THE CONSORTIUM PROCLAMATION
A Roleplay of The Srivijayan Consortium
The Consortium Proclamation, or, The First Conference of Greater Palembang, is The Srivijayan Consortium's first official RP set in the modern world. This will be an Open RP, outsiders of our region are free to send delegates to observe the proceedings.
The Srivijayan Consortium is a regional alliance based on the ideals of unity between Oriental nations, that is to say, victims of the post-colonial tyranny of imperialist nations. We believe in mutual assistance between nations of newly-achieved independence, and seek to protect the sovereignty of our constituents through aid and strategic defense. In essence, we are an Oriental NATO for developing countries.
The regional headquarters for the Srivijayan Consortium, and the place of attendance for the Consortium Proclamation will be in a diplomatically neutral zone, Greater Palembang, an enclave of the Pan-Asiatic States, but politically, in the territory of no nation whatsoever.
While this RP is technically set in the MT universe, we welcome delegations from all tech levels. Friends of the members of the Consortium are very much invited to join us in the celebration of the Proclamation. Regional natives are required to send their leaders themselves to proclaim allegiance to the region, and are expected to have a prepared speech regarding their newfound relationship to the region.

THE CONSORTIUM PROCLAMATIONWe, the Austronesian people, acting through the duly elected representatives of our duly reformed countries in this Consortium between Nation-States, determined that we shall secure for ourselves and our posterity the fruits of peaceful cooperation with all nations and the blessings of liberty throughout this land, and resolved that never again shall we be visited with the horrors of civil strife through the actions of government, do proclaim that sovereign power resides with the people and do firmly establish this alliance. Government is a sacred trust of the people, the authority for which is derived from the people, the powers of which are exercised by the representatives of the people, and the benefits of which are enjoyed by the people.
Yet we believe, that despite these agreements, the warmongering outsiders who have deceived our forefathers continue to strip our proud culture bare of any resemblance to that of our mighty past.
For we believe that even before the European imperialization of Asia, civilized political organization had already been established by the indigenous descendants of great empires such as Srivijaya, Majapahit, Tondo, Lu Song, and many more-- further justified by the establishment of Nationalist revolutions across the Southeast Asian and East Asian territories, highlighted by the Philippine Revolution which had aspired to unite our Austro-Asian mixture of populations into one alliance, just as we are striving to do in this day and age. This is a universal principle of mankind upon which this alliance is founded. We reject and revoke all constitutions, laws, ordinances, and rescripts in conflict herewith.
We, the citizens of war-torn lands, desire peace for all time and are deeply conscious of the high ideals controlling human relationship, and we have determined to preserve our security and existence, trusting in the justice and faith we have inherited from the great Sultans, Kings, and Emperors; who just as we aim to do, have time and time again driven the thefts, vandals, and destroyers of our culture from our lush, young lands.
We desire to occupy an honored place in an international society striving for the banishment of tyranny and slavery, oppression and intolerance for all time from the earth. We recognize that the citizens of our beloved homeland, Asia, have the right to live in peace, free from imperialism, fear and want.
We believe that no nation is responsible to itself alone, but that laws of political morality are universal; and that obedience to such laws is incumbent upon all nations who would sustain their own sovereignty and justify their sovereign relationship with other nations.
We, people of an ideologically diverse coalition, aim to ostracize the Western values which have subjugated our people, secure everlasting peace, and restore the glorious culture of our ancestral legacy through united cooperation between the Pan-Austronesian nations of the world.
We, as one Srivijayan Consortium, pledge our national honors to accomplish these high ideals and purposes with all our resources:
- The countries of the Srivijayan Consortium through mutual cooperation will ensure the stability of their region and construct an order of common prosperity and well-being based upon justice.
- The countries of the Srivijayan Consortium will ensure the fraternity of nations in their region, by respecting one another's sovereignty and independence and practicing mutual assistance and amity.
- The countries of the Srivijayan Consortium by respecting one another's traditions and developing the creative faculties of each race, will enhance the culture and civilization of the Orient.
- The countries of the Srivijayan Consortium will endeavor to accelerate their economic development through close cooperation upon a basis of reciprocity and to promote thereby the general prosperity of their region.
- The countries of the Srivijayan Consortium will cultivate friendly relations with all the countries of the world, and work for the abolition of racial discrimination, the promotion of cultural intercourse and the opening of resources throughout the world, and contribute thereby to the progress of mankind.
