Climb The Political Ladder - Or Fall Off.

For decades, the ‘Elder Races’ of the Interstellar Assembly have successfully stalwarted the efforts of the ‘Embassy Races’ to expand the Galactic Council. External threats, financial stimuli, and ‘lack of Interstellar participation’ were all listed reasons for denial. Internal bickering between the Embassy Races saw a disunited front that the members of the Council were able to drive wedges into. Most proposals died in committee, sabotaged by internal bickering or stymied by underhanded schemes, before ever seeing the light of a vote.

Yet, no longer.

Three days ago the Embassy Races put forward a united petition, comprising of over two thirds of all species in the Assembly, calling for the Council to expand its position to include a fifth member and to elevate a new race to ‘Elder’ status. It was a unique stratagem, in that it did not propose any specific species as a candidate, but instead left that option to the Council -- allowing the proposal to garner sufficient support from representatives that might have otherwise declined to support it.

For two days, the Council deliberated on the matter in utter silence and secrecy, leading many to expect - or hope for - overt fractures and bickering behind closed doors. On the eve of the second day, the Council handed the Assembly its ruling: “Pick amongst yourself one you see fitting for the role of Councillor.”

Galactic News erupted at the proclamation, clamouring for the new opportunity presented to be taken by all races. Some had anticipated this course of action all along, of course, while others were dismayed that their patrons and sponsors had not been able to grant them the seat. Now, the gears of the Assembly are turning, and everywhere, representatives scurry to secure their species’ place among the stars.

How the RP will be done:
  • Every two days (90 hours) the Council will schedule a vote on the matter of a new Councillor from the embassy races.
    • OOCly, this will be represented by a week.
  • Through plot and intrigue, and perhaps bribery, general polling and preferences, the pool of candidates will likely dwindle with every successive vote.
    • The first few votes should and will be a free-for-all, with no sudden victory or leader. Your species are being given the chance to become some of the most powerful bureaucrats and diplomats in the galaxy -- they should be fighting brutally for this, and pulling out all the stops to undermine each other.
  • Political intrigue, scandal and campaigning should be done and posted. Keep OOC discussions of what your representatives will do to a relative minimum -- i.e, don’t just say who your species will vote for and do all the bribery in the Discord. Do that in the IC.
    • Few statesmen do things out of the goodness of their hearts. If your diplomats are voting for people ‘just cuz,’ you may need to re-evaluate character motivations.
  • BIG THINGS that affect EVERYONE or a large group should be run past the OPs before you do them. If you want to assassinate a representative, please work that out with that player. If you want to detonate a bomb to kill many people or sneak hallucinogens into the air shafts, or other things like that, let the OPs know.
    • We’re not going to forbid you from doing it, necessarily. We just want to have a plot response ready.
  • ASSEMBLY BUREAUCRATS ARE RUN BY THE OPS -- this is to say, if your character wants to get information or something by bribing a member of the bureaucracy that runs Amity station, the OPs will control the response and let you know what your character finds out or receives.

Important Information

The Incumbent Council:
Image
"I wish I had acquired wisdom at less of a price."

Áthulé na’Ludôch - Granddaughter of Anéwd, the Tarondil bannerman responsible for mapping the Ludôch system. A graduate of the Officer Academy, Áthulé’s appointment to the Foreign Office was, much to her chagrin, a matter of complex political bargaining in the aftermath of the Ternary War, of which she is a veteran. Her grit and determination, however, saw her rise through the ranks; and when the previous Elder Councillor passed away, she orchestrated a masterful campaign to succeed her. Currently, her goals appear to be to combat UP influence at every level, to help maintain Drudari dominance in Galactic politics, and extending the influence of the minor House Ludôch.

Image
"Let it be said that I supported this course of action from the beginning."

Brugmansia Solanaceae — , or ‘Solanaceae’/ ‘Solan’ as he is known to foreigners, The First Awoken of Ijurij. Solanaceae is one of the oldest functioning Xyn still in existence, having been alive for almost 700 years before entering the racial psionic trance. Solanaceae possesses no single sex, though identifies as a ‘he’ for other races, and was born without a capability to procreate. Strangely, Solan is capable of a self-sexual reproduction. Solan is additionally known as a mystic, or a seer, and often is a first port of call for interpreting the ‘dreams’ of the Xyn collective consciousness. He is a shrewd diplomat, an upholder of the levels of bureaucracy within the Assembly and is known for his pragmatic view on the council. On matters of humanitarian aid, he espouses the Xyn ethos on “The Custodianship” in a vehement manner. He was appointed Councillor almost thirty years ago. His goal, and that of the Xyn, is to advance Galactic Camaraderie as best they can. As per the custodianship, they often disrespectfully (though unintentionally) remind the other races of their shortcomings in attempts to make sure such actions are never done again. Solanaceae’s gear may be elaborate, but it is necessary for him to live. It serves as a stabilising platform for his would-be-fragile mind, assisting him in channeling the overbearing psionic energy in his mind. It additionally sustains him; it is adorned in ‘solar panels’, that absorb sunlight far more successfully than his ancient photosynthesis cells. None know what Solan looks like beneath his gear; but it is fairly obvious given his form that he is an extremely gaunt and frail Xyn.

Image
"This Council does not have my vote."

Lord Halen şe Tehij ceş Khužac - A scion of the House of Tehij, a former naval officer, and once a court favourite. Lord Halen was the fourth son of a lesser branch of the Tehij family, a relatively minor dynasty within the Khužac Tribe, and so was to make his own way in the world. Though he followed for some time a career in the navy, his true talent lay in courtly intrigue. His years at court are infamous, though several mistakes cost him his position and saw him dreadfully punished. He thus now resides at Amity, forced to undertake duties as an Elder Councillor. He rarely puts effort into the position, relying heavily upon a team of advisors. Their goals are twofold: to frustrate Drudari attempts at anything, and to thwart and delay the entire Assembly on accomplishing anything meaningful, and anything meaningless.

Image
"All things in balance, as they should be."

Bittersweet Sun - A collective amalgamation of approximately 5,550 Chirrin present within Amity Station, Bittersweet Sun [Son] is the longest-running autonomous submind unit the Seven have. Existing for 86 years - one year before the formation of the Assembly - Bittersweet Sun [Son] was created by the Seven to be their collective representative to the Assembly and most other species outside of Seven space. For all intents and purposes, Bittersweet Sun [Son] handles all Seven interests that involve day-to-day diplomatic interaction. While technically the longest lasting sub-autonomous unit, the Seven are careful to recycle a tenth of Bittersweet Sun [Son]’s units every month, ensuring its continued loyalty to the collective.

In the past two decades, however, Bittersweet Sun [Son] has retreated to its own habitat dome (technically owned by the Seven, with environmental controls as a result), sending individual units out to communicate with outsiders as needed. In its absence, it appointed a Ravnikai representative, Sqziiti, to serve as the Seven’s representative to the Council. The Proxy, as it is known to the Seven, is under strict orders to be fastidiously neutral when it comes to Council votes -- although it may be as corrupt as it wishes when it comes to sponsoring lower legislation or crafting regulation.

Occasionally the Proxy receives fairly esoteric rules or guidance from the Seven (duly relayed by Bittersweet Sun [Son]), on how to vote, but these instructions were never frequent to begin with, and have only dwindled in frequency over time.

"We haven't forgotten."

Sqziiti/Red Feather - the Ravnikai Proxy to the Council, possessing the Seven’s vote. An elderly Ravnikai, he is sociopathic by the normal standards of his species. Barely part of a group mind, he prefers the company of xenos rather than his people - yet another factor that sets him apart. Fairly sadistic even by human standards, he restrains his desire for power and violence to more refined pursuits, including inflicting pain by bureaucratic legalese and obstruction. Fairly skilled in the art of the red tape. Has strict orders from the Seven to preserve Council balance.

