If you're like me, you probably have a fear of large bugs. I can tolerate small insects and even tiny spiders, but anything bigger than a dime is a damn monster in my eyes. So you can imagine what I'm thinking when I see a bug bigger than a bird.
Since the dawn of time, mankind has been plagued by a nightmare sent straight from the depths of hell. Throughout the centuries, people have lived in fear of this wretched abomination. This monster is known by many names, but one we all recognize is the word centipede. These creatures crawl around on hundreds of legs, prowling the environment for prey, mainly spiders and ants. When they aren't busy looking for food, their past time involves either hiding in the shadows or terrorizing humans. The very sight of one of eldritch abominations can induce insanity in an individual. Today for example, I was listening to Children of the Grave in my room when a centipede ran out from one of the corners of the room. I screamed in fright and the creature stopped right in the middle of the room before I hit it with a broom, smashing him across the floor. This is the second one I have seen in a week and I no longer feel safe in my house. So what are your thoughts on centipedes? Is there any way we can keep them away from us? What selective pressures do you think encouraged the evolution of such a creature?
