Operation First Punch

Under the guise of the AFRE 2023 military maneuvers, Portuguese and allied forces have been preparing to launch a massive air campaign, beginning with the general offensive codenamed Operation First Punch with more than 350 sorties planned to launch per day. Four air divisions have been organized for the operation: tanker and bomber aircraft, fighters and attack aircraft, electronic warfare aircraft and airlift operation aircraft, defining each air division by function to provide robust command and control.

The fundamental of Operation First Punch is to seize air control, targeting any field army deployed with the mission to expel presence. The concept of the air campaign is to prevent disruption of air operations, destroy offensive air threat, isolate enemy ground forces and support allied ground force operations.

Beginning at 2:38 am, as President Palveiro announced military action, Task Force Gama (eight PoAF AH-64 Apache helicopters led by two PoAF MH-53 Pave Low helicopters) targeted Galician radar sites near the Portuguese-Galician border in an attempt to destroy the possibility of Galicia being warned of an upcoming attack.

At 2:43 A.M. two PoAF EF-111 Ravens with terrain following radar led 22 USAF F-15E Strike Eagles against assaults on airfields in Southern Galicia.

At 3:00 AM, ten PoAF F-117 Nighthawk stealth bombers, under the protection of a three-ship formation of EF-111s, dropped bombs on the capital.

Concurrently, Portuguese Navy BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles targeted Galicia's capital, along with other coalition aircraft throughout Galicia, with the same objective of degrading government buildings, TV stations, airfields, leadership locations, military installations, communication lines, supply bases, oil refineries, the capital airport, electric powerplants and factories making Galician military equipment from the massive aerial and missile attacks from coalition forces.

The first priority for Coalition forces is the destruction of any command and control bunkers, missile launch pads and storage areas, telecommunications and radio facilities, and airfields.

The attack begins with a wave of deep-penetrating aircraft – F-111s, F-15Es, Tornado GR1s, F-16s, A-6s, A-7Es, and F-117s, complemented by F-15C, F-14s and Air Defense Tornados. EA-6Bs, EF-111 radar jammers, and F-117A stealth planes are being heavily used in this phase to elude any extensive SAM systems and anti-aircraft weapons.

The sorties being launched are mostly from Portugal and the Azores and Coalition aircraft carrier battle groups in the North Atlantic.

300 tanker sorties are estimated to be launched for the first 24-30 hours to support the strike package going on.

This first phase of the operation is dedicated to gaining air superiority, destroying Galician strategic capabilities and disrupting command and control.

On Germany's behalf, he's claimed a right of response to this.

Operation First Punch

*coencides with Lusophones attacks*

Along with the Lusophone attacks came the German Attacks.

In the early morning on 3 separate German Airstrips a total of 3 CMCAs, 60 Eurofighters, 30 5th gen UI-51sv2, 30 Panavia Tornado ECRs, 30 5th gen Valykries and 45 5th gen Vulture Bombers took off to aid in the Lusophone mission.

While half of the Eurofighters would stay back to protect the 3 CMCAs, all the other aircraft would aid Lusophone in attacking enemy targets with Cruise and Air-To-Surface Missiles. While the ECRs jammed enemy RADARs.

The CMCAs would also use long range cruise missiles to help combat and potentially destroy enemy air defenses engaging the jamming aircraft.

Meanwhile German MEADs on the ground as well as Wespe sites further away will help target and attack missiles aimed at ECR aircraft and keep them from being shot down
Naval Battle

(OOC: Will delete this later if need be)

To go with the Air Attacks the Royal German Navy and Marine Corps would engage the Galician Fleet with the North Atlantic Marine Fleet from the North, Medditeranian Fleet from the Northeast and South Atlantic Marine Fleet from the South, surrounding the Galician Fleet, just outside of range they would offer the fleet a chance to surrender and would have until sunrise to make a decision.

(The following only happens if Puerto is within the Euro Sea)

Meanwhile the Navy would send a message to the Puerto Fleet within the Euro Sea "NAF ships under German Command will prevent you from reaching Galicia, continue towards Galicia at your own risk."

Galicia

The invasion was not a surprise to the Galician or Bolivarian government. All the saber rattling in the leadup to the invasion meant that the Galician Armed Forces had already been put on high alert, and thus were ready for a Portuguese attack. The Portuguese attack on border radar sites would have far less of an effect than they anticipated, and SAMS would begin firing at the German and Portuguese aircraft almost as soon as the war started. These were all part of an intricate air defense system which had been built over the past years. This included the usage of passive radar systems, and with it being quite hard to jam would compliment the Galician's signal intelligence. Radar systems throughout Galicia would also switch between frequencies and take other countermeasures as well, and would also use multiple radars in conjunction to try to pinpoint the location of jamming aircraft so it could be engaged.

Some of the SAM batteries would soon turn off their radar after the start of the war, which would make it much harder for the German and Portuguese aircraft from being able to discover their position. However, they would not be blind, as data would be constantly shared between the Galician 'Home Sovereignty' air defense system, which was initially designed during Puertollanoan-era Galicia and further upgraded after independence. This would allow the SAMS to prevent from turning on their own radars until the last possible second - right before launching their missiles at the enemy, giving the enemy aircraft far less time to react. The SAMS would periodically switch between which units were in charge of monitoring the airspace with radar and would also frequently move to new locations to prevent the enemy of learning the pattern which the SAMS were arranged in. In particular, the newer Tenodera SAMS would be quite a hassle for the German-Portuguese aircraft. Additionally, the Galician and Bolivarian airforces were also scrambled, which typically used modern NAF or FSR designs.