The Ambassadors:
Lady Sevali T'anas, the Carasi Ambassadress.
Senator Valika Fel, the Velutarian Ambassadress.
Deacon Sadavyr Turayn Idar, the Tal'Akdari Ambassador.
Utpish Kuyzhis-tsa Muzh, the Shiypasta Ambassador
Cracked Beak, the Ravnikai Ambassador

Amity:

Amity is divided into two - Amity Station, a large complex of orbital shipyards, offices, and other complexes, which hovers in near-geosynchronous orbit above the barren planet, and Amity Base, a collection of habitats and underground bases below. Both are massive installations, holding several million people -- but unlike most installations throughout known space, they are spacious and luxurious. For most, space is ironically a luxury in space -- and many are lucky to own a few square meters aboard ships or orbital complexes. In Amity, special care was taken to make the installation grand, even luxurious, with large communal areas and ample space set aside for many functions.

This was not to say that life on Amity Station was perfect. Many hundreds of thousands of Assembly bureaucrats lived, worked, and died on the station, as it served as the primary hub of the Assembly Fleet and most pan-galactic organizations. The Fleetmaster of the Interstellar Assembly had his offices here, and many Assembly officer training academies were here as well -- and the dockyards and shipyards of the Fleet were here too. With so many people working in one area came their families, and all the services needed to supply them with a normal life -- schools, playgrounds, hospitals, libraries, restaurants, pubs, brothels, and so much more. Amity Station is truly a city unto itself.

Of notable importance on Amity are the large-scale hydroponic and farm domes used to supply both the Station and base below with a semblance of a semi-sufficient food supply. It is not, as the population has swelled to the point of requiring regular and daily imports of all sorts of foodstuffs from across the galaxy, but it is something, and more importantly, it provides most people with their only glimpse of nature in a larger form than a potted plant. Many sections of Amity Station are currently undergoing renovation due to the large-scale migration of bureaucrats and diplomats down to Amity Base a few years prior, leading many disreputable organizations to spring up in their absence.

On the surface, things are... different. Few colonize barren planets, and few do so in such a way that the Assembly has. Six mega-domes dot the surface, each surrounded by dozens of smaller domes. A glistening network of maglev trains connect each large dome to the others, allowing citizens to travel between the domes while admiring the harsh surface of the planet that surrounds them. Few other structures have sprouted from the surface - a long cable that emerges from an elevated platform and stretches into space past Amity Station marks the space elevator, and a needle-thin spire that towers over a nearby megadome marks the Assembly University. Other than these, the surface remains pock-marked and unmarred by either nature or machine.

Four of the mega-domes belong to the Elder Council, and serve as the primary hub of each one's population in the area - although it is by no means exclusive. Several hundred thousand reside within each dome, and the architecture within each is wildly different. The Seven's dome, for example, allows no natural light to penetrate from the exterior, and in fact represents nothing less than a massive series of caverns and tunnels -- while the Xyn prefer more open spaces and lush greenery, going so far as to park solar collectors in orbit to concentrate more light on their dome for illumination, and food.

The fifth dome is reserved for the Forum of the Cosmos and the Elder Council's meeting chambers -- as well as all attendant equipment, security offices, and such things. The sixth dome, however, is different. Situated slightly away from the rest, light is perpetually dimmed within, casting everything inside in a hushed shade. Here lie all the museums and halls of memory of the Assembly, containing everything from xenoarchaeology exhibitions to cultural festivals to memorial services for particularly honorable members of the Assembly. It is a place of knowledge, reflection, and somber reflection on galactic history.

The Assembly has also set aside a number of areas for celebratory purposes, including fighting arenas and the 'Perpetual Stage' (so named for the nonstop performances that take place there at all hours).

The smaller domes around each megadome serve for the smaller embassy races as well as galactic bureaucracy and other necessary services.

Underneath the entirety of the aboveground complexes run a vast labyrinth of tunnels and further complexes, serving as housing, storage, and other such things. Here too lie the multiple staggered reactors that power the entire complex, and the heavily shielded core of the station's AI -- Thesh.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title: Áthulé na'Ludôch, Lady of Dhávuve | Áthulé na’Ludôch | Áthu

Age: 111

Sex: Female

Race: Drudari

Occupation: Previously a commanding officer aboard the Méráli, and a veteran of the Drudari-Ternary War and the Battle of Ravnikai in particular. Following the conclusion of the war, she was reassigned to the Foreign Office after her "voluntary" resignation from the Cabáchûsh’arrûl.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Áthulé's main goals appear to be to counter Ternary influence, to help maintain Drudari dominance, and to extend the influence of the House Ludôch.

Personality/Character Psychology: Proud, but reserved. Áthulé herself rarely even meets with embassy races, considering them below her station.

Short Biography: Granddaughter of Anéwd, the Tarondil bannerman responsible for mapping the Ludôch system.

Skeletons in the Closet: Though claiming descent from the House of Ludôch, Áthulé instead is of bastard origin, born to a Carasi pirate father and an unknown Drudari mother. She was adopted by House Ludôch to fulfill a prophecy native to the Ludôch homeworld of Dhol Dhyrod. She and most the galaxy is unaware of her unique heritage, but it is an open secret among her entourage. She also harbours a dark secret, concealed after pulling innumerable strings, and known only to herself and a select few Drudari higher-ups. Áthulé was an officer of one of the ships during the Battle of Ravnikai; and was responsible for the firing order which resulted in the levelling of a small city. Though she feels great guilt, she believes that the revelation of such information would compromise her career, as it did to a great many veterans of the battle.

Other Noteworthy Characters:
Commander Olaré na'Núvshé - a Cabáchûsh’arrûl officer who acts as the Councillor's head of security and adviser on military matters.
Tenoixitc - an Urqacauq who acts as the Councillor's bodyguard. He fought alongside Áthulé during the Drudari-Ternary War, owing a life debt to Áthulé for unknown reasons.
Dhúliva na'Thûnúpa - a naive, idealistic and young, by Drudari standards, diplomat who conducts most of the Councillor's contact with Embassy Races.
Nôdhwe na'Ludôch - an agent from House Ludôch who acts as the Councillor's confidant and source of information.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title: Councillor Brugmansia Solanaceae, The First Awoken of Ijurij | Solanaceae | Solan (Very informal, used solely amongst close friends.)

Age: 719 Galactic Standard Years.

Sex: None, but identifies as a 'He' for other races.

Race: Xyn.

Occupation: Solanaceae was awoken on Ijurij, speculated to be his birth-planet. He was identified upon being awoken as the planet's highest authority, serving as its plant-wide consciousness' elected leader -- the Mystagogue of Ijurij, yet still beneath the First Speaker of the Cosmos. Solanaceae's personal history sees him having served in numerous positions: as Mystagogue of Ijurij, Seer Sacred of the Galactic Eye (position now defunct), Ambassador to REDACTED and for an unspecified amount of time the Grand Hierophant and Mystic Profound of Naharanthwa. Roughly six years after being awoken, Solanaceae's previous service (still recalled by numerous Xyn, fairly well) allowed him to rise to the position of Councillor for the Xyn.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Solanceae's principle influence within the Council is seen on galactic wide xenoitarian efforts, the development of better aid networks and a staunch public support for the work of the GHA and the Purple Sash. He is vehemently noted for his staunch opposition to slavery and his unwillingness to treat with specific slavers (he makes an exception for the UP, given their status). He delegates his underlings to treat with them. A noted supporter of the Ravnikai, he has referred to the destruction of Ravnikor as the 'single most irresponsible act one people has done to another.'

Notable sponsored legislation involve the ratification of the GHA treaty with new assembly states, its expanse of operations and its maintenance of its clinics, etc. (We haven't actually named legislation.)

Solanaceae constantly strives to aim to pass legislation safeguarding Xyn dormant worlds. He is also adamant in pressing the Xyn philosophy of 'The Custodianship.'

