Cryolis, Gelis System, Beta Quadrant

Nautikos VI Atenai had entered the system a few hours ago, immediately escorted by Pikasistani vessels that were part of the local garrison. Whilst Olimpiadan vessels were more than able to defend themselves from their foes, Gelis was located in the northern most part of the Imperium's borders, which meant that surrouding systems weren't fully pacified and that anyone that knew of the Olimpiadan's true cargo manifesto could launch an attack on the fleet.

Indeed, the Olimpiadans were bringing in one of the most dreaded viral agents of the known galaxy, the Karax virus. Whilst the Federated Worlds and Greater Imperium were relatively spared of the pandemic that raged across countless star systems, killing millions of individuals in the process, due to the absence of GCC gates, the primary known vector of the disease, the Greater Imperium saw great potential on this virus and the subterranean research centers and vaults of Cryolis would prove to be of great value in understanding the virus and perhaps dawn a new generation of Pikasistani biological weapons, which would be significantly more potent than their predecessors.

The FWOS Koruna and Lime carried in its cargo holds dozens of steel canisters, each containing hundreds of glass vials that contained samples of the Karax Virus, and neither the Greater Imperium and Federated Worlds could allow them to escape their custody, lest Pikasistan would face a grave threat that none bar the mechanical abominations of the CASM could withstand. As it finally reached Cemos Station, crews of scientists wearing a special variant of the SH-29 Praetor Armour started to haul the canisters back to the elevator, carefully progressing through the previously evacuated and sealed off corridors of the station.

"Careful with those canisters, this stuff killed over a billion people back on Sabishii", said an Olimpiadan scientist that was on board of the vessel in order to supervise the transportation and transfer of the Karax samples in the subterranean vaults and laboratories of Cryolis. "Don't worry, with those suits, it's virtually impossible for us to drop those down when we're using those suits" replied a Pikasistani through the vox of his suits.

After an hour of careful manipulations, all of the canisters had been successfully transfered from the Kowuna and Lime to the space elevator and the cargo began it's descent toward the subterranean facilities of the world, where researches would be conducted upon the samples that were just delivered. Studies conducted in utmost secrecy, as always, but also with the strictest security protocols and safety procedures, any breach of containment risking the lives of untold millions...

Victoria Aut Mors, Part II
Cryolis, Gelis System, Beta Quadrant

It had been two weeks since the samples of the mysterious Karax virus were delivered to the Pikasistani. Fourteen days of trials to get the tiniest glimpse into the complex agent, yet only the most basic ascertainment had been made by the teams of scientists affected to research it. Two labs had already been scorched by bio containment units has the virus broke away from its containment. It appeared that Karax was able to exploit the tiniest manufacturing flaws in Pikasistani equipment and half a dozen scientists had already been killed by the plague. It was indeed a deadly disease and if the Greater Imperium of Pikasistan managed to understand its working, to fully sequence its genome, it would create a new generation of weapons for the PSMF. Yet, the so called Holy Grail of viral agents seemed to be able to outsmart even the most brilliant minds of the Greater Imperium, be it virologists, xenomicrobiologists or biochemists.

Despite all of the setback however, the scientists' morale didn't waver, working day after day to find a possible way to study it further. Engineers were consulted as new containment systems were needed. Countless schematics had been made by engineers that were working on the storage of the deadliest resources that were used by mankind, yet each simulations showed close to no improvement to the existing mechanisms and it wouldn't be profitable to be produced. It was a considerable setback, yet one that would probably be overcome sooner or later.

A report was sent to the Pikasistani authorities in order to explain the situation, that delays were to be expected and that the new, miraculous weapons that had been promissed would take far more time than they had originally expected. It was now certain they would be over budget and they they didn't have the manpower to make any significant breakthroughs in the estimated delays. Karax was probably years ... perhaps even decades away.

The Imperium would need to resort on other means to win the inevitable conflict that was brewing across the stars...