The Portuguese attacks on the capital led to the evacuation of key officials to ensure that the country could continue to operate smoothly in the future. Other preparations were also undertaken to minimize the damage done by the bombings, and emergency repair teams would be mobilized as well. They would be accompanied by the Galician Civil Guard, a semi-militarized during force only used for emergencies. The Portuguese cruise missiles wouldn't reach the capital unopposed, however. They would be faced by SAMS as well as HELLADS, purchased from the NAF long along which would burn the missiles into nothingness. Given the Portuguese use of ballistic missiles in their war games, Galicia's ABM systems were also in high alert. Built with the experience of the Orostani-Zackaorthian War in mind Galicia's ABM system was amongst the most advanced in the world.

On the ground, the German and Portuguese forces hadn't conducted any offensives. The Galician and Bolivarian defenders took advantage of this to begin withdrawing from the salients that dotted the frontline. The troops freed up after withdrawing from the salients would be committed as reserves. Unlike the Germans, the Galician and Bolivarian forces opted to man the entire front, even the Minho River which would be used as a defensive barrier. The threat of a naval invasion had forced the Galician defenders to commit 50,000 troops to either guard the coast or act as a strategic reserve, leaving 240,000 troops to guard the frontline. But there were reasons to be optimistic. For one, reinforcement would arrive. For one reinforcement would arrive. But unbeknownst to them, another thing was happening at that very moment.

Eastern Atlantic

The Germans had given the Galician and Bolivarian vessels several hours to surrender. With ten destroyers, twelve frigates, and ten submarines the Galician Fleet was a sizable one yet ultimately still outnumbered. Yet despite this, the fleet commander decided that he would strike first. The Germans had made a serious mistake in leaving all their marine transports without any warships to escort them. Taking advantage of the large distance between the Galician Fleet and the German Fleets, and the similarly large distance that the German Fleets had with each other it was simply too much of an opportunity to pass.

All of the ten submarines would be sent to a mission to knock out the marine transports. The cluster of twenty-four thousand bodies was all too visible from Galicia and would likely be easy prey for the submarines, given that the transports would likely not have the most effective ASW capabilities. However, they were instructed to delay their attack if needed in order to sync their attacks with that in the Carribean, though were given authority to continue if they felt that the mission could be compromised by further waiting. Once they were close enough they would launch their anti-ship missiles and torpedoes towards the transports, and after they were done they would begin to withdraw from the area. With the nearest German warship being over a hundred miles away, the submarines would ideally have gotten to friendly waters by then. Elsewhere, the Galician Fleet would stay near the coast and assumed a defensive stance.

Further south, there was a Bolivarian Fleet sent to reinforce Galicia, comprised of 10 destroyers and 20 patrol boats. However, it found itself warned by the Germans to not continue north. The fleet opted to heed the warning, at least for a while. Rather, they would head south to link up with reinforcements. The reinforcements would be massive in scale. From the FSR came 3 aircraft carriers, 3 amphibious warfare ships, 30 destroyers, 30 submarines, 20 frigates, 10 cruisers, and 3 corvettes, who would be accompanied by 25,000 marines and a modernized Iowa class battleship. In addition, a further 10 destroyers, 5 frigates, and 7 corvettes had been rented to the FSR from China. These ships would create the Galicia Relief Fleet, which would be one of the largest naval deployments of the modern era. After they had grouped together, they would start heading northeast towards the direction of Galicia. The center of the fleet would stray approximately 800 miles away from the coast throughout the journey, which was expected to take a while.

The Caribbean

There was unfinished business throughout the Caribbean. The previous Caribbean War was a resounding victory for the Bolivarian Republic, but alas, the Germanic Union still held territorial possessions within the Carribean. The same opportunity as last time did not present itself again, as this time the Germanic Union had prepared for upcoming onslaught. But similar as in Galicia, they had once again left their marine transports unguarded, with the nearest warships a hundred miles away.

The Carribean was already a hotspot for Bolivarian and Federation submarines. While in more peaceful times they might have been playing tug of war with the Italians, nowadays their focus was on eliminating the sixteen thousand German marines in the Carribean. Five Bolivarian submarines and five Federation submarines were dispatched to deal with them. Similarly to what occurred in Galicia, once they were close enough they would fire their torpedoes and anti-ship missiles at the transports, and would promptly begin withdrawing after launching their attack.

The bulk of the Bolivarian Pacific Fleet would also be brought over to reinforce the Bolivarian Atlantic Fleet. They would travel around the cape of South America but keep far away from the coasts, until reaching the Orostani SFR whose ports they would use to resupply. After doing so, they would continue onwards. In the meanwhile, the Bolivarian and Federation Atlantic Fleets were told to keep in high alert over possible German retaliation.

Iberian Front

Following the German-Portuguese assault on Galicia, the Iberian Armed Forces had begun to undergo full-scale mobilization. The following days would be quite hectic, as the coalition sought to position itself in a favorable situation. One such action taken would including significantly scaling down air defense systems the FSR had positioned in the SRC outside the northern or southern front. These would be shipped off to the Morrocan SAR via Chinese transport vessels, where they would later be distributed throughout the Iberian Federation. In the FSR, an armored division was told to get ready for deployment.