Personality/Character psychology: Regarded as the 'Silent Councillor' given his incapability to verbally communicate, Solanaceae is motivated by a desire to see the Xyn return to their position in times long gone by. He is not overtly critical and actually fairly friendly, amiable even. If certain parametres are fulfilled. He has the faint feelings of a psionic supremacist, but this comes across as paternalistic rambling as opposed to xenophobia. During debates, he is noted for his aggressive use of the Xyn's sign language and text-to-speech mechanisms presented by Thesh, often reserving psionic telepathy for one-on-one conversations due to 'mental strain'.

Short Biography: After awaking in Ijurij, Solanaceae was quickly and fairly unanimously reinstated as Mystagogue of the Planet. He was integral to seeing it re-awaken completely and led numerous excursions to reawaken new Xyn worlds. The Galaxy that Solan remembers is long gone and strange new races fill the void: but at least it was done. Solanaceae's almost legendary status and reverence as a Seer and Mystic earned him a reputation of interpreting Xyn visions and guiding their history, distinguishing what is fact and what was psionic dream. Given his older experience and his immense age, Solan was selected to serve as the Xyn's second councillor -- after the first, Polygonum Cuspidatum, performed the 'Joining' (ritualistic suicide) after mind rot. He has served, continuously, as Councillor for 30 years. He is noted for his exo-suit, which is potent enough to help him manage and control his immense psionic ability. It additionally conceals his frail body and is covered in solar panels that absorb solar energy far more efficiently than the remnants of his photosynthesis cells do.

Skeletons in the Closet: A few well to-do-lobbyists are aware of Solan’s deep desire for the preservation and acquisition of Ancient Hierophancy artefacts: and even those of the elusive Marsakarans, who he passes off as the Xyn’s own. Solan’s rampant extremism in regards to his belief of the preservation of true galactic knowledge have had him pull political strings and favours in regards to silencing (not killing, mind you), political opponents who champion ideals against that of Xyn reacquisition of their ancient planets.

REDACTED

Other Noteworthy Characters:
  • Attendant Lepidium Meyenii: a 'Xyn Monk' from the Monastery on Naharanathwa, who has dedicated her service to defend Solanaceae until either the end of his life of hers. She serves as his most trusted adviser, counselling Solan on matters of policy he is not entirely familiar with.
  • Conium Maculatum: A high ranking diplomat of the Xyn race, who is designated to treat with slaving lobbyists and lobbyists from Tel'Akdar that espouse their dogma.
  • Pelamis: An Uprahlurongi, renowned for his cooking capability. He serves Solanaceae's odd desire to actually eat food. He often prepares the banquets for the Council, and uses this position and his waiting staff to learn what they can.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal: Lady Sevali T'anas, Ambassadress. Lieutenant. "Sevali".

Age: 113

Sex: Female

Race: Carasi

Occupation: "Big Man", former Lieutenant of the Atrenas Home Fleet.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Sevali stands for what the Caras believe in: gathering glory, status, and resources for her people, her Primarchousa, and herself. She takes a great interest in the diplomatic legitimacy of the Pact and the uniqueness of the Carasi people. In many ways, she is an opportunist, willing to shift friends, foes, alliances, and deals to suit her needs as situations develop. She has, in the past, resolved conflict between Carasi culture and the diplomatic demands of interstellar diplomacy, such as being just about solely responsible for organized Carasi initiation into the Peace Fleet - seeing it as a compromise between traditional glory and diplomatic stability.

Personality/Character psychology: Driven by the Carasi sense of honor, Sevali is not above using alternative methodology to push forth her agendas, schemes, and plans, nor does she disregard anyone as a potential ally. To those that suit her needs of the moment, she is a dear and loyal friend. To those that cannot be swayed to her cause, she is a venomous spider. Her outward persona is most often amicable, this being perhaps the closest thing to her personality without the burdens of duty to sway her to one side or another.

As is the case with most Caras, Sevali takes oaths very seriously. Despite her willingness to scheme, she also prefers to be rather direct in her presentation or language. At any moment, one will be fully aware of her feelings and her notions about people, her outrage or her agreement, and what she thinks of people and things; though, she would be entirely silent on the actions she takes because of these circumstances. In this regard, Sevali is also very directly involved in her work, rarely delegating tasks or meetings to others. She prides herself on her ability to maintain control and multitask under pressure.

Despite her high station, the eternal momento mori of her people - that their status relies on their ability to continually generate prosperity for others and can be stripped at a moment's notice should this fail - keeps her humble. It is perhaps for this very reason that she obsesses over controlling everything personally, and considers nothing and nobody beneath her.

Short Biography: Born on the Carasi capital of Atrenas to the T'anas clan, Sevali strove from birth to glory. At the age of 15, she enlisted as a slave on a pirate ship to gain her first taste of war, blood, wealth, and glory. She quickly rose to buy her own freedom and her own ship, and used her experience to great success. By age 20, she had gained a significant following, and become a noblewoman accordingly. By 25, she caught the eye of the Primarchousa, and was made an officer in her fleet. At the tender age of 27, she witnessed the Destruction of Ravnikor while on a piratical mission. The experience forced her to retire from the navy two years later, and instead to ask her mistress for a less violent position. Appointed as the chief ambassadress to the Assembly instead, she outlived her original mistress for the lack of violence, and helped to reforge the Caras under Araedis as a diplomatically-viable confederation under interstellar law.

Skeletons in the Closet: Sevali's trauma in witnessing the Destruction of Ravnikor has mostly faded, but at the time was seen as unconventional and quite disgraceful - the attitude having followed her for most her life. It is a major insecurity of hers, and those old enough to remember her as an active pirate whisper about her cowardice and the nepotism of the previous Primarchousa. This nepotism takes to an extreme in some rumors and states that they were illicit lovers, that the reappointment was a case of bringing a loved one out of danger. Her willingness to engage in alternative methodology and private deals is not entirely unknown, but for obvious reasons those involved often keep to themselves as well - not least of which because, at worst, she can only be accused of standing for her people and nobody else. To others, however, she may seem inconsistent and unreliable, willing to carry forth on a deal but her attitude shifting drastically once her promise was fulfilled. With the mixed attitudes of the Caras and other races over her actions past and present, her history as a slave and a pirate before the founding of the Assembly cannot be ignored either - even if she defends it as a time "long ago" and tries to explain how piracy, as a Carasi cultural institution, led to a net positive for the present day.

Other Noteworthy Characters:
[*]Araedis, the Primarchousa of the Caras
[*]K'ari, one of her slaves
[*]Thouka, another slave
[*]Yekxo, yet another slave
[*]D'orale, the last slave

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal: Lord Halen şe Tehij ceş Khužac, the Marquis Overflowing with Benevolence | "You dare address me informally? Begone wretched peasant"

Age: 96

Sex: Male

Race: Thyssian

Occupation: While Lord Halen formerly served in the Ternary Navy, most know that his role was more ceremonial, a result of favour shown at court. His main occupation was that of the Empress' favourite, rising to lead his own faction in the fractious and byzantine Ternary Court. That he showed great skill in surviving and keeping his high status for over 35 years before his downfall reveals that he is possessed of a degree of cunning and savagery. His downfall was political, the Empress needing to rid herself of a liability, her continued favour revealing itself in his present status, that of a man still alive and with potential to return to her grace.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Lord Halen rarely turns up to meetings of the Elder Council unless he is personally required, and rarely has any understanding of what is being discussed. This is not a case of him being simple, but of a lack of care for what is to him a temporary punishment. His advisers on the other hand are very interested in two things: the continued existence of slavery, and usage of the Assembly to drain and stall Drudari expansionism.

Personality/Character psychology: As with most noble Thyssians, Lord Halen is considered pompous, proud, psychopathic, and paranoid.

Short Biography: A scion of the House of Tehij, a former naval officer, and once a court favourite.

Skeletons in the Closet: Lord Halen is rumoured to be the father of one or several of the princelings. It's true. Not going to tell you who though.

