Union of Banana Republics
Are you a tin-pot dictator of a tropical banana republic? Do you have a chest full of bottle cap medals? Is your Swiss bank account bigger than your nations entire economy? If you answered yes to all of the above you are eligible to join the Union of Banana Republics!
The Union of Banana Republics (Spanish: Unión de Repúblicas Bananeras) was established by General Waldo Gustavo Prat of Paquador to bring together fellow banana republics to enable closer cooperation.
* Each member state assigns a representative to the Union Junta which is the main legislative body of the organisation. The organisation is chaired by an 'elected' El Presidente.
* The Union acts as a cartel for banana exporting countries but this is merely a front for the many other levels that we operate and you don't even need to be a banana growing nation to join.
* Member states internal security forces pledge to work together to suppress political opponents.
* Facilitation of bribes from foreign governments as well as the siphoning off of your national economy can be routed through the URB to Switzerland with minimal fuss and with absolute secrecy.
* Holding a sham election in which you are the only candidate and you win 99% of the vote and need international recognition and legitimacy? All member states will recognize fellow members elections as 'free and fair'.
* In the event of your overthrow you are granted immediate political refuge at a banana republic of your choice.
* Member republics will refuse to adhere to sanctions or other violations of sovereignty of fellow Union states.