In the air, the Iberian Airforce quickly defined its strategy. The key priority was now to allow for safe-passage from the FSR to the Morrocan SAR (in addition to protecting Iberian airspace). Thus the Norte and Centro regions would be avoided entirely, allowing for a southern focus. One of the most important goals would be delegated to coalition aircraft in the Morracan SAR. They would seek to maintain control of the skies above the sea would also attempt to nullify the enemy air defenses in the Canary Islands and Madeira. In the mainland, the main focus would be to achieve air supremacy in the Algarve and the body of water around it. Military installations and air defenses would also be targeted where Iberian aircraft operated. With most Portuguese aircraft deployed in Galicia and due to the relative (lack) of strength of the Portuguese SAM network the Iberians planned to gain control over the key areas rather quickly. Additionally, maritime patrol aircraft were sent to conduct recon over the Western Mediterranean and Eastern Atlantic (south of Portugal).

On the naval front, the Iberian Navy would be divided into two fleets. Fleet B would be assigned to protect the Gibraltar Strait, the Alboran Sea, and the Baerlic Sea. It would be comprised of four frigates, six corvettes, two submarines, and thirty patrol vessels. On the other hand, Fleet A would link up with the Galicia Relief Fleet. It would be comprised of an aircraft carrier, six frigates, fourteen destroyers, and eight submarines. They would be assisted by coalition aircraft if necessary.

Once it was deemed safe enough, the FSR would send an AEW&C squadron and 4 fighter squadrons to reinforce Iberia, one which would stay in the Morracan SAR and help with local operations. An infantry division would also be airlifted to Dakhla. After arriving, the division would be deployed to Imlili and await further instructions.

OOC: Irl Spain's navy is based in the South, barring bases in Galica

Galicia Relief Fleet

Due to the sheer size of the Galicia Relief Fleet, it would be subdivided into various smaller groups which would be able to carry out independent actions whenever needed but would also be able to quickly come to each other's aid if necessary. The FSR also sent also send further reinforcements to the fleet, in the form of 2 cruisers, 2 destroyers, and 2 corvettes. The FSR also withheld some of the marines that were originally planned to be sent alongside the Galicia Fleet.

The following represents the order of battle of the warships that make up the Galicia Fleet:

(4) Aircraft Carrier Strike Groups
• Carriers: 1
• Cruisers: 2
• Destroyers: 6
• Submarines: 2 (attached)

(3) Expeditionary Strike Groups

Operation First Punch on Pause

Operation First Punch, intended to be the first leg of Portugal's extended military operations to expel Galician hostility from the Iberian Peninsula has been ordered on pause by direct order of President Sara Palveiro, the Supreme Commander of the Portuguese Armed Forces. The operation was designated to seize air control, targeting any field army deployed with the mission to expel presence but bombing operations have been put on pause as a gesture of good-faith to Galicia and South American coalition forces, whom the Portuguese diplomatic corp have begun back-channel talks with.

Through back-channel talks, Portugal has invited the South American coalition to begin ceasefire-talks which could eventually lead to peace talks in Iceland.

The Portuguese Republic is now hopeful for a peaceful settlement in the Galicia conflict, going as far beyond just the back-channels but pausing bombing operations to show good-will. However, 297,000 service members of the Portuguese Armed Forces have been deployed to the Portuguese-Spanish border as a pre-cautionary peace-maintaining force. Portugal will not allow foreign troop build-up on it's borders. The 297,000 service members are deploying in defensive measures throughout Portugal's border with the Spanish Federation of Iberia. The service members are joined by 496 battle tanks, 938 AFVs, 128 MLRS, 776 artillery and self-propelled systems. Portugal is also deploying 87,750 service members to Portugal's border with Galicia as a pre-cautionary peace-maintaining force. Portugal hopes that Portuguese servicemen and women will not have to engage with any Galician or Spanish counterparts.

The pause of Portugal's bombing operations in Galicia mean that air units deployed in Galicia will be either coming home or will only patrol Portugal's airspace. Numerous F-16 flights will begin to take up patrol in Portugal's skies while F14s and F-15Cs are beginning to fly missions to protect and escort tankers and AWAC planes.

Operation Knockout

(OOC: Certain aircraft will refuel in Lusophone, Britain or German Mauritania (which i don't suggest attacking since it looks like you're navy is gonna take a beating, and a certain northern neighbor is probably itching for an actual fight since it's been a minute.) but regardless it all depends on how much range the aircraft has.Its been approved by Japan so somehow someway the F-16 makes it although I didn't think it could)

(I do believe various European Refueling Tankers are also involved, but i was not given there numbers so, just say a lot)