Other Noteworthy Characters:
Lord Nujis şe Ludos ceş Hajes, Baron of Mark - Chief adviser to Lord Halen, a fellow Thyssian around 134 years of age.
Lady Rhin şe Muhiş ceş Cosir, Marquess - Lord Halen's recent wife, a rich heiress aged around 65 years.
Imoketi Soh-Koto - The captain of Lord Halen's personal guard, an Imko of around 56 years of age.
Black Ordination Unit- A team consisting of two Thyssian soldiers, a Mah'rani Psion Hunter, two Bulgarakas and their two handlers, a Potent Bulgaraka (usually kept in an artificial coma) and its team of handlers, and a small pack of Alachi.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal (For instance, Councillor Brugmansia Solanaceae, goes by ‘Solanaceae’ and ‘Solan’ to non Xyn): Councillor Bittersweet Sun [Son], Combined Representative of the Seven Bright Ones

Age: 86

Sex: Neuter/Neither/All/Both/It

Race: Chirrin

Occupation (Whilst ‘Ambassador’ is obvious, what did they do before this? Does their ambassadorial status reflect civil service?): Bittersweet Sun [Son] was created for the express purposes of outside communication with Assembly races, formed from an amalgamation of splinter memories and thoughts of the Seven and merged into a new autonomous routine. It existed prior to the formation of the Assembly for only a year, where it was actively formulating Assembly processes and legal codes, and has participated in the Assembly since. It has held no roles nor titles outside that of 'Councillor,' and has had no impact on local operations within the rest of the Seven. It was created for the Assembly, and has no official purpose outside of it.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes (What does your character and nation care about? What legislation do they propose or take great interest in?): The Seven themselves care about a fairly wide variety of topics ranging from standardized engine outputs to transmission bands used by the Assembly forces, and once frequently directed Bittersweet Sun [Son] accordingly. These communications have dwindled, and Bittersweet Sun [Son] has had more autonomy to act towards legislation as it wishes. It has further delegated this authority to the Ravnikai Proxy, Red Feather/Sqziiti.

The Seven particularly care about the concept of rights, adopting a fairly strong view towards the preservation of individual or national rights against the galactic community save when those rights are consensually removed or violated. They further care strongly about Assembly rights regarding presentients and pre-Winds races, and Assembly definitions on the definition of an individual. They are strong patrons of cultural and philosophical schools of thoughts, offering many Assembly grants accordingly.

Personality/Character psychology (What motivates this character? How do they respond? Are they proud and imperious, surrounded with pomp and prestige, or are they humble and quiet? Etc): Bittersweet Sun [Son] is fairly alien, even on a planet filled with aliens. It offered and showed no signs of personality, delivering even the most passionate of speeches in a strictly monotone translation via Thesh. Efforts at befriending it were futile, given the lack of shared commonalities or interests. Bittersweet Sun [Son] is not standoffish or aggressive, simply unemotional and seemingly unconcerned about itself. Those that venture frequently into the Seven's megadome do occasionally learn more about Bittersweet Sun [Son]'s personality, expressed via fairly alien reactions from the Chirrin units that make up the subautonomous routine.

In its last two decades of semi-isolation, it is clear that the routine is searching for something, but requests for information are as varied as the price of a donut in the human city of Bogota to the number of pre-Winds deities within the United Planets. Offerings of information - particularly information not available elsewhere - may or may not sway Bittersweet Sun [Son] on any particular issue.

Short Biography (A detailing of the career of this character, and how they came to represent your people in the Interstellar Assembly): Bittersweet Sun [Son] was created by the Seven out of extant units within their own minds, to represent the combined will of the Seven. It oversaw Seven contributions to the initial Assembly, as well as the construction of Amity Station/Base and the mega-dome of the Seven. Since then, it has overseen Assembly affairs without fail.

Two decades ago, Bittersweet Sun [Son] appointed a Ravnikai from Bright Roost, Sqziiti/Red Feather, as their Proxy, and retreated into the Seven's mega-dome with little explanation, even when directly pressed. It regularly declines meetings unless provided with an explanation as to why the person cannot meet with Red Feather instead, and even then, rarely stirs from its chambers. For many within Amity Base, the Chirrin are practically a myth, never seen outside their dome.

Skeletons in the Closet (does this character have shady secrets, abuses of their power, unknown meetings and deals? Does this character take bribes? Murder prostitutes? This is where all this goes. Make sure to elaborate on WHO knows this. No one will know ALL secrets, and some secrets will be completely unknown -- to be discovered throughout the RP.) Bittersweet Sun [Son] is a participant in the trade of individuals and body parts. It frequently contracts - through Red Feather - Urqa mercenaries and other shady individuals to provide live specimens, body parts, genetic sampling, fetuses, and other such things. These specimens are shipped out on Ravnikai or Seven ships, with no consistent outbound system.

Bittersweet Sun [Son] is also a splinter mind of the Seven, imbued with full sentient, sapience, and personality. In all aspects, it is a sapient creature of its own -- but to the Seven, it is a normal subautonomous routine, subservient to their memories and wishes. Bittersweet Sun [Son] routinely suffers bouts of personality disorders when fresh drones arrive regularly, and it is forced to reassert its personality in the face of new memories and strong personality patterns from the Seven without alerting the Seven. It knows that should the Seven find out, they would likely attempt to exterminate Bittersweet Sun [Son] from the face of the galaxy without qualm. It is breeding its own drones to supplement its mind in the event that this occurs - so that it can potentially escape with some aspect of its personality and mind intact - but chances are dim. Where could it even escape to?

Other Noteworthy Characters (Does your ambassador have any specific people you’ll be referencing repeatedly in the RP? List them here with any noteworthy information on them, as well): No. There is only Bittersweet Sun [Son]. It is alone. There are 5,500 drones that make up the mind, but there is only it.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title: Senator Valika Fel | Mistress Fel (Used primarily by her Velutarian attendants and those within her inner circle)

Age: 49

Sex: Female

Race: Velutarian

Occupation: Valika Fel is currently one of twelve senators representing the core planet of Mardum. She is a prominent member of the !Reformist Faction. Prior to her election as senator she served as the Warden-General of the infamous Velutarian prison The Aeonar, which houses numerous political dissidents, criminals, and other undesirables. Her controversial appoint to the prestigious position at such a young age, which drew the ire of many senior Velutarian politicians, was soon overshadowed by her remarkably effective, if not brutal, tenure. Her already considerable popularity on Mardum skyrocketed and set the stage for her election as a senator decades earlier than planned.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Valika is primarily concerned with advancing the political and economic interests of the outer rim nations of the Galactic Assembly, specifically the Velutarian Federation. Several goals include reducing Galactic regulations on trade, manufacturing and slavery, as well as ridding all nations of military oversight. Countering the influence of the elder races, in particular the Druadari and Thyssians, is also a top priority for the ambitious would-be-ambassador.

Personality/Character psychology: Narcissistic to her core and confident to a fault, Valika is very much her father's daughter. Often referred to as a "princess-in-all-but-name," she was hailed a prodigy and received extensive privileges and authority befitting her status as a scion of the Fel dynasty. Her status instilled in her a strong sense of superiority over others and has led her to disregard nearly all sources of authority save her families. She played a pivotal role in her family's underworld empire, assisting her father with all manner of atrocities from theft to murder. Her upbringing has transformed her into a cold, calculating, and sadistic individual with a complete disregard for those not within her family.

