. But of course we can assume that the "grey goo" comes from that race as a sort of an extremely powerful weapon, while not an out of context problem, is still threatening enough. The initial focus of my nation would be the study of the weapon, and determine whether it came from a foreign source and finding that source.

Alright, I guess I owe you an explanation..
The red liquid, which the title "Liquid Power" refers to is an energy source that sustains all life over there, as the planet is a rogue planet and couldn't have supported life anyways. Over time, that source gets depleted and the inhabitants need to find another planet to "plant" that red liquid so they could survive. All other life there is either killed eventually from the changes to their planet, adjusts and eventually joins the hivemind of the invaders
Now, as for the invaders, they're biomechanical versions of their older selves. For sentient ones, they have a bit of their former personalities intact, but their primary objective is still serving the hivemind.

I see, in that case, the grey goo, could be instead the red liquid planted covertly on star systems that host pre-level and trans-baseline beings and lifeforms, which are those that haven't effectively ascended to neohuman levels. It becomes more interesting as Novus Humanitae (my IC polity name) will have to investigate rogue entities responsible (since it's a decentralized, pluralistic anarchistic polity in essence) for bringing in a potentially malevolent element.
That's my idea to say the least, there'll be a lot of intrigue and the invaders can come late in the story if Novus Humanitae can identify them or of they decide to invade themselves first. I'm open for suggestions and modifications in regards to my role in the RP.

As far as storyline goes, the invaders' hivemind has its sights on Nod atm, and I'm planning on another faction to help the Nodic in fighting the invaders, but only to harvest the red liquid for a Dark Messiah. Whether that faction would be yours is up to you. If so, then I'd gladly discuss it further here or on Discord, whichever seems more convenient to you.

Most interesting, as of now I don't have any plans to be on the side of a Dark Messiah, though that offer is tantalizingly good if I plan on bringing a "corrupted" Bias. I'll have to think about it. But my plans for now in the RP IC-wise is containment of the red liquid and observation of the events in the multiverses, in time Novus Humanitae will set their sights on the Nodic faction, at least for now.
And while I have a Discord, I'm more interested discussing things in NS. Perhaps we could attract more RP'ers this way than discussing them off-site. But I'll defer to what ultimately you think is the best course of action.