The Galicia Relief Fleet was a formidable formation, however it had erred in entering Europe’s domain. They were now within range of attack from land-based aircraft, and the air forces of Europe were ready to take this opportunity. First would come the Germans, from their bases in Lusophone. 196 Eurofighters, 99 Kaiserin Fighters (55 taking off from the Medium Carrier near Galicia), and 30 Valykrie 5th gen fighters support 60 Vulture 5th gen bombers accompanied by 37 Tornado ECR aircraft, (all additional aircraft made their way to Lusophone via Britain and around Galicia before refueling and arming immediately for the attack) approaching the enemy fleet ready to deliver the first blow of the day. It would not be the last.As they approach, German anti-ship ballistic missiles would also fire from The North Atlantic Positioned roughly 850 miles away (all 6 of my ballistic missile subs would be involved) from their targets, targeting the enemy fleet – they would face ballistic missiles as well as the incoming air raid. 2 missiles at each of the following targets (each aircraft carrier, each amphibious assault ship and the Battleship) timed to line up soon after the air fleet popped up on long range RADAR by AWACs or subs or otherwise, but to hit mere minutes before the aircraft came within range. The electronic warfare aircraft would create interference to disrupt the radar of both the enemy carrier forces and any early-warning systems (on the ships or separate from them). Their opponents would likely be launching fighter aircraft soon (if possible), if they were not already in the air, but the Germans would press their attack and open fire with anti-ship missiles from the limits of their range. The German raid force would also attempt to seek out any enemy AWACs aircraft and down them with anti-radiation missiles, but they would not try were more enemy fighters than half the size of the German number to attempt to interfere. Not wanting to engage in any dogfights beyond this objective of destroying any AWACS plans, the German Air Force would withdraw immediately after firing their anti-ship ordinance.
As the Germans turned for home, and even as the anti-ship missiles raced towards their targets, more European aircraft approached the Galicia Relief Fleet. Flying from the British Isles, 80 F-35s (who also acted like electronic warfare aircraft) and 95 Eurofighters and 40 Panavia Tornados of the British Imperial Federation fly alongside 14 Tu-160s and 17 Tu-22ms from the Soviet Union. They would time their attack perfectly; as the German attack ended, the Anglo-Russian raid force would almost be upon them – flying in from a different angle of attack vector to cause any defending aircraft to burn off more fuel to reach them and also strain the abilities of the naval vessels to defend against two sides. Should the German attack have trouble with enemy fighters, the arriving British fighters would join the fray in their defense they would also try to attack and destroy any AWACs the Germans missed before linking back up with the bombers before the bombers attack on the fleet. As the bombers and fighters open fire with their own anti-ship missiles. In these first waves, the Europeans would be happy to take down escort ships even if the enemy aircraft carriers survived, knowing that for every escort ship sunk the interception capabilities of the Galicia Relief Fleet would be reduced.
The first survivors of the German attack would be now be arriving back in Portugal, and begin refueling and rearming immediately as the Portuguese Air Force sought to suppress any incursions into their airspace. They would be lifting of again as soon as they were ready, to launch another raid on the fleet. But it was not yet their time, for even as the Anglo-Russian planes begin their own egress, more jets were on their way. 250 F/A-19s, 810 Eurofighters (100 of them Naval), 400 Adler B1s, 140 Rafales, 114 F-16s and 24 Mirage 2000s were refueling in Britain, having taken off from their homeland and flying over Germany in the preceding hours. They would now join the fight, again from a different attack vector, with their own anti-ship ordinance. As they approach, German anti-ship ballistic missiles would also fire from almost the same location, targeting the same ships of the enemy fleet and firing an additional 2 anti-carrier ballistic missiles.
The final blow would come as the first wave made their return, followed by the second wave, and then the third. Airbases, airports, and airstrips were being pushed to their limit coordinating the number of aircraft, but they would make at least one more raid each. The Galican Relief Fleet was large, but each ship could only carry so many interceptors, the enemy fighters could only stay in the air fighting for so long before needing to rearm on their carriers, and doing so (let alone landing/taking off) while missiles were in the air would be a hazardous risk. But even if they could survive these potentially devastating synchronized strikes, the danger was not yet passed – the British and Roman Atlantic Fleets were forming into one, and sailed from the Northern Euro Sea. They would not be within range yet, but it would only be a matter of time before they too could mop up the scraps left behind.
The URT, Britain, and Russia had joined the Second Fantastic War.

Waters around Galicia

When the early morning cracked and no message was received the GU fleets opened fire with all their combined long range cruise missiles. While not exactly expecting many hits the primary focus was for the Galicians to exhaust valuable interceptors. After the initial firing the attack subs would move in before realizing that under the waves they were alone they would radio command before launching their torpedo's. It was around this time when the surface fleets began to arrive, outnumbering and with superior firepower the Light Carriers launched their VTOL fighters carrying anti-ship missiles, however with a much larger battle going somewhere else only 3 EW Tornados could be spared for this attack. The aircraft would attack the enemy fleet with their own anti-ship missiles with the fleet and attack subs following suit shortly after. While the attack was ongoing, the GU command initially held hope of surrender when they got the news of the attack on the Marines 100s of miles away. At this point surrendering ceased to be an option. The bigger surface vessels moved in on the middle and opened fire with everything they had, with the Fast Attack ships soon flanking and following suit. Come hell or high water the Galician Fleet was getting sunk ASAP.

(Obviously after sinking or surrender or even potential Puerto bag of tricks, the objective is to race towards the marines and save as many as possible)

Caribbean

(I recall Britain agreeing to help save Marines here but that was a few weeks ago so Britain can void this if he wants)

With the attack on the Marines in Europe it wasn't a huge surprise to hear a few minutes later that the same had happened in the Caribbean, although unlike the attack in Europe. The Ships in the Caribbean weren’t preoccupied and immediately radioed a nearby British fleet to help save survivors.

As both fleets arrived they immediately started saving whomever they could, saving those who managed to drop the Landing craft attached to the Marines ships for last. However being bested for a second time in the Caribbean was going to tick off German High Command and with the bulk of the South American fleets getting battered in Europe, perhaps the current Largest German Fleet should make some noise as well.

German Mauritania

The final German move was to pull out all 90k German troops of the newly formed Nigerian Nation now that the GU saw it properly taken care of. These 90k troops would move over 5 days via A400Ms (all the ones the GU has irl would be used, the additional ones IC would be used in Galicia for logistics) to German Mauritania (Nouadhibou).