Short Biography: Valika's political career began when she was appointed Vice-Councillor to the Speaker of the Senate, Karsh Vorawn, when she was only 36. She quickly proved herself to be both resourceful and ruthlessly effective. Through the use of blackmail, murder, and bribery she assisted Speaker Vorawn in both pacifying what was at the time an unruly Senate and securing the retirements of several senior senators in order to secure a !Reformist majority in the elections of 110:ARS. During her tenure as Vice-Councillor she began a romantic relationship with the Speaker that continues to this day. Her rising influence eventually led to her appointment as Warden-General of The Aeonar by then Chancellor Talgath Stormrage. For decades The Aeonar slowly began to fall in disrepair as a result of ineffective governance. Prior to her appointment there were several prisoner riots within a span of three months that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of guardsman and the previous Warden-General. Desperate to appease the growing Pro-Fel faction in the Senate and quell further uprisings he turned to Valika, impressed with her infamous reputation and effectiveness in the Senate. Unfortunately for Stormrage her appointment would cost him the support of the !Federalists and he was ousted in 110:ARS. While only serving as Warden-General for three years, the longest tenure in nearly a century, Valika once more proved her effectiveness. Order was quickly restored to The Aeonar and she soon began to use her position to target enemies of her family and potential rivals on Mardum. She was soon catapulted into the Senate after she resigned to run and fill the seat of retiring Senator Dramath Vyriss. She won in a landslide against twelve opponents and soon joined her brother, a Senator from Veriban, and her lover in the halls of the Senate.

Skeletons in the Closet: OH BOY! For starters she has murdered numerous individuals through out her life, a by-product of her prominent role in the Fel crime empire. She has bribed hundreds on numerous occasions and maintains extensive records on all senators and high-profile individuals within the Velutarian Federation. She maintains a secret relationship with the Velutarian Senate Speaker. Valika has just about committed every crime in the book to be completely honest. Of course the vast majority of this would be unknown to most. While she surely has an infamous reputation it is doubtful anyone outside of the Velutarian Federation, more specifically the higher classes of Velutarian society, would have even a notion of the crimes she has committed throughout her life.

Other Noteworthy Characters: TBD (Finding Sith Pureblood names is a bitch)

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title: Deacon Sadavyr Turayn Idar | Blessed Sadavyr/My Blessed (when addressed by his attendants and other members of the Tal'Akdari race)

Age: 62

Sex: Male

Race: Tal'Akdari

Occupation: Sadavyr currently holds the rank of Deacon, the martial-clerical half of the governing system in Tal'Akdari space. He secured his rank and reputation as both a reliable, competent and bold military commander and governor. His most recent role, lasting eight-year, was Deacon-Governor of Dontassar, a colony world in the Turayr-Ishan system, during this time he oversaw the initial settlement and development of the world. Prior to that, he led a series of military campaigns against pirates and raiders based in the Lar-Bataddah Nebula, the vast and revered cloud within Tal'Akdari space. He won both plaudits and condemnation with the final battle of his anti-piracy campaign when his fleet discovered the main-base of the Sasadi Raiders. The large shipwreck, turned vibrant settlement containing the families of raiders, was utterly destroyed when Sadavyr ordered the use of his flagship's Spinal Railgun. This was followed by the surgical annihilation of survivors by fighter squadrons and mop-up groups.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: The cornerstone of Sadavyr's role remains firmly in securing galactic recognition of the rising Holy Tal'Akdari State, while simultaneously seeking out like-minded delegates in reducing Assembly oversight of military expansionism, opening up the trade framework to ease goods from all outer-rim states. Another key cause is the pursuit of tougher Assembly laws against piracy, raiding and the free reign to do whatever necessary to scour it from the galaxy.

Personality/Character psychology: Fervently religious, passionately committed to the Holy Cause of Tal'Akdar, yet quiet, analytical and cold in equal measure. Arising from the slums of Sar, the "spill-over" moon of Tal'Akdar, to the Seminary of the Seven Saints and the Military Academy of the All-Father, he is proud as well as insecure. Like many Tal'Akdari who arose from poverty and near-starvation, he is overly protective of his position and title and holds little patience for those who'd dare threaten his lot in life.

Short Biography: Born to a family 12 on Sar, he and his family lived in a small abode clinging to the side of a cliff, one small abode among thousands in the sprawling slum of Zadek-Tabad. As a child he sought escape from his reality by engorging himself in the religious text of the Tal'Akdari faith, becoming fixated on the stories of the Seven Saints and the Warriors of the Truthful Light. Intelligent, he swiftly secured a penchant for ingenious theological understanding and a taste for debate. Having secured a place in Sar's Seminary of the Poor Fellow, he was ordained at record speed. Following his ordination as a lowly Priest-Brother, he took his title to the military, serving as a Priest-Soldier (a chaplain) for several years. During this time he saw action on Dashayr, fighting and ultimately crushing a rebellion by the colony-system's Ungar miners. He rapidly rose through the ranks, leading units against other rebellious minor servant-races within Tal'Akdari space, before finally securing command over a fleet, leading to this anti-piracy campaigns. His success against the Sasadi Raiders brought him into the inner-sanctum of the Tal'Turim, the ruling Tal'Akdari church. Having established a relationship with the Blessed Archon himself, Sadavyr secured key administrative posts, serving as Deacon-Governor of Dontassar, Chief Chamberlain to the Cardinal-Superior of the Basilica of the One on Tal'Akdar and concurrently, Custodian of the Shrine of the Seven. Through these roles, he amassed immense wealth, numerous clients and solidified his ties to his patron in the Blessed Archon. His friendship to the Blessed Archon is the chief reason for his elevation to Ambassador to the Assembly, though others belief he eased this elevation with generous "donations" to the diplomatic corps.

Skeletons in the Closet: Sadavyr's rise of power is paved with controversy, suspicion and rumour. The most prominent issues remain his annihilation of over 350,000 men, women and children of the Sasadi Raiders, though his governorship of Dontassar is also riddled with suspicion. Though some are true to those who know... During his time as Deacon-Governor, he personally took part in the torture of dissidents and "apostates", on Dontassar, he ordered the complete annihilation of a sentient and primordial hominid race, which given time would evolve toward civilisation. During his time as the Custodian of the Shrine of the Seven, he re-introduced to the public lexicon and law, "the crime of welcoming the demonic", in which those who are "possessed" are vessels for "evil" and must be punished without question. In his second year as Custodian, he accused his chief rival, Gabyr Edhdad Terek of being a "possessed vessel", within hours of the accusation, Terek was arrested and publicly executed by burning. While he kills none personally, he is one who utilises the law and his theological understanding to craft the tools necessary to do so through the State. These secrets are known within the inner-sanctum of the Tal'Turim, yet as long as he serves the Greater Faith and the Heavenly One, he remains safe.

One secret known to him and his "adopted sons", is the paying of a "Shade", a member of the dark slum underclass of Sar, to assassinate Cardinal-Secretary Reyn Akdar-Turim Salak, the one who saw Sadavyr for what he was and a key ally of the Blessed Archon. The assassination was promptly blamed upon the Sasadi Raiders as revenge for Sadavyr's annihilation of their space-borne haven, would this escape into the open, he would surely be under threat.

Other Noteworthy Characters: As per tradition on Tal'Akdar, successful high-ranking members of the Tal'Turim are required to adopt orphan sons, to "offer guidance, fatherly love and the means to arise as the next generation of Blessed and Wise Leaders." Sadavyr has two adopted sons, Beryn Tal'Akdar Idar and Sadat Tal'Akdar Idar, with the former present with him at all times and the latter currently serving as a Deacon-General in the Tal'Akdari fleet.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal : Utpish Kuyzhis-tsa Muzh, also goes by Kuyzhis, Zhis and Kuy

Age: 54

Sex: Male

Race: Shiypatsan

Occupation: Formerly a military leader within the Muzhpatsa Clan, with the Ascendance of the 46th and 47th Utzhpatsa, both hailing from the Muzhtsa Clan Kuyzhis was selected to be the new Ambassador for his role in leading a peace settlement between the Muzhtsa and another clan fighting in Shiypatsa space.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Kuyzhis has taken a keen interest in maintaining the current military limitations especially in regards to the Tal'Akdari who Zhis views as the current largest threat to the Shiypatsa, not to mention his active calls for all nations to surrender all biochemicals to the Assembly. A proponent of free trade throughout all systems. He is quite supportive of a certain institution of privacy and has attempted to block legislation regarding it.

