University of Athens uncovers lost fortress, begins excavation
The University of Athens has recently uncovered an ancient fortress near its campus. The top structure was revealed as the University's construction crews were laying the foundation for a new building, the Azimov School of Engineering. The site has since been closed off and the ASE has been relocated to another part of the campus. The discovery brought shockwaves throughout Asteria as it was thought all ruins had been discovered almost 20 years ago. A spokesman for the university, Constantinus Petrovich, said in an interview:The discovery of this ancient fortress is a boon for everyone in the scientific community. As we focus on excavating the fortress, we will discover new knowledge and information about our past never known before. I speak for everyone at the University when I say I can't wait to see what we unearth.
President Azimov has applauded the initiative, saying that learning about the past is a vital step in marching towards our future. The President has allocated a $250,000 government grant for the University to excavate the facility. President Azimov is expected to make a trip to the fortress next week.