At sea

The movement of aircraft and activity at airbases and Lusophone could not be missed. Lusophone’s airbases were filling up with foreign aircraft and weapons, the inevitability of an attack was certain. As aircraft accumulated in Lusophone, the Relief fleet began to move out to sea away from the coast and to the south. As the early stages of this movement was occurring, Federation and Puertollano ships fired off anti-ship and cruise missiles at the German fleet. The Federation ships also fired hypersonic missiles at the enemy carriers. After those carriers, the next targets were destroyers and the other missile carrying ships of th German fleet. As electronic warfare was expected, missiles were programmed with thermal and laser guidance systems to bring them to their targets. Even if they changed course, the missiles would still be able to pick out the heat generated by the ships at sea and distinguish them from flares thanks to an optical ship recognition system and computer installed in the guidance module. Cruise missiles would also be launched at airbases and radar stations in Lusophone, with the aim of destroying massive numbers of enemy aircraft just as they were preparing for their attack. It was certain that some enemy aircraft would get off the ground anyways, and as such the FSR and Puertollano had scrambled their own carrier based aircraft. As the enemy gained altitude and came off the Portuguese coast, their own electronic warfare aimed at disrupting ship based radar systems would work against them. Federation and Puertollan fighters, already positioned in the air, would be able to disrupt the enemy formation in hit and run attacks using heat seeking missiles and by always maintaining an altitude advantage. The enemy would be forced to waste fuel on fighting aircraft and evading missiles, in addition to carrying drop tanks to reach the fleet in the first place. Some bombers however, would make it through. They would have to deal with huge numbers of heat seeking missiles launched from Federation destroyers. Some ships would be lost, of course, but by putting the carriers (with escorts) and largest ships at the front of the formation pointing away from Lusophone and the smaller targets the rear of a ship made to enemy aircraft coming from the direction of Lusophone, it was hoped that most losses could be avoided. Friendly fire would not be a danger because of the Federation and Puertollan aircraft’s positioning farther away from the fleet. To help avoid enemy missile strikes, the Galicia relief fleet had been issued large heat insulating tarps, which would be hung on the superstructure and sides of the ships. These would greatly damage the effectiveness of enemy heat seeking missiles for a time, especially as the ships launched flares. Federation AIP equipped and nuclear attack submarines near the fleet would begin efforts to torpedo German ships. The Federation missile submarine force would be stationed behind the Germans, and also in a good position to strike Britain. The presence of British and Russian bombers had been noted in the attacks. Already as the news of the battle was breaking around the world the Federation’s Foreign Relations department rushed to help organize anti-war movements in both countries. Federation missile submarines would meanwhile be busy firing missile after missile at British air and navy across England from off the southern coast of Ireland.

On the other side of the world, the FSR would use one submarine not present at Galicia to launch missiles at Soviet airbases and navy dockyards with the aim of destroying any high potential of a Soviet attack on Andea. Just before the missiles were launched, the FSR would send high priority messages to the governments of Japan and China notifying them of the imminent launches. Prior to any actions near Argentina or Chile, the Federation government would have their ambassador in Santiago deliver the San Martinian leaders a message concerning the launch of missile strikes at European military targets in Cape Thetis and the Falklands. The Federation would now launch land based intermediate range missiles at the Falkland Islands and Cape Thetis’ Italian naval port and Austrian military base.

The Caribbean

The inter-mediate ranged missiles based in the Bolivarian Republic were poised to strike. Ballistic-missile submarines poised there own missiles off the coast of the Bolivarian Republic. The French authorities in the Caribbean were briefly warned before the first action was taken. The submarines surfaced and fired off their allotted anti-ship cruise missiles at the German Caribbean Fleet. The first targets of this strike would be the aircraft carriers first, then the frigates, destroyers and so on. This missile attack was aiming to wound the German Fleet, that only recently lost the lives of tens of thousands of German 'Marines'. Next, fighters would begin to dog the fleet, laying wounded in the middle of the Caribbean. Armed to the teeth with modern radar and (ironically) Exocets, the fleet would be doused with flame. Again this would follow a similar target parameter, to take out the strongest naval utility first then picking off the rest. They would fly back closer to the mainland to resupply, only to go in for additional rounds. The other tool up the sleeve of the Bolivarian Air Force is a newly developed initative, detonation drones, piloted by remote control. Though large enough to be shoot down by anti-air missiles, these 200 small devices would descend on the Germanic Carriers from the depots in the FNI in too strong a number. To make the greatest impact, they would strike the hulls of the ships, detonate on top of dormant jets on the carrier run-way, detonate among foreign combatants aboard the ship. If not these, they would would detonate their explosives where ever they could that would sustain damage against the Germanic navy. Federation and Bolivarian attack submarines based on the rims of the Caribbean would picking off the remaining stragglers in the Germanic Navy if they attempt to escape. Any Germanic Sailor found would be taken to safety, but arrested as prisoners of war. They would remain detained until further notice. The IRBM's based in mainland Puertollano were launched subsequently after the aftermath of the attack on the fleet to hit the Dutch Caribbean island of Orenjestad, where the Germanic Caribbean Forces were based. The missiles would strike the island with enormous impact and destruction, targeting the military facilities, with enough fire-power to totally obliterate any standing army. This would debilitate any kind of reaction, as little man-power could survive such a close-proximity attack.

