[SOCCER] Ounaian National League Looking for Investors

Postby Ouna » Tue Jul 16, 2019 1:20 pm

NOTICE -
Teams Owned:

Trawadea Knights
Karusha Dynamos
Freetown Lions
Bagatoro Warriors
Vadborg Wave
Muhanmaga Magic
VVV Newhaven
Sucheberg United
Newcastle Marprovi
Tuokologo Union
Peto Blues

Teams for Sale:

none - (If any owner's nations CTE or choose to sell their club, they will become listed here.)

The Ounaian National League this week has opened its doors to potential investors. The league are looking for backers to purchase six franchises which will compete in the league across 20 games.

The terms of purchasing the franchises are such:

The franchise will be valued at its opening capital.
The purchaser is unable to change the name of the franchise unless approved by the league (will likely be approved at time of purchase).
The franchise may be sold at any time but will be valued at the opening capital of the quarter in which it is sold (each season is divided into four quarters consisting of five match days each).

The franchises are expected to provide a genuine return on investment for responsible owners. Revenue streams for the club will include:

Matchday Revenue
Quarterly Bonus
Championship Bonus

Matchday Revnue will depend on attendance and this figure will be shown on the Matchday Results thread. The league bonuses are paid as such:

Quarterly Bonus (Paid based on position in the league after every five match days):

1st - $4,000
2nd - $3,000
3rd -$2,000
4th - $1,000
5th - $500
6th - $500

The reason for the quarterly bonus is to aid with the cash flow of the respective franchises instead of an annual bonus.

A Championship Bonus of $4,000 is paid to the League leaders at the end of 20 games.

The costs which the franchises incur above their regular operational costs is in the form of a league fee of $125 per game which will be taken from the matchday revenue.

League Rules

The six teams will play each other twice at home, and twice away from home. A total of 20 matches will be played by each team.

Franchises may only use funds generated from the playing of matches, or the transfer of players, to make player transfers. This guarantees that the club does not eat into its Capital and ensures its long-term survival. The transfer budget will be conveyed to the buyer after every quarter.

All clubs must maintain a roster of minimum 15 players.

Transfer requests must be made to the league, and then the league will forward the request to the players club.

The cost to the franchise on player transfers will be the initial transfer fee which will go to the other franchise, and then the value of the player's wages over the length of his/her contract. The wages will not be accrued and will be recorded at full cost at time of purchase. All of these costs must be taken from the transfer budget.

Maximum of two transfers per quarter (no transfer windows).

The league will charge each club $125 per game to participate in the league, this will be taken from the match-day revenue.

Ticket sales are capped at $2.50 per ticket for every league member.

The league positions will be ordered by number of points, followed by goal difference, followed by away goals and if the clubs are still tied a play-off match will be played at the end of the season to determine position.

Buyers may invest a maximum of $5,000 p/a into the club, unless the league objects, this capital may be injected at any time throughout the year.

Investments will not be fed through to the transfer budget.

Investments may be used to invest in additional seating increasing match-day revenue, the buyer may want to use his/her company as a sponsor to make back this investment.

Investors may change the franchise's name, manager, logo, stadia, kit, sponsors, formation and lineup by submitting a request to the league. These changes must be made before the beginning of the season or at time of purchase.

Profit at the end of the quarter will be added to the Capital and brought forward into the following quarter. An owner may take drawings out of the franchise up until the capital reaches the amount at the time of purchase by the owner. This is to protect the sustainability of the franchise, and the league may ask the owner to relinquish ownership and be paid back their original investment.

Matches will be scorinated by the League on a bi-weekly basis (every Wednesday & Saturday) and the results will be posted in the '[SOCCER] Ounaian National League Results' thread. The scorination is based on differing factors including; player ratings, home advantage, form, role-play bonus. An owner can increase their franchise's performance by role-playing, effective player transfers and lineup choice.

The season will begin on 20th July 2019, Investors may purchase a franchise at any time in the season as long as it is for sale.

I will post below the Clubs open to investment.

