Actually, hmm... the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced I don't actually want to play a global colonial empire... I think I'll just keep my North American possessions and drop everything else. Instead of a colonial empire, I'll find some other advantage to bestow upon the nation I will be representing - industrialisation and high technology, probably. Maybe culture.

Hmmmm...on one condition. You figure out the exact population numbers for Schleswig.

German population having grown by roughly 9% between 1906 and 1919 IRL, but Scandinavian immigration to the US - something like one-sixth or one-seventh of the population - and elsewhere being somewhat lower than in RL, with the history I'm thinking of. I think 400,000 as-is makes for a reasonable estimate for the population of the region.

The Grand Republic of Busang - a mostly Korean former colony with a lot of other Asian heritage.

I hope that you're looking at the right map though, Busang is indeed one of the nations that will return for the reboot, but the map in the OOC is in the rest fairly out of date.

The map I shared here is also not fully up to date with reservations, a more proper variant will be out soon.

Essentially what I am going for is a hyper-accelerationist hodgepodge of leftist, and other styles of thought country blended together by a form of nationalism focusing on spirituality, mysticism, revolutionary virtue, and a religion that attempts to unify things in a way not even France's in real-life cult of the Supreme Being could do.

The religion is a mixture of New England style congregations, and Quakerism with Anglicanism topped on with indigenous new England native beliefs, French revolutionary deism (different from American deism), inspirations from the Baha'i Faith, and Unitarian Universalism.

I recommend taking a look at my France app. There's not really revolutionary deism in this timeline; France has been a republic since the sixteenth century, inspired more by Calvinist fervor than by Enlightenment values, and is so far the only democratic state on the European continent. I really like the idea, but you may need to adjust your historical explanation for why and how it emerged to match a very different context.

I recommend taking a look at my France app. There's not really revolutionary deism in this timeline; France has been a republic since the sixteenth century, inspired more by Calvinist fervor than by Enlightenment values, and is so far the only democratic state on the European continent. I really like the idea, but you may need to adjust your historical explanation for why and how it emerged to match a very different context.

To clarify I meant more in real-life inspiration from our timeline of events more than this alternate timeline. I recently had to do a paper on the role of religion and the downfall of Robespierre, and suffice to say if you are going to have a revolutionary society, and religion then France's take (under Robespierre) on religion is probably going to pop up.

Thanks for that. Substracting that number while adding the 248.000 from Luxembourg makes for a net loss of 152.000. That works well enough.

I’m very interested in several aspects of German Imperial policy... the Empire’s relationship with France and especially with Russia, its trade policy, any further colonial ambitions it might have. I’m generally inclined in this iteration of the RP to align myself as a pro-German power, but that would obviously depend on Germany having at least somewhat acceptable answers to these questions.

Basically there is no real imperial policy.

Generally the relationship with France is at a low point...with Russia...eh...I'm not sure yet.

Trade policy is neutral enough tho French goods are being put under discriminatingly long searches for smuggled contraband and suffer from higher tariffs at the customs office.

Colonial ambitions do not exist and there is no strength to have colonial ambitions.