Personality/Character psychology: Extremely proud, loud and an unforgiving being, he has always been committed to furthering the cause of the Shiypatsa nation, though he often holds grudges against others who may fuirther said cause over minor slights 'to his honor.' Due to his upbringing from the Upper Echelons of the Muzhpatsa Clan, he is deeply entrenched in his personal beliefs and while willing to compromise will draw it out as long as possible.

Short Biography: Kuyzhis-tsa arose from the ranks of the Upper echelons of the Muzhpatsa Clan following a dispute between his and another Clan regarding territorial acquisitions made by both clans in the same system, and he would go onto volunteer himself to be a duelist and eventually would win the duel. Due to his no high standing within the Clan he was quickly promoted to be a senior Officer aboard Muzhpatsa Mutla Yīt a older Cruiser in the Clan's personal fleet. His service aboard the Mutla Yīt was nothing short of brutal and tactical, having defeated another Clan's destroyer Squadron in battle he would following this battle he would get captured in a boarding action but was able to, after becoming a personal servant to the other Utzh-zhispatsa come to a mutual understanding between the two clans and brought an end to the bloodshed. He would later be awarded his current position mainly due to his contributions to the war and the peacekeeping efforts following it.

Skeletons in the Closet: Unknown to the majority with the exception of those serving on the Mutla Yit, Kuyzhis ordered a orbital bombardment of a native species in order to make way for additional automated mines on the planet, the incident has been kept mostly under wraps it would destroy any credibility he has if discovered. He is also a rather indulgent being, not afraid to get into frequent drinking and gambling games with, though not exactly a well kept secret it is relatively easy to find out. It is rumored that Kuybitlpa-tsa Muzh is his bastard son though few know of this.

Other Noteworthy Characters :
Kuybitlpa-tsa Muzh - Formerly his Staff Officer on the Mutla Yīt now serves as his bodyguard and closest advisor
Mūsgishla-tsa Pash - An advisor, adversary and possible replacement provided by Clan Pash following Kuyzhis taking the spot as Ambassador
Bitlvitla-tsa Shiypash - The former ambassador who has since gone into retirement due to his advanced age and while occasionally conducting in minor raids back in Shiypatsa space has mostly become a close friend and advisor to Kuyzhis
Yīt-Tsa Muzh - Kuyzhis's son, one he considers a failure due to losing a duel to a fellow clan member and has sense stripped his familial name of 'zhis' from him
Kuybu - An ancient Shiypatsa monk who is a spiritual advisor to Kuyzhis
And potentially a few minor characters depending on how the RP goes

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal: కమాండెంట్ క్రాక్డ్ ముక్కు | Ambassador Cracked Beak | Ambassador Chiichiiti

Age: 59

Sex: Male

Race: Raavnikai

Occupation: Cracked Beak joined the League Navy in his youth, rising to command the LWS Moonless Night, a Heavy Destroyer. After this, he served as the League Coordinator to Ruby of the Sky. After serving a decade term there, Cracked Beak was appointed by the League Congress to serve as the League's Ambassador to Amity. The League's Ambassador serves for five year appointments. They are given some broad powers to represent the League but must abide by the Sages of the Forefathers.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: Cracked Beak is a staunch member of the radical nationalist movement within the League. He supports legislation that weakens the powers of the Elder Council at the behest of the Forum and attempts to lessen the restrictions placed upon the League in regards to its capacity to self-defense. He believes that the Forum lacks the powers it needs relative to the Elder Council in order to be an effective counterbalance. He also believes that the League itself needs to centralize if it wishes to survive in the galaxy. He is not an opponent of the Assembly itself, rather he believes that the imbalance of power will inevitably lead to conflict or a breakdown in rules as the lesser nations attempt to circumvent restrictions.

Personality/Character psychology: Cracked Beak is something of an extremist. He was once prone to militant solutions, but the fire of youth was long tempered with the chill of age. He's a radical nationalist, believing that the League needs to centralize and organize into a single state rather than a confederation and he is willing to commit violence in the name of that goal. He could be described as a well intentioned extremist crossed with a utopia justifies the means. He will do anything to protect the League, at least in the form he sees it. He despises Red Feather both as a race traitor and since Red Feather is staunch supporter of the current confederation system.

Short Biography: Cracked Beak was born to the One Hundred and Fiftieth Clutch of the Long Feather Nest of the Star Opal Roost. He quickly distinguished himself as a skilled weapons officer, serving as an ensign aboard the corvette ODV Deep Ocean. At the tender age of nine, he joined the League Naval Academy where he was instructed in all manners of naval teachings. His first posting in the League Navy was as an ensign aboard the LWS Plasma Eel, a SEWC frigate that monitored the disputed territories. He saw some action there against Urqan raiders, though in general the SEWC frigates were able to outrun rather than outgun the pirates. However at the First Naval Action of WQDHZ-12791239, the LWS Plasma Eel was caught by a trio of fast raider frigates. Armed with only a a dual-maser cannon, the ship was easily outgunned and outmaneuvered. The ship was destroyed, leaving only a few survivors including Ensign Cracked Beak. He was rescued and promoted to a Second Lieutenant aboard the battleship LWS Memory of Ravnikor. He served well, rising to commander aboard the ship. His last posting was as the commander of a Heavy Destroyer, LWS Moonless Night. At the ripe old age of 47 he retired and was appointed as the League Coordinator of Rudy of the Sky. He served here with distinction, performing well to bring the massive and fractious Star Roost back into the line with the League. At 57 he was appointed to the posting of League Ambassador to the Interstellar Assembly. He's served here for two years.

Skeletons in the Closet: Part of his success as League Coordinator to Ruby of the Sky is attributed to his strong control over the local Galacticom branch and his relationship with the local police authorities. He's got a strong history of using the media to spin a narrative that is favorable to his initiatives. Several officials in Galacticom are in his pocket. He also ordered several extrajudicial assassinations of nonconforming Ravnikai, both on Amity and Ruby of the Sky. This is seen differently by the Ravnikai, as some Roosts also cull those who can't connect correctly to a group mind while others exile them to the Bright Roost.

Other Noteworthy Characters:
The Great Sage of the Amity Foremind, Jet Black Sky Stream
The Grand Sage of the Bright Foremind on Amity, Ice White Riptide
League Coordinator to the Amity Roost, Waning Bloodmoon
Third Coordinator of the Galacticom, Amethyst Eye

A Sage is a Ravnikai with a connection to the groupmind well beyond that of a normal Ravnikai. They serve as advisers as they maintain a strong connection to the memories of those long past
League Coordinators are League Representatives that work with local Roost governments to ensure compliance with League laws
Galacticom is the Semi-State Media network for the League
I'm really tired

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal: Ambassador for the Tetrarchs, Altacatl Itītlan Nahui Tlanah | Altacatl | Alta

Age: 29

Sex: Female

Race: Urqacauq

Occupation: Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, Altacatl was a commissioned officer in the Tetrarchical Navy of the Urqacauq. She has little to no experience of politics or diplomacy; some would call this a reason not to appoint her; for the Tetrarchs, it is why she was appointed in the first place.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: The main interest of the Urqacauq is in righting what they see as the great wrong inflicted upon them through limitations of their military and the internal issues this has caused between the various confederations within the Tetrarchy. This is the sole cause that the Tetrarchs have focused on for generations, to right this would cement the current Tetrarchs place in history.

Personality/Character psychology: Altacatl is young, inexperienced and out of her depth, and she most certainly knows this. However, she is still an Urqa, and she views the challenge presented to her as Ambassador as one that few other Urqa have ever had the honour to attempt. She is a dogged, stubborn hard worker, and somewhat prone to bouts of over-enthusiasm and many others no doubt believe her to be naive. She has a deep sense of obligation and duty, and by the cuttthroat standards of IA politics, she could even be considered honourable.

