He had struggled all his life yet, even as he hung at the precipice of death now, he still found no meaning in his quest for meaning, the essence of it cruel and satirical, goading at his being beyond the veil of illusions hastily thrown upon his eyes as a shield from the madness of it all. His muscles ached from their contractions as he stepped off the ledge, all thought of death gone, for the moment at least. He tilted his upward at the night sky, the stars coalescing into one great spiral like symbols etched upon black tapestry by divine hands. The edges of his mouth twitched. He closed his eyes. Then, he did the unthinkable. And the consequences of his action would echo throughout the chasms of the Multiverse, drawing all manner of sentience to his cry, a beacon lighting up an ocean of darkness, revealing the myriad of specters within the state of existence. Thus, as his eyes closed for the final time because it was his bedtime, he glimpsed, on his computer screen, what he had sought for since youth. The voice...of the omniscient.