Espor Sport Group offer the an annual investment of $5,000 into Karishma Diamonds as well as marketing the club over in Seraxinbourgh, providing more revenue for the club in exchange for Karishma Dynamos acting as a feeder club to Espor FC.

Karusha Dynamos would receive young talent from Espor FC on loan as a place to develop and, if they developed any high quality players, would sell them to Espor FC to use in an agreement that the Espor Sport Group would be very beneficial to Karishma Dynamos whilst also being beneficial to Espor FC.

The eccentric owner behind our very own Maynard AFC, Magdalene Buchanan, would like to invest in the Trawadea Knights. She is looking to invest the full 5,000 per year, as long as she may transfer players between Trawadea and Maynard. She intends both clubs to benefit, and is looking to increase the maximum stadium capacity depending on the season's attendance and results.

Trawadea looks to an extremely talented and well-visited club, and definitely one of the more skilled defensive teams.

Ounaian National League

Dear Magdalene Buchanan,

Thank you for your interest in acquiring the Trawadea Knights, the nation's capital city club. There are whispers the Knights are favourites to move into the 25,000 capacity Sucheberg International Statium should they be able to build a big enough fan base.

The team has recently participated in it's pre-season and the club is currently valued at $23,424

To complete the purchase of this franchise we first ask that you make the following payments:

$23,424 to the Ounaian National League bank a/c
$5,000 to the Trawadea Knights club bank a/c

The opening capital for the club at the beginning of the season will be $23,424. The transfer budget available will be $3,024.

You may use your $5,000 capital investment to purchase additional seating in Dutch Park, the club's home ground, at a cost of $2,500 per 1000 additional seats. This will increase the match day revenue of the club.

The league will telegram you directly at the end of every quarter with an update to the club's finances. Should you have any questions or requests please either telegram or reply in this thread.

Dear Vito Okambe,

The transaction will be completed immediately. No seating improvements will be made just yet, awaiting the attendance of the first few match rounds, and awaiting the opportunity to move into Sucheberg International Stadium. That would be an immense boost to this club, and I want to go far in order to secure the Sucheberg International Stadium for Trawadea. There will also be no transfers yet, but the club's board may expect some additions at the first next opportunity.

Regards,

Magdalene Buchanan

The Match Day 1 results are up now on the results thread. Remember you can help your team's performance by roleplaying Match Reports, Behind the scenes etc.

New Opportunity

The Ounaian National League itself is open to the prospect of Corporate sponsorship deals.

Obviously, the league cannot accept sponsorship from a company/person who already owns a franchise, as this would be a conflict of interest.

The deal the league would be willing to offer is as follows:

$30,000 p/a for:

Rename the league '<company name> National League.'
The company logo to be included on every match-day results post.
Exclusive TV rights throughout contract period.

This money will be used to pay the running costs of the Ounaian National League Head Office.

Ounaian National League

Dear Andrew Mavuto,

Thank you for your interest in acquiring the Bagotoro Warriors, close rivals of the Trawadea Knights. Bagatoro is a work class port town located near the capital of Ouna with fiercely passionate fans.

The team has recently won their opening game, however took a heavy defeat against the league favourites the Karusha Dynamos. The club is currently valued at $23,234

To complete the purchase of this franchise we first ask that you make the following payments:

$23,234 to the Ounaian National League bank a/c
$5,000 to the Bagotoro club bank a/c

The opening capital for the club at the beginning of the season will be $28,234. The transfer budget available will be $4,568.

You may use your $5,000 capital investment to purchase additional seating in Havenside, the club's home ground, at a cost of $2,500 per 1000 additional seats. This will increase the match day revenue of the club.

The league will telegram you directly at the end of every quarter with an update to the club's finances. Should you have any questions or requests please either telegram or reply in this thread.

If you wish to build a RP bonus for your club, please RP in the Ounaian National League results thread.

