People already are, tbh. The propaganda-grade "ONLY ELECTED EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT KILLED after TERRIBLE court" bulldung articles are already in circumvention.Imbalistan wrote:And there goes the stability!

In all seriousness, can't say I'm sad about his death. I'd have preferred his life imprisonment -for his near-militant support of the Ikhwan, for starters, though that's in no way the only thing he's guilty of- but you get what you get.

Oh, I don't know; writing as someone who's living in Cairo - and only a 20 minute walk from Tahrir Square - believe me, things could be significantly worse.
Anyway, we always have our standby emergency evacuation plans in place, just in case; but we're not really expecting to use them.Des-Bal wrote:

Don't take what I say as anything against you, believe me I'm sure you're a fine person to deal woth, but at this point a mass die off might be what Egypt needs. Clearly Egyptian society in only a decade or two has degenerated from a normal country to a society full of Islamist and terrorists, where Coptic Christians are constantly persecuted and the state is one bad day away from becoming Saudi arabia. This might be an unpopular opinion but from one middle eastern person to another, Egypt is doomed. There is no future for what once was the kingdom of pharoahs
if I'm wrong about the polls then I'm wrong and I'll admit it, but I'm just telling you what I saw in recent polling of Egyptians on several social issues. I wish things were different.