Iberia

The Premier re-emerged on national television to establish national unity in the face of war. Public sentiment is strongly on the side of the Premier and his efforts to combat the advances against their nation, he particularly drew back memories from the fascist era in which Galicia liberated itself from. It was not long ago now that Galicia overwhelmingly vote for independence, now Western European nations seek to invade and topple the democratically-elected government of Galicia - this has not bode well with the public. After the initial attack on Santiago de Compostela, re-building has been a success, fixing any broken infrastructure that was destroyed in the first attack by Lusophone. Arms were continued to being distributed by the armed forces to the popular revolutionary militias, whose purpose is to resist any assault by Germany and its allies against the Galician Homeland. If any German or hostile nations attempted to move their navies into the sovereign waters of Galicia, they would face a barrage of anti-ship missiles fired from installations on the shoreline. This would prevent any kind of landing by sea or any fleets from getting too close to Galician soil.

Africa

It became obvious to Puertollanoan-aligned forces that the Germanic troops based in Nigeria would attempt to re-enforce their dwindling forces in Europe. However, they did not account for the fact that they would not be allowed to simply fly over the Nigerian Socialist Republic without issue. The Bolivarian Armed Forces base in Nigeria used their advanced anti-aircraft capabilities to shoot down the Germanic troops travelling by air. Without any defenses from anti-aircraft weaponry (as all that was sent was transport planes), the transport planes would most likely be hit and be downed over the landscape of Africa. If the first round of anti-aircraft missiles failed to destroy the aerial convoy, fighter jets would be scrambled to clean out the rest Neither Puertollano nor the NSR tried to rescue any of the survivors, as casualties were most likely going to be all Germanic troops that attempted to fly out of Nigeria.

Iberia

The air raid against the Galicia Relief Fleet was to have been only the first stage of European operations against the South American surface forces attempting to relieve the siege of Galicia. The Anglo-Roman task-force was to have sailed south with the aim of mopping up surviving vessels of the FSR fleet, however a new task presented itself – hunting the missile submarines of the South American navies. Enemy subs had fired against European bases – but in doing so the firing positions of the submarines had been revealed. They would likely attempt to flee, but first they would need to escape the formidable ASW forces of Britain, Rome, and Russia. Soviet attack submarines begin to silently approach the missile launch locations, while helicopters from frigates and ASW patrol planes from European aircraft carriers and facilities in Ireland set about hunting them by air. Tactics would be interwoven so as to best scare the Orostani crews into making errors – active sonobuoys would drop and either directly betray their positions, or in either case act as a barrier seeking to drive them away from continental Europe. If a sub was detected, torpedoes could be dropped by air immediately in order to force them into depleting any inventory of noisemakers, only for one of the Soviet subs or the Anglo-URT fleet to then engage them at a time of their choosing. During the formation of the MDSF, the Europeans had been brought into frequent contact with the underwater topography, and so together with the continent's history of expertise during Cold War era NATO/European Federation/Warsaw Pact ASW drills would hopefully provide the FSR’s submersibles with a sizable obstacle. The Anglo-Roman fleet would also employ extensive ASW protection for its own safety, retaining anti-submarine frigates, helicopters, and a number of escort subs as it gradually makes its way southwest. With the exception of the silent escort subs, all ASW assets of the fleet would be blasting away on active sonar so as to leave no area for enemy submarines to hide.

Europe’s air forces would not be finished. While they had inflicted a heavy toll upon the South American navy, it would have come at a cost of their own. In spite of this, aircraft begin to rearm again – this time with anti-radiation missiles and air-to-ground ordinance for the bombers, and anti-air armament for the fighters. The strike force would begin its campaign against Galicia by targeting static installations such as bases, supply/fuel depots, aircraft hangers, and any tank/armored columns identifiable using satellites, SIGINT, observations from news reports/propaganda/pre-war documentation, and other forms of intelligence. It was hoped that this would then draw out the air defenses of Galicia – luring them into activating anti-air radars, opening fire from formerly concealed emplacements, and such things. These more valuable targets would then face anti-radiation weapons and other incoming fire. AWACs birds, remaining deep within Portuguese airspace, would still be able to detect any hostile intercepting response and pass their positions and vector onto the fighter escorts. In a similar vein, many of the coalition aircraft wouldn’t actually leave Portuguese-controlled airspace, with some of their missiles having the range to strike within Galicia from relative safety. Electronic warfare planes were also present, alternating coverage to blind enemy defense systems as they in turn switch frequencies as an attempted countermeasure to the European air attacks.

Even as the air campaign began, the ground offensive of Portuguese and German forces would resume

The North Atlantic

Federation submarines would begin moving closer to Europe after firing missiles. European aircraft and ships would be searching likely routes to South America or the open ocean. They were unlikely to search areas closer to Europe, meaning that the submarines could move to the South and probably not be detected so long as they stayed close to Europe. The Federation fleet would continue moving away from Europe, a great number of its smaller ships sinking behind it due to European air attack. Federation pilots that could not return to damaged carriers would eject from their aircraft after moving ahead of the fleet, and wait for rescue on the sea.
In Galicia, preparations for an insurgency against enemy troops that would occupy the country would be made. Minefields and ambushes would be prepared, and civilians would be advised on how to best resist an occupation and aid their country. Defenses along the border would show weak spots in certain locations that to an outside observer would look like weaknesses caused by a shortage of men and equipment. When attacked, the troops in these weak spots would retreat after a brief battle. The advancing enemy would be lead into minefields and ambushes. The goal of this strategy was to weaken the enemy and also keep their troops constantly in fear of attack and demoralized.

Around South America

The FSR and Puertollano would begin firing land based missiles at any enemy ships or bases in the Caribbean. The goal was to fire so many missiles and be so overwhelming that the enemy would either have to surrender or be destroyed. Between waves of missiles messages would be sent to enemy ships and bases demanding surrender. Any that did not surrender would be targeted, and those that did surrender would be seized by friendly ships in the area. Carriers and large ships would be targeted with IRBMs, with smaller ships and bases being hit with cruise missiles. Civilian vessels belonging to enemy countries would be boarded and their crews would be detained.