Many Thanks,

Vito Okambe

Ounaian National League Head Office,

Allow me to introduce both myself & the company I represent. My name is Horon-Konda Kal, & I represent Qusmair, the state-owned enterprise that is the national airline of the State of Qusmo, in new potential markets. Qusmair currently primarily operates in Qusmo & in its own region, Rushmore, but it is looking for opportunities for expansion, & acquiring the rights for title sponsorship of the Ounaian National League seems like a perfect opportunity. It is in this spirit that we approach the Ounaian National League Head Office: a spirit of hope for growth & a productive, symbiotic relationship between our two entities.

We are prepared to offer $30 000 to sponsor the first season of the Ounaian National League, officially rebranding it in all telecasts & communications as the Qusmair Ounaian National League. We also expect our logo to appear prominently in communications from the Ounaian National League Head Office, to advertise our company to all fans of the Ounaian National League. We also expect to be permitted to broadcast Ounaian National League matches as a part of Qusmair's in-flight entertainment for our passengers & to sell additional television rights for these matches to distributors & subsidiaries, both in Qusmo & elsewhere.

Additionally, Qusmair would like our sponsorship to garner maximum exposure, not only in Ouna but also abroad. We would be prepared to pay up to an additional $30 000 if the Ounaian National League begins to expose itself to the world stage through various international tournaments. Principally, we would offer an additional $20 000 if the Ounaian National League submits its champion to compete in the Seventy-Fourth TakilQuip UICA Champions' Cup & if the teams placing second, third, & fourth compete in the Seventy-First Triangle Électronique UICA Globe Cup. Additionally, we would also offer $10 000 in funding to the Ounaian national team if Ouna submits a team to represent itself in the Qualifying Tournament for World Cup 83. We hope that these incentives will grant greater exposure to the league, its clubs, its players, &, ultimately, its title sponsor, helping maximize our return on investment from sales not just in Ouna but across the Multiverse, everywhere Ounaian teams compete internationally.

This is a mere summary of our proposal, of course, & the document I have attached goes into much further detail, addressing many of the legal matters that must be settled before a final agreement can be reached on our entities' formal partnership. With this said, however, I hope the terms detailed in this proposed contract are amenable to those in the Ounaian National League Head Office & that we can reach an agreement on title sponsorship shortly. Please feel welcome to contact me directly regarding any further comments, negotiation, or acceptance of our contract.

With warm regards,

Horon-Konda Kal
Director for International Portfolios
Qusmair

OOC: Hi, there! This looks like a cool idea. I decided to offer a one-year deal because I'll be retiring from RPing soon. I saw this & it looked cool, so I wanted to get involved somehow, but owning a team probably isn't the best idea because of that; so, this could be a nice alternative. OOCly, this is a weak bid because I'll be leaving soon; ICly, this is a weak bid because Qusmair doesn't really have an international presence outside its home region, Rushmore. If you'd like to extend the contract by any number of seasons, you certainly can do that if you'd wish; you can just assume Qusmair would agree to the contract details, &c. On the other hand, if you'd like to go with a sponsor who isn't retired from RPing in any future seasons you might have, I think the one-year deal provides a good IC justification for you to back out if you'd like to.

On to the additional bonuses & incentives: You certainly don't have to take it on if you don't want to; I'm not entirely sure the timeframe you're working with would mesh with the competitions, for example, & I'm not even sure you'd be interested in that to begin with. However, as interesting as I think this experiment is now, I think it would be even more interesting if it were integrated with the wider NS Sportiverse & its applicable international competitions. I think it'd be interesting to see more & different types of RPs from you, as well, which I'm also incentivizing a bit. Of course, if you don't want to enter either or both of the tournaments I suggested, I certainly don't want to pressure you; I think it might be fun, though.

Cheers, & let me know what you think!

Ounaian National League

Dear Horon-Konda Kal,

Thank you for the very generous offer to sponsor our league. We would like to graciously accept subject to a few amendments:

Length of contract - We would like to have you on-board for 1 season as sponsors, with an add-on option for 1 further season should we wish to take it. If we do choose to take the add-on option, we will be entitled to a further $30,000 for the second season.

