[DRAFT] Commend Latinoamerica Libre

Postby Calibert » Mon Jul 01, 2019 2:52 pm

Hi!, I’m making my first WA proposal, but I fear I’m breaking the rules, if someone could revise it I would be very grateful.

The proposal in question:

The World Assembly Security Council,

RECOGNIZING that Latinoamerica Libre is one of the biggest Latin American regions.

FURTHER RECOGNIZING the great development and dedication of Latinoamerica Libre to roleplaying and regional integration.

ACKNOWLEDGING the fact that Latinoamerica Libre is a common place for nations that are Spanish-speakers and may not feel like home other regions.

ADMIRING the neutrality of Latinoamerica Libre in international conflicts and his open diplomacy to all regions.

NOTING that the region of Latinoamerica Libre is based on the principles of friendship and respect between nations.

BELIEVING that a World Assembly Commendation is a recognition for all the previously mentioned achievements.

HEREBY commends Latinoamerica Libre.

Welcome to the Security Council.

I'll let someone more experienced with the rules speak on the legality. I do spot some R4s. You can't use "his" in a SC proposal.

On the substance of the proposal, you are lacking content. Some of the content is fluff and common among regions such as the neutrality, this does not make a region commendable. Other clauses you should bring more support to it, most notably, I would elaborate on the roleplay that happens in the region and make a good case for the region to be commended for the roleplaying.

That being said, I have never heard of this region before and doubt it is commendable—I do remain open to be persuaded though.
Apparently simultaneously a Ravenclaw puppet, a NPO plant, and a Warden spy. I had no idea I was that good. Depending on who you ask, my aliases include Krulltopia.

Rule 4a violation in red.
FURTHER RECOGNIZING the great development and dedication of Latinoamerica Libre to roleplaying and regional integration.

I know that mentioning roleplay is against the rules, but I can't remember which rule it violates. I think it's Rule 4c.
ACKNOWLEDGING the fact that Latinoamerica Libre is a common place for nations that are Spanish-speakers and may not feel like home other regions.

ADMIRING the neutrality of Latinoamerica Libre in international conflicts and his open diplomacy to all regions.

Rule 4b violation in red, although I think you meant to say "its".
NOTING that the region of Latinoamerica Libre is based on the principles of friendship and respect between nations.

BELIEVING that a World Assembly Commendation is a recognition for all the previously mentioned achievements.

Overall I think this is well-written, but lacking in substantive arguments, plus some of the main arguments are inherently Rule 4 violations. As far as I can tell, LL is a region that is less than a year old and only has a little over 50 nations, with no major interregional involvement that I am aware of (and if there is any I am not aware of, my retort is "why isn't it in the proposal then?"). I do understand the importance of having non-English communities, and LL seems to be the largest Spanish only region (based off of the Non-English region tag), but I don't know that this by itself warrants a WA Commendation. To be honest, I can't remember how language names fare against Rule 4a, so that could negate that argument completely.

I think mentioning a RL language is fine. Other rules violations mentioned are accurate.
