If you have an idea though I wouldn't submit it now instead I'd post it on this forum as a draft and let other issue writers evaluate it. That way when you do submit you have the best chance possible.

Please post your drafts to the forums. 99.9% of drafts that get submitted without forum drafting get rejected. Nobody will steal your idea, and if they did the IEs will notice and make sure the situation is handled. Plagiarism is also against site rules.

In summary, if you don’t draft on the forums your issue will almost always be rejected. If you do draft it’s by no means a sure thing, but you’ll have a much better chance, and folks can let you know if there’s overlap or other obvious problems. I’ve had 20 or so issues published and I’ve drafted every single one on the forums. Nobody has every stolen my idea.

I've stolen someone's idea once in my early days of drafting, it landed me a forum ban. I don't see why forum bans for stolen issues won't happen again in the future

Not my proudest Issue moment, I must admit. But this was a very long time ago. It might even predate the Issue Editor program. I've since learnt my lesson