Stella Ambitio
Anchora Docks, Arcenia

Kaeso gazed through one of the view ports of the main hubs of Anchora, observing the plethora of ships that waltzed in the void, some carrying large struts of metals or plates of graphene, whilst other, smaller vessels, welded parts together. Usually, he wouldn't have paid attention to the construction efforts surrounding the station, yet this time it was very different. Empress Laelys had been crowned in one of the darkest hours of the Imperium, when the Aesirs and their allies had invaded and swiftly defeated the Belgioswedes, which now existed as refugees within a handful of their former allies and, more recently, as a small, semi-autonomous state where their former kingdom existed. The two Aesir Wars had marked a profound change in Pikasistani foreign affairs, as the fall of Belgiosweden, and the recapture of the lost territories cost many Pikasistani lives. The Empress had declared that Pikasistan was to be the Pretorian of Penton, and as such, a vast program of military expansion was under way. All of the shipyards throughout the nation were building ships around the clock, filling the losses of PCCN and expanding it so it could fulfill the important mission she gave to them. However, it wasn't enough, the expansion was still too slow to the liking of the Imperial Authorities. Indeed, with the deterioration of the relations between SATMA and the OSJ, it was deemed necessary to expand the shipyards of the Greater Imperium to achieve the desired rates of constructions. As such, Anchora was being expanded to build twice as many vessels concurrently and for the first time in Pikasistani history, the construction would be undertaken by a foreign corporation.

The announcement came out about 5 months after he first heard of the expansion of the shipyard and it shocked him, despite being an Olimpiadan corporation, which were viewed by the Pikasistani as their Gamman brother. After multiple submissions were examined by corporations from Pikasistan and its closest allied nations, the Senatorum Imperialis had decided to give the lucrative task to the Hex Conglomerate, notably after the demonstration of their capabilities by building the shipyards of Clockwork. Even if the contract was given to the prime allied of the nation, some major restrictions still lied in the contract, which were probably accepted only due to the undisclosed value of the colossal construction works needed. Phase 1 of the project requires that 80% of Pikasistani made materials be used in the construction, whilst Phase 2 and 3 are respectively going to 65% and 60%, notably because of the need for Antimatter reactors which still lies beyond technical range of the nation, despite the ever increasing production of the dangerous substance.

The ships still moved through the darkness of the void, resembling a small swarm of bees. He turned around and went back to the table were he and a handful of colleagues were eating. Soon, it would be them that would be flying those ships around Anchora's newest docks, contributing to the expansion of one of the most crucial infrastructures of the nation...

Aurora Concordia
Excerpt of the Trunius Herald published a month following the signature of the Ruzian Concord

...More details have finally been released on the controversial deal struck between Empresses Laelys of our most illustrious nation and Izumi of the Divine Sovereignty of Hosueidou. Recent revelations made by an anonymous source within the delegation says that the signature of the Pikasis-Houseidou Pact, known popularly as the Ruzian Concord, comes with many disadvantageous terms for the Magnam Imperii. But before we treat of those new revelations, a brief summary of the events that led to the signature of the Concord is in order as many other, less reliable, mediums have spread disinformation in regards to the history behind this historical, albeit divisive, treaty.

[...]

New revelations indicates that not only the Magnam Imperii is forbidden to establish any forms of military developments in the newly acquired system, but that out nation is now constrained into eventually helping the nation's former rival in the Takyos Reaches into helping them deal with the Basaka, an extremely dangerous xeno race located within the Delta Quadrant. As much as waging war against the xenoi threat is a duty of our people, and one of the wider Interstellar Compact for Human Collective Harmony (ICHCH), many citizens across the nation see eventual deaths to help the Divine Soverignty to expand its territory away from the Magnam Imperii's heartland as a slap to the face. Imperial communication office released a statement saying that whilst it "understood the grievances of the people", that the "normalisation of relations between Pikasis and Houseidou is a necessary progress as the astropolitical situation deteriorates" and that subsequent plans to colonise the now undisputed system would lead to "vast economic fallouts throughout the Takyos Reaches", a region particularly divided on the issue.