Galicia

As the Air Campaign continued in the skies it was time for the ground campaign to finally begin. However both sides had plenty of time to dig in. So it was agreed within European High Command that the initial invasion should begin with an artillery bombardment. 100 Pieces of Portuguese Artillery opened fire on border installations from (highway?) OU-1212 to the lake named Encoro de Salas. While that was happening pre-determined cruise missile strikes from a German CMCA would target brides crossing the Lima River (only the portion of the Lima River that is completely within Galicia).

After the artillery barrage 15,000 German troops, 400 German AFVs and 27 mix of Europa tanks and Leopard 3s began to push from OU-1212 and the surrounding area, down to the Lima river. Meanwhile directly north of the Germans on top of the mountains 10,000 troops marched atop the mountains with an additional 5,000 troops, 30 Tanks and 150 AFVs marched in the valleys towards the town of Senderiz. These troops would also be supported by 8 Apache Attack Helicopters.

Elsewhere more German troops were beginning their attacks as well, with a grand total of 35,000 troops, 63 tanks and 1600 AFVs spread from just south of encoro de salas to the Lima river would push forward together using both the lake and the river as natural barriers to protect the flanks.

In Europe additional German, Roman, and British troops would be readied for deployment into Galicia. (OOC: Pretty sure this is still the plan, will allow that to be voided if necessary)

Africa

After months of preparation the 90k German troops would finally begin their invasion. 5k troops along with 50 AFVs and 12 tanks would blitz south and move to secure the city of La Guera. While the rest spread out over from the end of the peninsula to the border with french Mauritania and pushed North until they faced resistance, using a small handful of German aircraft to provide close air support once they meet resistance. Which wasn't expected too much of due to the large deployments of Spanish troops to the Galician and Lusophone border and the failure of the Galician relief fleet to deliver promised troops to protect Morocco.

While in Spanish Morocco the Germans would also engage in a propaganda war, promising an independent state to the local Sahrawis who are forced to live under Morocco rule. (This will later change should the Germans make it to Morocco)

Caribbean

The attack on the German assets in the Caribbean was not a surprise considering the Europeans had tried something very similar over in Europe. However what was a pleasant surprise was that Puertollano subs had made the mistake of surfacing while firing their anti-ship missiles. Allowing German anti-submarine missiles firing from the same ships Puertollano attacked to retaliate and hit as many of they could.

As the anti-ship missiles closed in AWACs noticed Puerollano fighters coming in, causing a duel course of action in response. First German carriers began to launch whatever fighters they had available, while patrolling interceptors begun the initial interception of the enemy fighters.

Other course of action was engaging the layered air defense systems of the combined fleets. firstly SRBOCs loaded on each individual ship would attempt to confuse as many anti-ship missiles as possible. Secondly longer ranged Wespe SAMs would be fired at the missiles leading the pack before ships fired other SAMs such as the Sea Sparrow and shorter range Wespe. Thirdly Rolling Airframe missiles would use infared tracking to engage whatever it could breaking through the 1st 2 systems. Finally CIWS would engage the remaining missiles. While it wasn't expected that all missiles would be intercepted. The Germans would still try to contain the treat.

The next phase of Puertollano's attacks was also caught by AWACs, a large swarm of drones was heading towards the fleet. While the Germans wouldn't completely ignore the drones, they were not treated as urgently as the Puertollano aircraft. Once the drones got close enough to the ships .50 caliber machine guns would open fire more than likely tearing holes within the drones (I'm assuming these aren't MQ-9 reapers because those are way to expensive to have this large of a swarm of). The Germans would also retaliate to the drones by firing cruise missiles at the ABC islands at important military and government facilities.

Finally came the Ballistic Missile attacks, while the ballistic missiles aimed at the German fleet wasn't of the same variety the German war machine had available it did scare sailors before utterly missing the fleet entirely due to its inability to hit moving targets. However the Dutch island that was targeted was not so lucky. Air raid alarms blared throughout the entire island as civilians and military personnel alike took shelter wherever they could. In the end much of the military base housing marines, the joint hospital tended to the wounded marines and the few sick within the island as well, and the joint port was destroyed or badly damaged.

The battle was considered to be mostly lost, and the ships retreated to Miami for repairs where they would be safe from further Puertollano attacks. While the GU accepted Canadian relief to the dutch island.

Caribbean
A wide variety of ships from the various nations within FUNA would be headed towards German Caribbean assets shortly after they were struck and shortly after aid was given the greenlight by the German government. They would depart from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Miami, escorted largely by Caribbean Federation and American ships in convoys. The convoys would be carrying over North American peace enforcers, medical supplies, construction equipment, foodstuffs and other humanitarian items and personnel. The Chairman of FUNA Randolph Leyton has openly announced that the mission towards the struck German assets are entirely humanitarian, and any attempt at disrupting them will be treated as an attack on FUNA collectively. Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jarvis Burke as well stated in regards to the convoys that an attack on or disruption or any molestation of FUNA's ships would as well be in violation of the Canadian Monroe Doctrine, as with any conquest/"liberation" of land or militarization of Humanitarian zones such as what is being established on said islands. Any surviving Germanic forces on said islands will be actively escorted back to Germany. German ships in Miami are as well being told to return to Germany once they are Sea-worthy.