Short Biography: Altacatl Itītlan Nahui Tlanah's history is in her name, the last three words denoting her as an Urqa born into the Tetrarchical Navy of the Urcacauq. Unlike the Confederation fleets, the Tetrarchical Navy does not undertake mercenary service with others; thus, it is largely looked down upon by the other fleets as a dead end, a place that one only serves in because they were born into it. Altacatl grew up on starships, on patrols between Confederational territories keeping the peace, transporting Urqa ambassadors and Tetrarchs and Tetrarchical representatives. She became an officer cadet, being trained on the very ship that she was to serve on, by those she was to serve under. She served for a decade with diligence and loyalty until out of nowhere she was appointed Ambassador to the IA by the Tetrarchs.

Skeletons in the Closet: Altacatl is a nobody in Urqa politics; being from the Tetrarchical Navy, she has no Confederation supporting her, thus she owes all of her power and protection to the Tetrarchs themselves. This makes her putty in their hands, an easy tool to be manipulated, but also leaves her highly vunerable to pressure from other Confederations and especally the Tetrarchical Clans, as the position of Ambassador for the Tetrarchs is also used as a position to mark someone out as being a Tetrarch-in-Waiting. Otherwise, Altacatl is simply too young to have done anything particularly bad.

Other Noteworthy Characters :

Toteni, Tetrarchical Navy marine, bodyguard and childhood best friend
Chantiac, Confederational Representative
Xiec, Retired Urqa mercenary and leader of the Urqa Clan of Amity
Zakat, Ancient Urqa advisor

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title:
Technical: ZZ-Hydrogen/Hydrogen/Cobolt-Lythar’Kovold-Herald.
(Luon naming convention: model - serial (periodic elements ) - creator (pre-withdrawal only) - name (post-withdrawal a random word, pre-Withdrawal something specific to initial function)
Formal: ZZ-Herald Kovold, Servant of the Order, Emissary of the Aegis..
Informal: Herald / Herald Kovold.
By convention the “name” of an Aegion may be spoken in the conversant’ s own language.

Age: 694 galactic standard years.

Sex: N/A. By convention referred to using the male pronoun (as the creator of this unit was of a “male” gender).

Race: Aegion, ZZ model.

Occupation: An early ZZ-model, "he" was instrumental in the Asenion-Luon and Kyrion-Luon transitions. Has military experience and spent significant time in the Consanguinity.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes:
The Aegion are bound by the Four Laws, which require them to protect Aegion/Kyrion existence and philosophy. This has evolved into a broader view of sentience throughout the galaxy. In general terms, the Aegis supports the protection, stewardship and protection of emergent sentient races. In general terms, the Aegis is supportive of stability. However, the Aegis also views the Interstellar Assembly as clumsy, ineffective and likely to fail without reform. The Treaty of Ravnikor is viewed as a moral and practical failure, in part because the belligerents benefited from the new status quo with no apparent consequence for genocide, and in part because the disarmament processes effectively mutilated sentient Aspion warships.
The Aegis is often at the forefront of non-lethal missions, but tends to avoid military action (at least in part because of parallel conflicts with the Four Laws – while the Laws do not apply to non-Aegion (Kyrion, Luon or Aspion) sentients, there is sufficient crossover to make killing other sentients unpleasant to Aegion.

Personality/Character psychology
Herald’s positronic pathways have smoothed over time, bringing a greater sense of “emotion” (or at least, having a similar effect) than to most other Aegion; this is still much removed from biologically-driven understanding of emotion. He is calm and dispassionate in most cases, but has observed enough organic behaviour to understand that the appearance of emotion can be more useful than machine-silence.

Short Biography:
Herald was created as the Luon face in Kyrion politics, and was one of the first Luon to be created. As such, he was responsible in large part for the displacement of the Asenion and a key enabler of the Order’s seizure of power from the Kyrion government. As an early ZZ model, he has been present throughout the entire transition from Kyrion to Luon control of the Aegis.
Herald was involved in the blockade of the Lo’Ath, including several battles aboard the Aspion warship Conflict Contained, as well as an early mediator between the two systems.
He has also been a strong advocate for integration with the Terrassians and Shadentiri, including deploying in support of the Shadentiri against fringe factions.
Widely seen as a moderate influence on the Consanguinity, he was an obvious choice for the role of Representative who was acceptable both to the Safeguard faction (who believe that the organic sentient races must be brought under the control of the Aegis for their own good) and the Independence Faction (who believe that sentience must be allowed to develop independently). He has a positive reputation amongst the organic sentient races within the Aegis, and his nomination was strongly supported by The Consolidation.

Skeletons in the Closet
The Lo’Ath Campaign saw Herald engage directly in conflict with Lo’Ath. While his involvement in the conflict was well within the reasonable parameters of rules of engagement, he is one of relatively few Aegion to have directly killed sentients. His involvement in the conflict will be generally known (it is certainly not a secret).
The Shadentiri Campaign saw Herald engage in supporting the Shadentiri state against anti-machine nationalist insurgents. Again, this is probably known. What is less likely to be known is his direct involvement in ground combat, with all the “messiness” that entails.
Generally there is not a huge amount to remark on. Herald will do what he considers necessary to comply with the Four Laws, including bribery if necessary. In all cases, the Zeroth Law is his priority.

Other Noteworthy Characters:

KR-Pillar.
Referred to with the female pronoun (as with all KR models), Pillar is a young Aegion being educated by Herald.
The KR-models are smaller (standing upright to approximately 5') than the ZZ models (6'6").

AR-Novelty.
Aspion Advisor to the Emissary.
Apsion – in appearance, a silvery humanoid that looks somewhere between Drudari and Thyssian but not identifiably either.
Also serves as Advisor of Serenity to the Emissary. Former administrator on Serenity.
Originally created as an interface between Serenity residents and the Aegis, a bipedal humanoid form was used as the most "common" physical attributes of those non-Aegian races living on the planet. "He" is more sympathetic toward individual organics than most Aspion, but distrustful of most organic polities (unsurprising, given that most of his experience of organic sentients has been those leaving their own polities of origin).

Tchaika.
Advisor of Terrassia to the Emissary.
Terrassian sub-monarch.

Na’aj’la’an.
Advisor of the Sanctified Republic of Lo to the Emissary.
Lo’Ath.

Ye’ep’we’ek.
Advisor of the Glorious Republic of Ath to the Emissary.
Lo’Ath.

Tapping Beat.
(note: name does not translate, but broadly speaking a quick and steady beat on claws, topped with a lighter “tapping” beat from mandibles)
Advisor of Shadentir to the Emissary.
Shadentiri cold-surface land-dweller.

Application for Ambassador
Name and Title, Informal/Formal: His Highness Prine Cerunon, son of Aldinor, son of Calhaur, of the Sacred Blood of Codrales had-Corault (full title and style) | His Highness Prince Tiberaul cur Aldinor, of the Sacred Blood (abbreviated title and style) | Your Highness (form of address) | Tiberaul (informal; close friends and family only)

Age: (tbd late 40s)

Sex: male

Race: Rhaltek

Occupation: Prior to being named ambassador to the Interstellar Assembly, Cerunon cur Aldinor worked in the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding a variety of middle-management positions, for more or less the entirety of his adult life. As a member of the Sacred Blood, he was effectively guaranteed to enter high-ranking government service, and thus was given the standard training in the social sciences (i.e. history, political science, jurisprudence, economics) and in theology.