Name of league - For existing threads, the titles of the threads will remain 'Ounaian National League', however on all posts/communications/telecasts etc will be called 'Qusmair National League' for the length of the contract.

TakilQuip UICA Champions' Cup and Seventy-First Triangle Électronique UICA Globe Cup -
We are happy to complete this offer, but feel it would be necessary to consult the team owners and get majority approval before going ahead. The reason for this as the additional costs involved with going abroad to compete will ultimately be going to the clubs rather than the league. What we would do in this instance is rightfully feed the $30,000 out to the teams evenly to cover their additional costs.

What would happen is the league would sign the teams up for these competitions, however not take part in role-playing as we feel the clubs belong to their respective owners and not the league itself (OOC: possible godmodding)

While I make the proposal to the team owners please could you provide links to these tournaments as I do not know where to find them?

Ouna National Team - Ouna have now submitted a team to participate in the WC83 so we feel like we have met this criteria.

If you feel like my comments are acceptable please send over a revised contract for us to sign.

Along with this we ask if you could pay $40,000 to the Ounaian National League Bank a/c.

We will invoice for the further $20,000 should we meet the criteria of participating in the International Club Tournaments.

Kind Regards,

Vito Okambe

Dear Vito Okambe,

I will be transferring the $24,086 to the Ounaian National League Bank and the $5000 to the Freetown Lions Bank.

Postby Ile Saint-Joseph » Fri Jul 26, 2019 11:12 pm

Madame, Monsieur,

I was very content when I was recommended the investment opportunity which is the Ounaian National League. I am the proud owner of the Casino du Prince at Ile Saint-Joseph, a miniscule, but rich principality. My operations there have won me a couple of million francs, but now I am searching to expand. Ile Saint-Joseph is magnificent, but as I said, very small. To expand to a larger base, I have decided I would like to invest in your organization through purchasing one of your franchises.

Therefore, I have recently created an ownership group for this purpose: Groupe Garibouds. This group will allow me more security in the investment and will aid me in securing funds. The group consists actually of only other Saint-Josephiens, and I, of course, maintain majority ownership.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure, Madame, Monsieur, that I respectfully inform you, on behalf of Groupe Garibouds, of our offer to purchase Vadborg Wave.

We have made this decision after analysis of the rosters of the available franchises in the league. Although we are aware that in their first couple matches, they have not performed as well as some of the other teams, we see a lot of potential in the team and are excited to invest in it and help it to become the best.

Groupe Garibouds' funds originate partially from private investment, but we have also taken out a loan in order to cover some of the up front costs. For this reason, it is essential that our franchise is able to be able to cover the interest from the loan from its revenue, by the beginning of the next season, at the maximum.

We understand that Vadborg Wave is currently valued at $20,000. We would like to confirm a payment of $22,000 up front. We additionally plan on investing a further $1000 at the beginning of each quarter, as funds become available, thus bringing us to the maximum investment at the beginning of the final quarter.

We would like to insert one clause with our offer. We are are aware that the terms of the franchise are that the name, along with some other items, may be changed on purchase, bute are still conducting market research and in discussion with our design contractors. Therefore we would like to request an extension of the deadline for the unveiling of the new team name. We propose to present new team and stadium names, in conjunction with a new kit, logo, and potential sponsors, no later than the beginning of the next quarter. We will commit to keeping 'Vadborg' in the club name, as well as maintaining the current manager and stadium, although we may plan to expand.

In the hope of your favorable response, I pray you accept, Madame, Monsieur, my most distinguished salutations.

OOC: Hey, this seems like a really fun take on how to run a soccer league! I'm really excited to be a part, I've just got a couple questions.
I chose Vadborg because it had really high numbers listed for its 'potential.' What do I do to make that potential a reality?
Second, I'm excited to buy and sell some players, make some transfers, and try to get Vadborg to the top of the league. But what I'm not clear on is exactly how the skill level of the players factors into the scorination. How do you scorinate the games and what factors go into that calculation?