Galicia

The German Cruise Missile and shelling attacks were useless. The Galician Republican Army and the Bolivarian Military had already moved their salients away from the borders, following a previous attack. Thankfully, for the resistance forces based in Galicia, the German military decided to use the designated highways and made their movements incredibly predictable. The highways towards the town of Senderiz were hazardous; mainly because they were lined with IEDs, anti-infantry explosives and mines. Assuming the German military would have to disarm all of the traps left behind by the military's of Galicia and Puertollano, the German military were left as sitting ducks while being shelled from artillery based in Senderiz. Local militias used anti-tank weaponry to lead guerrilla attacks on the dormant tanks on the highway, where they would retreat back to the mountains where the terrain would be difficult for the tanks to follow, and would separate the stationed Germanic forces too much for them to follow. These attacks would be almost endless. The militias, armed with both modern weaponry and Semtex-H, would be ceaseless in their attacks. The attack helicopters that were sent over the border were attacked by militias with portable anti-aircraft guns. The helicopters would not be able to escape because the pro-Galician militias were all in the forest-land and spring into attack at the surprise of the German attack helicopters. This stalling of the German military would also open itself up to extensive cruise missile attacks from large cities and larger installments of German forces. That would decimate the invasion force into Galicia. Similar tactics were up-taken against the other forces.

Portugal

Chico Manquinho, the exiled communist agitator of Portugal re-appeared upon television after a concerted cyber attack on the largest telecommunications companies of Portugal. If successful, it would air Chico calling for a socialist uprising among the Portuguese populace, but while that was happening, partisans would prepare for an attack. Awaiting the arrival of President Oluwakemi Taliscas from her trip from Japan, multiple car bombs would detonate from the airport at the Presidential motorcade as the President attempted to leave. Should the first car bombs be unsuccessful, snipers had positioned themselves along the sides of the roads and would spring out to lay fire on the President and her security team. Meanwhile, home-made projectile firebombs were fired at Belem Palace, hoping to burn the building or successfully assassinate Minister's in the President's cabinet. There was also a drive-by-shooting attack on the private residence of the Foreign Secretary Wilma Sampaio.

Caribbean

Any counter-attack from the German Fleet against the Bolivarian Submarines would be hapless. Since they fired cruise missiles at the Germanic naval ships as they surfaced, they had at most a thousand kilometers in distance to escape from retaliation. This meant after they released their loads of anti-ship missiles in a combined volley, the submarines would re-submerge and dodge any ASW retaliation. Although some Airborne Early Warning systems may have been still operational after the missile attack, the overwhelming force and number of Bolivarian jets would easily outnumber and outgun their German counterparts. While the German pilots frantically attempted to get into their planes, time was just not on their side. As Exocets came rocketing into the sides of the aircraft carriers, the aircraft would be destroyed too. The Exocets would particularly hit any method of retaliation from the ships when the explosive drones arrive. And when they did, they would make quick work of the remaining carriers that were still able to float on water. The Germanic counter-attack would be mostly mitigated as even the few German ships that had functioning AWAC technology after being doused with missiles, would be overrun by electronic warfare that would attempt to jam the signals and increase the rate of the destruction of the Caribbean Fleet. This meant most of the explosive warfare drones would successfully careen straight into the carriers and remaining ships, including the frigates, destroyers and so on. The Germans made one last, desperate push against the Federation of Nativist Islands by firing cruise missiles at the ABC Islands. The extensive anti-missiles infrastructure in the FNI would find no problem in eliminating the cruise missiles before they landed, and if the FNI was not able to shoot down the remainders, the Puertollanoan Home Sovereignty system picked up the slack and eliminated the rest. As the Germanic fleet tried to escape from the Caribbean terror, Puertollanoan and Federation attack submarines sprung out and launched a swift attack to destroy the remaining fleet. Almost nothing of the Germanic Fleet should have survived the attack, but if anything did, it would be the scraps of its former self.

The next phase was ready, and arguably, the first phase was the most difficult. The Germanic colonial forces that operated from Oranjestad were fractured, weak and destroyed. Once the naval battle was over, an agreement was reached with the FUNA to remove the remaining Germanic Forces. Adopting a policy of avoiding warfare with the FUNA, the National Bolivarian Armed Forces decided not to occupy the islands, rather allow them to be assumed into neutral territory. The Bolivarian Republic and FUNA agreed to hold a referendum on the newly de-colonised islands as to whether they will join the Federation of Nativist Islands or not. As the scraps of the German Fleet dragged its feet towards Miami, attack submarines of the Federation and Bolivarian Republic were poised off the coast. Per the agreement the Bolivarian Republic struck with North America, the Americans refused to fill up the fuel tanks of the German Fleet. Rather, the Americans would simply patch up the holes in the sides of the hulls, just so they didn't sink. However, that was temporary. When the Germanic Fleet left the territorial waters of the FUNA, the attack submarines swooped on the fleet and undoubtedly finished it. Unless, of course, Germany surrendered. TeleSUR, based in the FNI, would do its work. The air-waves of the Leeward Islands were flooded with pro-Puertollanoan and Bolivarian messages and spoke plenty of the German war crimes committed in the war thus far. FNI activists visited the island ahead of the referendum. More importantly, the Bolivarian Republic and the FNU co-jointly provided humanitarian assistance to the de-colonised islands. President Castillo has announced his intention to meet the local populace to advocate for the inclusion of the islands into the FNI. The FNI has promised billions of dollars in infrastructure improvements and creation of broadband if deigned into the FNI.