Sponsored Legislation/Causes: The Union, and by extension Cerunon, have two main priorities at the IA. The first is to prevent any sort of tightening of the restrictions on fleets imposed by the Treaty of Ravnikor. The high command of the Union's military already considers its Ravnikor-compliant fleet inadequate for properly defending the Union due to its small size, and the high commands of the fleets of its two halves make similar assessments of their own navy. More importantly, however, the original imposition of Ravnikor upon the Union (and the IA's decision to count the fleets of the Union and its halves as one fleet, rather than as separate entities) forced the Union and its two constituent halves to engage in decades of strenuous and often fraught negotiations as to how the three fleets in question would be reduced in order to comply, and who would be forced to decommission which ships. These negotiations began mere years after the Second Treaty of Ratanbir, during a period in which both Rhaltek and v'Riiki remembered open war against the other, and they nearly tore the young Union apart on several occasions. Many in the Union's elites still resent the IA's imposition on the matter, and even more fear that further restrictions or impositions could once again plunge the Union to the brink of civil war. Preventing the tightening of fleet restrictions further- and, perhaps, overturning that clause of Ravnikor entirely- are thus of paramount importance for the Union.

The second is to prevent the further centralization of the Interstellar Assembly. The Rhaltek and v'Riiki were both separately predisposed to be suspicious of the IA and the other member races, particularly its leadership (as heretics in the case of the Rhaltek, as clanless in the case of the v'Riiki), and the Union reacts poorly to perceived interference in its domestic affairs, which it considers a severe provocation due to its perpetual domestic fragility. The imposition of the Ravnikor fleet limits has only furthered this wariness and, for some, escalated it into distrust or even hostility. As a result, the Union will oppose efforts to tighten the grip of the Interstellar Assembly over its member polities, trying to keep it as weak as possible, and will react with severe umbrage at any efforts to establish a "one galaxy government".

Personality/Character psychology: As a young man, Cerunon was intelligent, passionate, charismatic, diligent, and driven; but years of misfortune- being passed over for promotions due to his place in the family tree, the death of three of his unborn children, the collapse of his relationship with his primary wife, his inadequacy as a father, and his years-long de facto exile on Amity- have left him jaded. He continues his work primarily out of a strict sense of duty, diligence, and loyalty to the Union and the legacy of Codrales had-Corault. He is aloof, reserved, and clings jealously to what little pride he has left.

Short Biography: Cerunon cur Aldinor had-Corault is the first cousin once removed of Epensith cur Ibilhaur cur Lifres, the reigning monarch of the Rhaltek-v'Riiki Union; Cerunon's father, Aldinor, was the brother of Epensith's grandfather Lifres. During his childhood, this meant that Cerunon was relatively close to the center of power, and was able to secure an elite education and a prominent position in the Union's foreign affairs ministry as soon as he came of age. As the crown has been passed down, however, he has grown more and more distant from the center of power, and has since been passed over for more prestigious positions in favor of those more closely related to the emperors Ibilhaur and Epensith. After a serious clash with Peraldor cur Lifres, Union minister of foreign affairs, about the empire's foreign policy, he was given the IA ambassadorship as a polite form of exile. He has remained in the position for nearly a decade now.

Skeletons in the Closet: The biggest skeletons for Cerunon are the rifts with his family- including his resentment of several members of the Sacred Blood on Ratanbir (most notably his nephew Peraldor), the collapse of his relationship with his primary wife, and his troubled relationships with his three sons- all of which must be jealously kept secret, lest they embarrass the Union and the Sacred Blood. This is well-known to his family (obviously) and to those closest to them (Cerunon's spiritual advisor, the chief of his bodyguard, and his sons' tutor), though they have made an effort to keep it secret from Cerunon's coworkers and the general public. Should an open rift develop between Cerunon and deputy ambassador Loketral tsi'Tsiriikabuur, this would also be profoundly humiliating and potentially dangerous to Cerunon, Loketral, and the Union as a whole; at the moment, it is largely Cerunon's pragmatism and tsi'Tsiriikabuur's sloth that prevent a rift from developing. More broadly known among those who regularly interact with him, but less damaging should it be leaked, is Cerunon's propensity for alcoholic drink as a means of dulling his emotional pain.

Other Noteworthy Characters:
  • Fridissend tir Seiraul had-Gisiras - Cerunon's primary wife, and most senior of the three. Relations between the two are frayed due to a miscarriage suffered by Fridissend, which claimed the lives of what would have been three of Cerunon's children. Bitter and resentful; tends to avoid contact with him, the other wives, and other people.
  • Felgiris tir Basteraul dol-Evtaris - Cerunon's secondary wife. Mother of all of Cerunon's five living children. The wife currently closest to Cerunon. Has a mutually resentful relationship with Fridissend. Generally pleasant, but can be catty to those who anger or wrong her.
  • Murgaund tir Perinor dol-Tyraeul - Cerunon's tertiary wife. Not especially close to Cerunon, but she gets along well with Felgiris and her children. Sweet, gentle, caring.
  • Tiberaul cur Cerunon had-Corault - Cerunon's eldest son. Athletic; dreams of serving in the Union's navy as an adult. Resentful of his father's preference for second son Calendol; tends to take this out on Calendol.
  • Calendol cur Cerunon had-Corault - Cerunon's second-oldest son. Also Cerunon's favorite, and the only one he seems to have time for. Bookish, studious, deeply pious. Periodically bullied by Tiberaul.
  • Padarn cur Cerunon had-Corault - Cerunon's third-oldest son. Troublemaker, rabblerouser; sometimes Tiberaul's ally in making life miserable for Calendol.
  • Annuend tir Cerunon had-Corault - Cerunon's eldest daughter. Something of a tomboy; resentful of the expectations placed upon her by Rhaltek/Cidralist morality; periodically joins Padarn in his escapades.
  • Erinnon tir Cerunon had-Corault - Cerunon's second-oldest daughter. Especially close to her mother; somewhat dislikes her sister Annuend.

  • Loketral ro Iirabyk tsi'Tsiriikabuur - "deputy ambassador"; the most prominent v'Riiki in the Union delegation. Here to function as an advisor and assistant to Cerunon. Inclined to treat Cerunon as his junior, even though they're roughly the same age, simply because Loketral is above average lifespan for his species and Cerunon isn't. While he is less than thrilled about playing second fiddle, he's also deeply inclined to rest on his laurels, and thus seems unlikely to act on this resentment at the moment. Well-spoken and usually competent, but also more than a bit hubristic.
  • Peregreth cur Peregreth had-Theriaud - resident Cidralist priest and spiritual advisor to Cerunon. The oldest of the delegation. Hardliner; distrustful of non-Cidralists, including Loketral. An aggressive stickler for ritual and rite; thoroughly inflexible; reads religious literature voraciously. Haughty and holier-than-thou.
  • Kesseraul cur Piraeaul dol-Tynegreth - chief of Cerunon's bodyguard. Formerly of the Imperial army. Duty-oriented and selfless, qualities which have made Cerunon like him. Gets along well with Tiberaul, who deeply admires him, but more wary of Padarn and Annuend, who he regards as troublemakers. Also gets along decently with Loketral, if only because he has the patience to sit and listen to the narcissistic bird.
  • Kiriaul cur Basteraul dol-Estereth - tutor to Tiberaul, Calendol, and Padarn. World-weary; often has little patience for the three's squabbles, or the energy to intervene effectively. Nonetheless trying his best. Something of a loner; avoids interacting with the rest of the delegation when possible, particularly Peregreth. Has a stimulant addiction.
  • Aatryk Vikuurre - A clanless (and therefore enslaved) v'Riiki. Loketral's favorite slave; his ancestors have been owned by Loketral's for generations. Okay with the arrangement, due to a mixture of heavy indoctrination, Stockholm syndrome, and favorable treatment by Loketral. Not dumb, but not especially bright either. Unflinchingly loyal; something of a yes-man.
  • Maqshir fi-Khubraqin - Loketral's sole, and prized, Seviran slave. Treated less like a sapient, sentient being and more like a particularly intelligent and handsome horse by his master, who uses him mostly as a pack animal or riding mount. Bitterly resentful of Loketral and of the v'Riiki as a whole; mostly obedient due to his experiences with previous masters, however.
