Race refers to the color of someone's skin or other physical characteristics. Being Muslim does not affect that. This is religious discrimination.
People should have the right to display their opinions about whatever they want - even if it is a 'Hatred' against a religion. Violence, however, should not be tolerated. Speak as much as you want. Hold rallies. Sign petitions. Start a book club. However, the act of acting violently to an individual who was posing no obvious threat, should be- and IS - ILLEGAL.

Of course there's that one guy who thinks mob violence over a damn choice of clothing is acceptable. We can't live and let live, can we? Everyone else deserves their freedom but god forbid the brown people get left alone and aren't victims of violence. No, they just had to give a big thumbs up to a teenage girl being viciously attacked by a gang of punks.

I guarantee you also that this would never happen in my area. We have guys with similar beliefs to the thugs responsible for this but they know if they were to do something like this, they wouldn't make it out of that street in one piece. People here would probably have a full blown riot if this happened, so I'm glad no one was dumb enough to try
